I did the first three pieces in college. It was and still is interesting to hear Schumann's mood swings in his work. He was a manic/depressive GENIUS. They published a book called "touched with fire manic depressive illness and the artistic temperament". The book looks at many artists one of which was Robert Schumann. I love these cycle of song/poems. They bring back some very fond memories from University and Conservatory of music.
This is truly a wonderful masterpiece of Wnderlich... He had it all, from the tremendous power to the unprecedented graciousness... Thank you for uploading!
