Just bought number 74 :-) Its an amazing boat. Thank you for such stunning video. Now, I can referring to the video when the people ask me to show pictures of the boat. Seeing her as work in progress in Ellös in February was fascinating. Thank you !
Absolutely stunning boat with video production to match. Thank you for taking the time to showcase the smallest yacht in your line. I would have no problem coastal cruising OR making a passage in this boat when properly equipped. This fills a very specific niche and frankly there is no comparison with any 40' and under "production" boat and the 340 overall. Thanks again, Hallberg Rassy and team. Well done, Jonas.
Jumping on the saloon table 😂 ... beautiful small yacht, great to see every aspect of the use has been included in the design, it give the finished product elegance.
Jonas, great presentation. I am looking forward to open yard later this summer to see the yard and see how my new 340 is going to be built. Before you know it my 340 will be built and ready to be transported to her home port of Annapolis next year. I'm so happy to have been able to purchase a 340. Eric K
I’m in awe and cannot wait to sail her next year !! The video tour is quite amazing too. The archipelago around Ellös is as beautiful as Sydney Pittwater.
Thank you Jonas. Well done. I find the idea of walking youtube viewers through these interesting sailboats excellent. If you find time to do it, please continue. Cheers.
Wonderful presentation - thank you very much! I may not belong to the buying class, but seeing the yacht is simply beautiful and makes the ageing heart beat at a younger pace. It's not often that something is so inspiring!
I've watched this video about 5 times or more now. Has to be one of the nicest 34 "feeters" on the market. I suspect the price is high but if you can afford it, I'm sure it will hold better value than some of the less expensive brands. This could be a nice first AND last boat for me.
I just watched again and had to stop at the 6:20 mark to write how happy it makes me that you properly tie on the cleat. Too often we see a mess on a cleat. Yours is clean and perfect.
Wow! That was an excellent review. Wish all the models had this level of review for them.-- QUESTION -- What some would want to learn about is the dual unprotected rudders. What is the actual danger using unprotected rudders vs the skeg that you normally had previously? Can you speak about real world experience with these? How often has one broken due to hit logs or shallow reefs or something and what happens if you do hit? Will water sink the boat? what safety is built in to ensure that a rudder hit will not sink you.
It is and old incorrect myth that a skeg should give some kind of protection. In opposite, the rudder system used here is safer, with less exposed rudder depth and more safety margin. It is all a question of dimensioning. And also that skeg hung rudders cannot use self adjusting bearings, which is the case here, taking up more load than a skeg hung rudder. We have delivered hundreds of boats with this set up seen on the 340 and never had a structural rudder issue. Still avoiding crashing into an underwater rock or a reef is always a good idea. There is a collision bulkhead on the 340, steering and some hoses need to go through but the emergency bilge pump should cope with even a water ingress if you damage the boat by running aground.
@@HallbergRassy412 ..that is good to hear. Starting to really like dual rudders. Can you dry out the boat on a beach and have it stand on the dual rudders and the keel?
@@Coleen-Love The yacht can stand on its keel provided there is a static load and that you have sufficient side support by posts. The rudders are not designed for that purpose and also too shallow for that.
Jonas, amazing boat and amazing video. Can you please answer a couple of questions? For a longer passage - say an ARC crossing - would you recommend putting a portable electric cooler in the starboard cockpit locker due to the smaller size of the top-loading fridge? I'll bet this boat equipped with an Elstrom blue-water runner headed downwind on the ARC passage would absolutely fly!
Fantastic video ! I love HR and after a 46 now we sail the world ocean with a 53 …. But as you know… age increases and feet boat decreases!!! Why not after 90000 miles she could be the right answer for an aged skipper!
@HR can you explain why the yard has chosen for double steering wheels and a bathing platform? I know standard spec is with tiller, but I feel that there is less and less demand for that, especially in this size.
It is so easy to move around in the cockpit with twin wheels, and you see the sails and the maneuvers in the marina so much better when you get out on the side. And you have a chart plotter and control buttons within easy reach too. The fold out swim platform is great, extends the useable area of the big cockpit further. But if you for some reason do not want that comfort, or are used to a tiller and no swim platform, this model is available with tiller and no fold-out platform, it is even standard.
Nice long form review would've been great if you would've mentioned the headroom in the different areas of the cabin or the length of the benches.. To sleep on...
Oh do explain what the old myth is.... It is a fact that you go without the power of your propeller wash onto the rudder and cannot use this power to stear the boat. This means you cannot make tight turns with a little boost on the throttle. Also, you are prevented from directing the propeller pressure when side-to and maneuvering in a forespring to turn out the stern. In the end you "need" a bow thruster on a boat not even close to eleven meters long.... Ridiculous in my opinion. I think that this yacht has become a victim of "fashion" .... Two steering wheels and a bathing platform, just like any other big box brand, just at a very, very premium price.
@@surfsailorking It is obvious that you have not tried this boat in real life. You are invited to come and try it, then you will understand. In reverse you don't have any propeller wash to any rudder blade, no matter the number of rudder blades. But a well designed twin rudder boat is easier to steer in reverse than a single rudder boat. To make tight turns is more a matter of a well designed boat, with correctly positioned and shaped rudder blades and the same with the keel. And for any new build, it makes sense with a bow thruster in any tight marina, no matter if the yacht is well designed or not. If you use the boat in real life, you will understand how easy it is to move around in the cockpit with twin wheels, and how well you see the sails and the maneuvers in the marina. Not to speak about the convenience with a fold out swim platform.
Of all the yachts I can't afford, I like this one the most.
Hallberg-Rassy boats are always well thought out, well built and beautiful. This is the finest 34 sailboat I've ever seen.
What do you think of the looks of this boat…it looks very awkward/podgy to me 😱 I’m rather surprised, esp. the stern.
I actually thought she lay very nicely in the water while sailing... definitely one of the most beautiful modern 30footers I've looked at on video.
Check Out a Sirius 35 DS
These are beautiful videos, please keep them coming for all your models!
The best "small boat", no doubt. On my wish list since I first knew about it.
If you had a 'Press to buy' button at the end of this video, you would have had a sale! 😊 Beautifully done.
really??
how much is it?

Gorgeous boat, amazing scenery, great video - what an amazing brand and builder. Well done!

One of the best walk-through “tours” I’ve seen. Great presentation.
What a lovely way to show off your new 34ft, very informative, thank you for your trouble. Good wishes.
Probably the best 34 money can buy, thank you for this video.

Great video Jonas. What a fantastic little (big) boat. Now where did I leave my chequebook....?
Your boats are just perfect. If time and money permits, I will become your customer one day!
Make one of these longer films for the 40C please! 🙏
Wish more manufacturers would do this. Those 3 minute videos just don't cut it.

Two different boats in this movie, right? For example, stereo is fusion and car radio...
Yes, correct, two different boats
I was thinking about this model and length for a large lake for fresh water sailing.
Gorgeous❤❤❤

Great! Very like
Jag älskar att du säger "shart" istället för "chart"❤
Tiller steering is standard and wheels are a option? Just something I think is a bit....not cool. IMO
Очень классная лодка,все есть и ничего лишнего.
Какая цена этой красоты?
Did I miss something where was the nav table
Takk så mykket!
Please address below deck windows.
What does the keel look like? Is the rudder blade protected by a skeg?

What about maneuvering in reverse in a marina? Twin rudders are not ideal for that.
