This was a protest ep that was made in retaliation against a 1994 law that prohibited techno raves and labeled the music as a "succession of repetitive beats."
I love this kind of productions of AE where, I guess, they layer part by part in more studio traditional way. Diferent of today's productions where they jam and extract. I find the first ones more humanly possible haha
@@vogelvogeltje yeah, back when i bought this on vinyl, (mid nineties?) there was no internet. i always played it at 33rpm. i still prefer it at that speed.
It can be either 45 or 33 as per the artists! From the autechre wikipedia page-> The record came wrapped in a seal, on which was printed a legal warning: "Flutter has been programmed in such a way that no bars contain identical beats and can therefore be played at both forty five and thirty three revolutions under the proposed new law. However we advise DJs to have a lawyer and musicologist present at all times to confirm the non repetitive nature of the music in the event of police harassment."

🫷👹🫸 I guess the repetitive beats won
You just read that off of Wikipedia.
"Let our record speak for us"
"Your record speaks, it's brilliant!"
"BLEEEEEEECH!"
This is a cornerstone antiestablishment album.
its insane to think the 1994 anti rave act thing may well have pushed autechre into the alien, unrepeating madmen they are today, given flutter
one of the best Ae releases and have it on vinyl of course :D

They are truly the kings of the IDM style
As long as we vote aphex twin as the emperor, I'm fine.
@@alexhamilton3522 Aphex can be the Emperor and Autechre can be the God-Emperor, above him.
@@Diraldir Blasphemy! One does not slight the name of Aphex lightly!

Boards Of Canada, Guys, you did not mention Marcus nor Michael. That is a terrible error.
Your records speak just brilliantly.
A quaint notion of an even quainter nation.
Love Autechre sounds Too
A lot of people say that flutter is a genius work, but I think Lost is way too better l. Holy made me cry
Lost Alone by Mind in a Box

Synaesthesia, what does the colour (color) green mean to you ? Relative and subjective thoughts.
this blue green is the same color as the metropolitan wagons in Paris : just sad
This particular green is the sea. Scuba diving.
Swimming pool
Also ghosts and the note C#
flutter should be 33rpm
the CD version plays as if it were at 45 rpm

@@markshephard909 in the Blech II mix it's @ 33rpm, it always sound too fast @ 45 but it's good too :)
@@YQN2149 doesn't sound too fast if you're used to it. I think the elements sound a bit too stretched at 33, although it's good that way too.
wait, that's not miku
shit you’re right it’s the exact same shade of blue
