I keep mine in an aquarium on my back verandah all year round without a heater. I live in Gympie which is subtropical. I love these little guys. They basically breed like rabbits. 😄
mine lived to 5 years old, a year of which my brother intentionally neglected her and hardly ever fed her and never changed or even filtered the water. they could live in beer.

Hey handsome i have 4 zebras an i had 2 females that layed eggs and it was successful i didnt even see when they layed the eggs all i saw was baby zebras in between the fox tail plants 😊one thing for sure the babies do know how to hide very well

The majority of fish are gonna eat their babies except for the ones that actively protect them like Discus or Apistogramma. So yeah danios will eat their babies
I'm looking for something that will get along with a small (for now) yabby that I netted while fishing for trout. The yabby is around 40-50mm long already. Will it be safe with these guys?

Are the lights out when is stops swimming and for how long does it stop? Zebras are super hardy so I sure he/she is fine. Mine do barely move at night but rarely stand still with lights on in my 55gal.

I just inherited a Zebra Danio from my son's friend, and he is vicious. I QT'd him for a bit and he appears really healthy, so I put him in with my other Danios and their buddies, but within two hours I noticed my red glo Danio had gouges out of both his sides, and yet he was perfect earlier in the day. Needless to say, I observed for a bit and that Zebra was after Rosie Memos like mad, so I had to pull him out and put him back in the QT. Needless to say, I started treating Rosie with Melafix immediately, and he has had his second treatment today. That Zebra, I call Cain, didn't attack the other Danios, just Rosie. However, Cain will be going the way of the killer Molly, Bully Bob (he killed my other Molly so I euthanized him) if I need the QT for any other fish.
Zebra danio's do not need a heater. They are a temperate fish, meaning they can handle cooler and warmer temperatures similar to platy fish.

Zebra danios do not require a heater. They are sold in the UK as cold water fish and do better in cooler water.
It might be because most homes in the UK are heated, so you don't really get very cold temperatures indoors

No they need at least 21-26 degree water temp which is room temperature in uk so the water naturally is the right temperature without a heater
