    The whole "I can take leg kicks all day" argument always confused me. The people who train at getting hit in the legs a lot still try to check, block, stuff and avoid leg kicks, but someone who doesn't usually get hit in the legs at all thinks they'll just TAKE the leg kicks and keep on going? Like, where does that even come from?

      ego, I had a friend of mine who's 6'1 and 210 lbs, I'm 5'10 and at the time we tried this I was 135 lbs. He did body building and some wrestling and said he could take leg kicks all day. We put it to the test, I kicked him like 50% only on his hamstring and he backed off after just one lol. He was like "ok ok, it stings, I'll give you that" and I was like "bruh I barely hit you lol"

    I been doing Boxing and Muay Thai for 17 years now, recently enrolled into Karate with my kid. The whole "bladed stance" thing is a myth, Karate stance is even more bladed than boxing and they check/block low kicks perfectly fine. I've been doing it for almost 20 years from the boxing stance. If you learn good boxing, meaning shifting your weight properly while keeping you footwork balanced and grounded, it's real easy to shift your weight to the back leg and raise your front one to block faster than the opponent's kick gets to you.

    • @why9078
      @why9078 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True i find in most of my sparring, with proper weight shiftingand balance i am still able to properly check kicks even in a bladed stance, i find that most partners tend to throw them fast and not very high on the tigh which allows me to most of the time block it high on the shin and sometimes with my knee. I beleive i learned this dtyle of checking from icy🧊mike🤏

      @Jandro1083 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArtistDaynz90 it's very smart actually, especially for high kicks. My Muay Thai instructor showed me how to properly block high kicks with my elbows. You have to use the area right at the end of you forearm before your elbow. It's one of the hardest parts of the body, so it won't break, and you don't have any nerves there, so it won't hurt you. I actually stopped 2 fights like that, my opponent couldn't continue after kicking me there because of their pain.

    Well I'm a boxer and I can eat leg kicks. Sure I kickboxed for a long time too, but I'm still a boxer that can take leg kicks lol. But who is this directed too and for what purpose? Sounds like a self defense thing, but do you see many proper low kicks in a street fight in the US lol? Or even kicks at all? They would probably clown on you and then jump you in philly if you did that. But seriously, kicking in a street fight is silly. Hands and wreslting, that's all you need for non competition fighting. So if you get in a fight with someone out in society, (which you shouldn't anyways) hands and good old wraslin will beat everything. Even a simple two years of wreslting in highschool does it for the average person. But of course you ended with the sells pitch, and then I understood. So where is your gym at anyways?

      With the growth of MMA, the "general person" knows a lot more about fighting. I teach out of Beacon MMA in Cherry Hill, NJ and we have a lot of members who come in with more of a bladed stance, so this drill has been really helpful for them.

      @fighttips yeah but how many times has that been successful? How many videos can you point to showing MMA wannabes in the US successfully landing kicks in street fights? Kicks that have a great effect, that is? I can think of maybe 3 off top. No need to check a leg kick if you can catch a single or double as a counter. Kicking for the streets is not where it's at. Hands and wreslting, no mas. I like kicking, but you won't catch me kicking or checking a kick in the streets lol. I'd be embarrassed after I'm done winning the fight. I'll use my hands, and if they do anything else but use their hands, I'll use wreslting. But to each their own.

      People are low kicking a lot more these days, especially with the growth of MMA. I study street fight footage like it's my job... oh wait!

      @@fighttipscome on bro, you "study street fight footage"? Yeah we all can youtube street fights lol. Literally just came off a bing of watching "skatepark fights" for no good reason except that I was bored. Funny for sure, but didn't see any kicks. Maybe in other countries (soccer coutries), they throw kicks a lot. But in the US, it's still very rare. And usually the footage where someone throws a kick in the US, they are the ones losing the fight. Because they watched the UFC too much and thought they could just kick someone and the fight would be over. But instead they throw that silly untrained kick, and then get mopped with wild untrained people punches lol. But still lose none the less.

      @@ArtistDaynz90almost like you have to be good at kicking for it to work, no? you made an absolutely garbage point lol. "people in the US don't kick" oh so I guess that means kicking is bad even though they're more powerful and have a farther range than punches when u set them up right. makes sense to me buddy

    Yep , there only one punch in boxing , a jab ....)) And of course there no combination punches in boxing . And the best , simply best defence against jab is pary and low kick ....)) And who the hell needs power , screw you keokushin karate world . And it a good explanation to all this , boxing is a last in your list of skills . It shows ....))

      keep crying when boxers in the UFC themselves suffer from leg kicks until they adjust their stance, proving Shane's point. you would think they know boxing combinations, no?
      plus if you do this stance, it doesn't matter what combo u do lmao ur stance will be consistent

      @@patootie3529 Simple fact , jabs are faster then leg kicks...)) Distance to go is shorter.You parry one, low kicking guys leg and suddenly eating second jab to nose .And hell with jabs, it could be a left-right combination, simply that.Right cross to a temple is a good price for low kick ...?))Parry and low kick means you perry and be standing on one leg for a split second .For good boxer, some one standing on one leg is a non moving target .And there lots of knockouts in UFC in that fashion, check your basics .Low kicks are not recepy for everything...))

    If he throws a low kick when u step in with a jab the low kick wont land clean.
    Having a tighter stance does not help the boxer in any way and it damn sure doesnt help the boxer when dealing with leg kicks. Keep the traditional boxing stance.
