Something good to know: if you defeat an army which has a general from your list and that person offers to join you after the battle it still counts as having defeated that general. I got Xu Chu's bonus and himself that way.

I managed to fight the first battle at Chen and take off 1200 men off both armies. Made the next battle a piece of cake.
For future reference when trading for items, you can boost your food via increasing tax option that way you can get more points to bargain for good items at the beginning like the concubine
I don't think Lubu starts a high enough rank to manipulate tax rates? I could be wrong

Yes Lu Bu's betrayal of Liu Bei was historically accurate, and in his nature. It's a nice what-if scenario but historically Lu Bu took pretty much the only path possible for himself.
i think the dude explains in the video, LuBu killed two of his adoptive fathers. Dude was savage
lu bu did not respect liu bei probably because he was older than him, during that time most aspiring northeners wanted to be in service within the central china, likely to make a name for themselves since central china were more developed than the north and south so probably why many northeners seek jobs closer to the han for fame and wealth and not honor. Hence Why lu bu at the end suggested to work for cao cao and zilong gladly agreed to work for liu bei because they were both northeners.

If you fight the first battle with cao cao manually, sometimes he just charges in with his horse to the line of spear man and get killed. You can wipe out 2-3 infantry with oil.

Not understanding letting legendary characters live for my "viewing experience." My viewing experience is watching you crush this game as hard as possible becoming as strong as possible. That's enjoyable. Not watching you make the game harder for yourself, i enjoy watching you display your skill, if that is creating an advantage by killing a general and trading something then that is a smart play you should do.
haha so many people begged to spare everyone! plus since I am pretty stubborn with mods, I feel at least we should keep the unique models alive to prevent a generic only playthrough lol (sparing them also increase the chance we can recruit them in the future so maybe this will turn from just a beat them all campaign to even a collect them all campaign lol)
Recently I have found that I see myself sparing them not because they are unique but because it's boring to fight AI when every general is low level
sparing is good to recuit them later
You made me jump into another lu bu campaign i quit after i made a bee line for Zheng Jiang and Zhao Yun/Liu Bei because Cao Cao swept in and took all my land. Lu Bu is extremely fun to play as so i will look to your vids for guidance. Anyway great vid 👍🏼

I had a fairly easy Lu Bu campaign. I fled south and settled there. Course eventually I had to go back North to make checks off my list

You can straight up just beat both armies by your starting army+Zhang Liao. What I usually do is just beat XHD then reset movement and full sprint towards the city, recruiting Zhang Liao before turning to march stance. Dian Wei army will then attack you in the end turn but you can deploy in a position to snuff out Cao Cao weaker army first since it was just cav+ sword infantry. then between your army and the city garrison you can easily beat Dian Wei.

During my Lu Bu campaign I was able to recruit Huang Shao who appeared as a sentinel in my court, was going great until he levelled up and his skill tree disappeared, any idea what causes the YT generals to show up for han factions?
I don't think it is intended. We had Gong Du in our Yan Baihu campaign as well (also without a skill tree or any skills in battle lol)
Hey ST. Sadly He Yi got wiped and never wanted to show up on the field again. I spent 30 turns ambushing his parties, making sure at least 1 general and the units stayed alive. Meanwhile sun ce took out Yan Baihou, Lou Bei took out the bandit queen and then lost Zhao Yun to Yuan Shao. I was heartbroken. Love your videos. You do a great job. Thank you
I just found out the faction council is on a set table. I kept reloading my save to try to get extra construction on Luyong and reroll a negative trait for Cao Cao (he became Greedy). I noticed I only got both Luyong when I opened the council and closed it my 4th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 17th, and 24th (so far) and each time Cao would get the same traits. 4 was Loyal, 9 was Energetic, 12 Resourceful, 15 Artful, 17 Brave, and 24 Enigmatic. I know its possible to reroll the entire council's table by making a trade deal and probably a few other things I haven't tested. I didn't know if this was common knowledge or not.
I'm not sure if someone has mantioned it already but the resiliance you get from killing xu chu and Dian wei isn't just for Lu bu but rather every single General in your faction so even normalna lvl 1 General get it so it's actually decent

It's funny that when I started playing as Lu Bu at the end of the very first turn, both Gong Du and Huang Shao died. And when I restarted campaign, it happened again.
And the whole purpose of restarting was to handle bug with mercenary contract. I took a contract for He Yi, but the first quest was to destroy not He Yi's army, Yan Baihu. Fame and fortune does not decrease over time, and the mercenary lord does not offer me any gifts. And this happens to me very often, not only when Im playing Lu Bu, but other bandits as well. Have you ever faced this bug? Maybe you know how to fix it?
I have no seen the fame and fortune bug. Maybe I am just a bit lucky

What I did was playing on Normal-Normal and ditch every army on Lu Bu, leaving him alone
Both of those guys doesn't seem to ask for a duel
It is interesting that you mentioned about but did not use Lu Bu's faction unique assignment “Inspire Commandery“, which gives huge bonus to constructions both cost reduction to offset the faction debuff and -3 construction time is just insane, much superior than the traditional supervise construction assignment. It costs 2 momentum, but since you are fighting battles almost non-stop, should be fairly easy to keep momentum at high level and still be able to afford the cost of that assignment.
Single, Kong Rong and Desperate are not the words I would expect to find in the same sentence.

I think there are some charcters on Lu Bu's list that don't have resilience I suggest going after them first (after you Crush Cao Cao's curs) since they can die fairly quickly losing a set bonus for you.
They reference a Vine in the Greatest Warriors description of the Scholars

rewatching this classic. One min/max I learnt was that any outcome to a duel only gives 100xp UNLESS you PROPOSE AND WIN for 2500xp! so reject then counter-propose is usually fine for me, barring where they don't want to duel when you counter. source is script in fast.pack file.

kinda hope they change his court momentum spender into some sort of "spar" mechanic so you can just recruit people and be able to get there bonus.That way you don't have to do some gamey way to get there bonus plus an incentive to spend momentum instead of just simple temp satisfaction. Also hope ur run goes better than mine, beat cao cao and yuan shu into becoming my vassals, they both betray me on same turn instant -45 treachery.... yay. Hope they scale back the prestige gain as well, playing with a slower prestige gain mod and i'm a duke on turn 14.
OMG IFKR. It is so annoying that you can't spar with targeted generals.
When the character is on the other side of the map from Lu Bu and defeated by my other army.
It is even more annoying when Sun Ren is within my faction and I had to freaking kick her out of the faction in order to get the bonus. Even finding her again is another gamble.

you should try MtU mod with Lu Bu, it’s so fun! I was able to keep my first city just by summon liao, Gao shun, and Diao in Chen, pull Lu Bu Back after defeat xiahou bros, and delegate when cao is 2 armies seige the city first turn, can win wiith close victory. MTU mod has gears and his daughter becomes a champaign much better. And Lady Du is with Lu Bu, so i divorced Lady Yan, married her to receive Lu Jun after few turns, which is sweet only 2% payment to Liu Chong since you’ll trade with him. And this mod will count Zhang Liao as completed. And marry Lady Du for her faction bonus as Heir, instead of Diao Chan since she’s so so.But Sun Ce no longer have imperial seal outside :( maybe equipped to himself at start of game.

Know this is old but should you excute faction leader as the dlc for Lu bu the first mission is to defeat Lu bu should you keep fighting him until you make him a vassal ? And does similarly in the x or check mark even matter where as Lu bu starts with that big blue dude but it has a x which shows bad relationship but weren’t they in the same army in real life why is it x?
The disharmony will cause a satisfaction drop. If your other satisfaction factors are high enough then it should be fine. As for whether you want to keep factions as vassals or eliminate them. That’s all up to you

I know this is an old vid, but I can't understand why whenever I trade with Sun Ce he never has the jade seal on offer!
I believe they patched the game to have the seal equip already on turn 1 to prevent people from always trading for it

I found it near impossible on normal now with Cao Cao’s new mechanics. He just schemes everything with depleted supplies and food, and bankruptcy comes every corner making it hard to sustain even 8 units. It sucks

@@JGu3rra The AI script is terribly buggy & stupid. I tried 3 campaigns & no matter how long I wait, in the end Liu Biao forces come to destroy He Yi last settlement. I think the only sure fire way to respawn He Yi (it’s random number generation to pick general in his recruit pool) is to destroy Liu Biao first & kill all He Yi’s general until he has to show up. The AI still can generate all bs generals into He Yi recruit pool though to make u more frustrate.
why you did not reload the save game and start over? for better start? does lu bu has historical items in inventory? i mean gold legendary items?
I am very much against save scumming thus why I play on legendary. Make the best of the current situation
@@SeriousTrivia you are right its not what i meant but if you want make things more historically accuarate maybe some generals should have historical items too. But i dont think is actual possible because of the RNG(accessories,followers). Only Zhao Yun has blue blade weapon.
which is also not historical as he doesn't acquire that weapon until 207

Weapon are mostly from romance so the novel romance of the three kingdom usually covers most of the info

you just have to be in the battle, you don't have to actually land the last hit
How do you move your entire formation forward without having to select the formation again...?
three ways. 1) use the keyboard arrow keys or wasd to move them forward, 2) use alt plus right click, or 3) lock the formation with a grouping then just right click

Lu Bu wasn't free, but basically bailed out from Chang'an with the boys from Bingzhou after Guo Si dueled him (crazy tough champion of a thug could survive a wrist scratch from the Sky Piercer, 'tis but his flesh wound) , avenge the foster father of Diaochan
Would it still be worth keeping Zhang Miao for his potential heir/prime minister benefits (and despite his charitable trait con for this) even if you have to pay 150 a turn?
Potentially since his bonus basically counteracts Lu Bu’s debuff although I think it’s still better for Lu Bu to hold almost no land and make a ton of vassals

It’s always a chance, but if you release them they will gain fondness so the next time you capture them they will have a much higher chance of joining you
If some random number generators decided to give them deep seat grudge against Lu Bu, they will never join u, no matter what u try.

@@SeriousTrivia Could you please be so kind and tell me whats the difference? I am really enjoying this game but it feels so easy even on legendary... However i am playing with extreme unit size and this might be an answer i am looking for
the map size, siege weapons, and some of the stats don't scale with unit size. The game seems to only scale the damage and health pool for the units which makes things slightly unbalanced. Especially if you like to abuse ranged the map size not scaling make the enemy units denser in a sense and your end up doing more damage than you would on large (just as an example).

If guan yu with god of war was in a duel with lu bu, who would win?
I mean according to the novel, Guan Yu needed Zhang Fei and Liu Bei to just tie Lu Bu so . . . historically, generals rarely dueled but Lu Bu did strike fear into Liu Bei's forces in the Xu Province so I would wager Lu Bu was quite fearsome in terms of individual prowress.
You should have just grabbed the titles bug fix mod too.

Why southern was so weak compared with north or central dynasties in Chinese history?
This has to do with population. Take the three kingdoms period. The population ratio at the time between the north and the south was probably around 85-15
LuoYang is the ancient capitol and was found in the north. Typically a nations capitol and the surrounding regions are more wealthy. South western China was thick jungle with tribal villages, the north was more 'civilised' and had better technology and infrastructure, which typically leads to common people migrating north for work leading to a denser population as Serious points out :D
