from 24:00 it's my favourite part, how the massive percussion slowly grows into that back and forth between heavy ambient sounds and robot voices by 25:00, then growing into that triumphant melody by 26:00, finally turning into one of the most fucked up amazing beats by 26:37
all i can say is wow. i saw them on this tour, and it was a completely mind-melting experience. this was and is my favorite live set they've done, and now you guys have painstakingly recreated it. HUGE thanks to ios and digit! you guys are awesome, and ae is tops of the pops
Yeah, I much prefer it. I have to say I preferred it when they were mixing up hardware with software more, though. It just sounds so more interesting and engaging to me than the pure ITB stuff.
@@kalproc Well, Sean said i can't remember when that was damn accurate and he was respecting the hassle of recreating the show a lot ; it's not Autechre music but I think it's pretty close
@@kalprocThe fact that it exists at all and can be appreciated on the level of an official AE release means they deserve some credit. All the hours of unpaid labour that went into this. A true gift worth acknowledging. They earned their place in electronic music Valhalla.
I was at this show, and I was so beat from getting up early for work that I fell the fuck asleep on a couch in the back. I could not have appreciated this show then. Thanks to this maybe I can now.
this would be one of the greatest albums if it were released as an LP. and Autechre made it for the live shows . I can’t even describe the kind of genius that this takes
I was here at echoplex for this show years back! it’s so fantastic to hear this high quality version compared to the one field/fan recording that I’ve been thankful to listen back on every now & then… thank you!!
This is for me the best ever AE Live set - what an incredible job on the replication... I hope S&R hear this and post us all the original soundboard recording in appreciation of your efforts

can a talented artist pls animate an anime style Ron and Shane going at it on their respective Volca Beat and Volca keys in time for the durations of this recreations?? Thx
This is so much better than their modern live sets, I don't know wtf they are thinking with those. They make NTS Sessions look super accessible in comparison. I wish they were releasing their sets back in those days, when they still made an attempt to make them fun.
@@kalproc Yeah well they bore the crap out of me. There's only so much autism I can handle. Hope to see a new album soon, as I can still enjoy those. Even if I am not a huge fan of Sign/Plus (felt like a bit of letdown after Exai/Elseq/NTS) they still have their fun moments.
most of my favourite ae releases have been retrospective ones, like oh with the new album I finally get the previous one, or a concert after a new release has different expectations and framing then one after a long dry spell. funny thing is live they sound 'kinda like you remember, but wtf was that part?' but then you listen again later when teh recordings are available and woa, what a new perspective. This effort right here is an amazing addition to that dynamicin Ae's musical history, hat's off chaps!
@valcaron I find that first half of at least most of those original sets is more fun to me than most of these latest sets. Second half tends to get too noisy for my taste. I am reallly trying to get into that shit, thanks to these guys not releasing new album since 2020, but I find I can only enjoy parts of it. Athens and London B the ones I managed to enjoy the most but even those have parts that seem boring to me. The 2016/2018 sets however, I did manage to enjoy quite a bit eventually for the most part. Especially Dublin.
Autechre at Domino, 2010, is an Oversteps era gig and uptempo like this one. Very good. I assume you already know the Glasgow 2005 set, which is legendary.
@@Quaristice Thanks for the recommendations. The Glasgow one was top shelf, I'd heard of it but only actually listened to it after seeing your comment. Good looking out!
I have a question for Autechre fans. This seems to be a reproduction of a live performance. Did the live performance consist of new songs, unreleased songs, songs from older albums? I'm new to the band.
Great set amazing! Any chances to have more experiments like this? (different sets from different period of autechre style?) I purchased every single AE_LIVE set as a huge fan am i but I'm never tired of them!
This is amazing. Thank you for doing this. I’m fascinated by these Untilted/Quaristice sets, and was lucky enough to see them in 2005. I’m curious to know how much of the sounds are coming from the MPC? I always found them very hard and unintuitive to work with...
you can get a good idea from this video - the meat of the set is coming from the elektrons, the mpc is providing auxiliary layers th-cam.com/video/OT0z_7wBdQs/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SciFiIndustries
There's videos on here of people playing this set on just the elektrons and just the MPC, neither are as complete as this, but judging from those videos I think a lot of the more atmospheric elements are the MPC
@@expwaveshaper2111 so they used the patches? its almost exactly like the live show, its totally brilliant . they do everything s&r did. what a christmas present
@@cygnusvideo Hey man, ios here :) Used the patches indeed, but far from doing a real-time live performance like Ae.
