Oh my gosh this takes me back. 15 year old Billy, a full 5 years before he brought SRC to life…. Watching this little phone clip knowing they had no idea the direction life would take us now. Tommy you did a great job editing this. Dad’s laugh has never changed 😂 we need more videos like this with old footage. Loved it!

I think the kids are a little embarrassed of good ol dad even thinking about racing they don't see their dad that way and it's funny to them this is such a great video I couldn't stop laughing about the minute 412 in the video when Billy starts talking and he just blatantly states I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING. and boys just couldn't stop laughing WHICH tells the story of how they are feeling about this whole dad racing or even Billy getting in that car and racing .. I grew up without a father in my life and did a lot of dumb shit growing up.
I look at you all and want to do the same for my son. I am in a battle with cancer at 42 with a son that is less the 2 years old. So just remember that no matter what happens, we are all here for a short period of time and never take for granted what you are blessed with. You all rock and love the content.

We grew up bracket racing.dad had a 71 nova with a 454 BBC. Every weekend.. Hearing the word time trials threw me back.... Bracket is cool because in theory you cant be beat by a better car. It allows people in all price ranges to compete on a level playing field. For more serious guys its good practicw and for weekend guys its a way to enjoy your hobby , win some money, and have a good time.... Its a race thats less dependent on big money and more on driver skill, tuning, dialing in your car

Dang rite bracket racing is tuff..especially foot braking one but it's a boat load of fun!!I love it!..I put last year's track champ on the trailer at our first gambler's race at our 1st test & tune of the year cut a 0.56. To a 0.08 and he couldn't catch me ...that's fun

Can't wait until you change some suspension parts! If you can fit it, put a 1" open spacer on top of that performer rpm intake (that's what you have?). That will help the midrange to top end a lot. And if the mufflers are chambered, get rid of those for some straight through Ultra Flows.

On Bill's elimination lap with the orange Mustang the Malibu's 1-2 shift was NASTY QUIK but 2-3 was just a tad slower and yep, we did see Bill HAMMER the binders to keep from breaking out but alas, the other lane didn't break out and the math sent the Malibu to the trailer. Nice light and lap Bill, the other lane was just that much more dialed in. A few more laps in that little Malibu will help Bill and the car become ONE and there's be a bunch a WIN LIGHTS in 'The Old Man's Garage' lane :)

It’s always nice doing something different once in a while or back to your roots. As a bracket racer myself I will say there’s good money to make bracket racing now a days with 5ks-10s-20s but bracket racing is a lot tighter now than it was 10 years ago cause equipment and technology. Everyone can be double 0 whatever on the tree and close to dead on a lot.

The more you can do on your own car the more money you save. Sure being able to race is fine. Nothing can take away from you learning and doing your own work. Keep learning. I like the Bu , had one myself , a 1980 Malibu classic with the little 267 c.i. I couldnt kill it , I would leave that one alone maybe tweak it to run some 12.0's and enjoy it , no parts breakage and cheap fun on pump gas
