  • Apart from a few cosmetic touches we're finally at the finishing line with our shed revamp! What started as a squeak of an idea back in the winter has now given us a shed that is not only double the size, but a glorious place to sit, relax and even socialise! It's been a lot of hard work but I hope you like the finished result as much as I do!
    Come and see what we get up to at our organic, no dig garden in the centre of the UK.
    Come say hi over here:

    Oh Jane, dream shed made by a dream team! Love the stained glass windows and the fire/stove is inspired. Well done you, Mike and Rocky (I’m sure he contributed as well).

      Ha ha - yes Rocky certainly helped out with approving/disapproving looks now and then - namely 'when are you going to stop all this nonsense and give me a treat'! Thanks Honore.

    Hey Jane, It is so exciting to get something done! Done might mean different things to different folks. In my mind getting done is when you feel it is functional. Now the character comes along the way years of fiddling with this and that folks giving gifts to you that become part of the shed. That could be tools, a small table, a chair anything that makes it you! In that way of thinking the shed is never done as it takes on a life that is always growing.
    You have done a great job very proud of you I hope you have years of happiness with your shed!! God bless y'all be safe Cya next time

    • @JanesGrowingGarden
      @JanesGrowingGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly - it will continue to evolve as time goes by - we've already been given a 'speak no evil' monkey carving that I think will be quite fitting next to my chair! Really glad you like it - thank you!

    I love the shed it's fab 👍
    The small dark brown glass fronted cabinet - this could be a store cubard for all your none gardening cooking/food stuffs. It would keep things away from rats and mice.
    - opening top could be used for knives, forks, spoons, cutting knives, glass cutting board (as easier to keep clean) etc.
    - the top shelf cups, plates, tea/coffee, buscuit tin
    - the bottom shelf cleaning products a washing up bowl, tea towel, washing up liquid, pan scourer, paper towels, anti bacterial spray etc. The water to be used for watering the plant troughs out side, win win
    All in all a great little kitchen station, compact and all keep together neat and tidy 😁 and away from pests
    This is similar to my set up on a community allotment shed and it worked very well

    • @JanesGrowingGarden
      @JanesGrowingGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly what I was thinking! I hadn't gone so far as to what would be on each shelf but I think you've sorted that for me! Ideally I'd love one of those 1950's kitchen cupboards with the drop down shelf but that's something for the future. Thanks Carol - that's really helpful!

    Wow - you could almost live in there. You just need a cot (and a blankie) for afternoon naps. The variety in the colours and shapes of the wood is it's own decoration. People pay big money for that look. Enjoy it.

    Ohh I am jealous! I like the idea of it not being painted inside, the rustic look is pretty. We have a much smaller shed and painted the inside white and it does look better in the smaller space, but yours is like everyones dream of a log cabin in the woods. I've always dreamt of a wood burner but the shed isn't big enough but there are greenhouses combined with sheds on our site reminiscent of Victorian garden buildings and they have wood burning stoves in them, all I have is a one ring camping gas stove, but it allows us to have a cuppa and a hot meal if we're there all day. The things I would add as you said somewhere to hang cups and at least a frying pan and perhaps a shelf to keep tea coffee etc oh not forgetting the biscuit tin haha, hubby has his own biscuit tin with Grandads biscuits written on it. Our family know him so well!!

    • @JanesGrowingGarden
      @JanesGrowingGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes definitely - I'm going to use that strange cabinet as a pantry for crockery and the like, and already have my tea and coffee tins up on the shelves. You've reminded me we do already have a one ring stove - ideal for when it's too warm for the fire! I'd love to see inside the buildings on your allotment - I bet there are a few quirky ones! Glad you like it Liz - thank you.
