  • In this episode, I explore the styles and grape varieties of the Jura region of France.
Very popular with burgundy enthusiasts, lovers of terroir and those who like small scale artisanal wines made with less shite added to them.
If you're a fan of cool climate wines with a sense of place, you'll soon fall in love with the wines of Jura.

It's funny, I first heard about Jura wines way back in 2012, but they haven't really exploded onto the wine scene (wine snob circles excepted). Why do you think that is?

Jessica Guzik small production, most of the top wines struggle to even make it out of france. Lots of super allocated wines.

@Jessica Guzik I just saw your comment, and it made me chuckle :) because we have an old saying here, (in Jura) that say "if we don't talk about our wines, there is more of it for us" hahaha
But in all seriousness, as said above, we produce in a very small amount because Jura is a small piece of land. We principally use old technics and very few mechanized process.
      Have a nice day :)

Noice, happened to pass through Arbois and tasted the wine there, my god, I was hooked. Something about that unique fermentation produces aromas that send me crazy. could we grow Savagnin in the UK? And make yellow wine here?
