I think his iteration for Megatron was perfect. Everyone has their own favorites voice actor for Megatron but I like his because it kind of like a more modern version of it with his own swag to it
Great film. Megatron is the most interesting character in the whole story. Excellent development for a villain who actually views himself as the Hero. Brian Tyree Henry gives a superb performance.
I got TWO Transformers for Christmas, one year. Shockwave and Soundwave (who had the cool vocoder voice, and had cassette tapes that transformed into spies in the shape of birds and a dog). Both on the villain side. That was a good Christmas for this kid.
@@Infinitesimal-ho7it absolutely. Ravage is supposed to be a panther. They weirdly made him a wolf in the Bumblebee movie, but he's always been a large cat otherwise
@@sailordaigurren8225 but who can say? Unless someone talks to the original animators. Doberman's were popular in the eighties, so maybe that's where I make the connection. Traditionally, dobermans' tails were bobbed, and Ravage's tail is long in the cartoon. Could be a greyhound. ;) I'm a cat person myself. I'm fine if Ravage is supposed to be a panther.
@Infinitesimal-ho7it FWIW, his name in the Japanese cartoon is "Jaguar" and, when he returned in Beast Wars, he was based on Cheetor's model. But seems that other countries in translation were all over the place.
Probably my 3rd favorite Megatron performance. First is Prime and 2nd is War and Fall of Cybertron games. I hope to see him getting to play full tyrant mode, and he could easily jump up my ranks
@DeviantDork I guess everyone are bad people because villains like Darth Vader or joker are beloved just because a villain is good doesn't make people who love them bad.
2:46 That "villain" comment tho! Such a brilliant insight into how to play an antagonist like a real person not a stereotype. I want him in my trpg group.
One thing that takes away from this interview? I don't think Bryan Tyree Henry intended it, but that's stolen art with regards to the Megatron suit. That's some fan art they copied off the internet. Because if a fan had been sourced and celebrated, the Transforming Jackals would have been happy. That artists drew that out of love, but they still deserve fiscal compensation for your drip, sir.
maybe the happy meal transformers didn't dig deep enough into mcdonalds lore what if there were other, remaining happy meal transformers whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo could it be now who could it
how did you feel about rise of the beasts? curious to see other people's opinions, to me it's one of the best live-action, 2nd only to '07 Transformers.
He did decent on the voice towards the end but I think for the next film or maybe even the last one get Peter Cullen and frank welker back since it would be so fitting
Brian's right. Sash it up! Suits are not only boring, they are untrustworthy outside banks and courtrooms (which aren't trustworthy anyway). If men insist on wearing suits then at least make them splashy and sashy.
CORRECTION: you guys do this weird thing with sound where when they come out, it feels like were underwater, but then right before you say "hey welcome Brian Tyree Henry" the audience comes in hard and its strange, and why do you do it, and please stop it?
sooo the interviewer never understood the character of megatron either callin him villain over and over ^^ theres no good and evil in transformers , either side killed for their goal

When he fought starscream i imagined a younger punk kid standing up to a mob boss and now i cant unsee it.
At the end he almost sounds like frank welker.
sort of like Jake Johnson as peter b parker, fresh, new and modern but honestly amazing casting

That’s most villains in a nutshell here and there. They see themselves as the heroes and think they’re justified.
His part in Bullet Train is... perfect!!! Such an underrated movie...

Panther, not dog 🤓
@@sailordaigurren8225 is it? I always saw it like a doberman pincer in the cartoon.

I loved him on "Bullet Train" a very likeable villain 😀. Very talented actor and he seems like he would be fun to work with!
Probably my 3rd favorite Megatron performance. First is Prime and 2nd is War and Fall of Cybertron games. I hope to see him getting to play full tyrant mode, and he could easily jump up my ranks
Frank Welker will always the goat for Megatron. But Brian did a good job, the transition from D-16 to Megatron was awesome.
Spoiler for Transformers One! Ignore if you haven’t seen it yet.
Sentinel Prime is a Diesel.
I understood that reference
Ooooooh I love you Brian Tyree Henry I love your voice with D-16 Megatron I love you man d-16
The villains were always cooler. Always.
I saved Cookie Crunch box-tops to get my Emperor Palpatine fig! I also loved the Gold mask Destro fig when he went rogue against Cobra
You probably think that because you're a not a good person.
@DeviantDork I guess everyone are bad people because villains like Darth Vader or joker are beloved just because a villain is good doesn't make people who love them bad.
Except that Optimus Prime is absolutely the best Transformers character
You gawd damn right brotha
Grey suit was a nice touch
Megatron/D-16 was my favorite character in Transformers One.
We love brian tyree henry and seth meyers

Much love for Paperboy/ he's very good.
This man rocks! Can't wait for the new Transformers movie.
This movie was amazing

GET BRYAN TYREE HENRY ON FAMILY TRIPS NOW
1:33 Yep, he’s Megatron!
He was great as Hamlet, Gielgud or Burton couldn't have done it better
Hahahahahahaha that's a good one! Funny stuff

hilarious interview!!!
Love him!
Hard to believe he’s one year older than me.
Great great movie. Nuff said! Go see it!
And he’s an Oscar nom, too.
briannnnn❤
Out here doing PR for villains lol

I'm still mourning his death on walking dead lol
It’s Lemon ….. but no Tangerine!😢
Hopefully there will be a stand alone prequel about the misadventures of “Lemon & Tangerine”.
Paper Boi!
I was happy with his voice acting. He did a better job than Chris Helmworths.
He could be cleon if they remake the warriors
Love him in Atlantic, truly great actor
sooo the interviewer never understood the character of megatron either callin him villain over and over ^^ theres no good and evil in transformers , either side killed for their goal
