Very handy trick. I have one outside light with a screw socket and all the rest are bayonet and when the bulb goes I have plenty of LED bayonet bulbs and not one screw in . I'll definitely be doing this.
My hand sprung a leak🤣. Should have included stabbing my hand in the video for extra dramatic effect.😂😂😂. I'm always trying to liberate blood from my fingers!
I have a very small bayonet socket in entertainment center, want to put in a standard e26 base decorative bulb, can you show how or what adapter piece to use Please?
In order to get the right adapter, you firstly need to know what size your bayonet base is. eBay sell many different types of adaptors. Or you can try to swap the bases over. Also are the lamps the same voltage rating?
Fes r Fing? Fes ✅ Fes (screw cap holder bulb / edison screw base E27 thread fitting / USA n Europe) n Fing (pin cap holder bulb / bayonet base B22 fitting / UK, British colony, Asia)? 00:44
You can but I'm not a big fan of using adapters for E27 bulbs. The adapter allows you to change the polarity of the screw fitting which is technically "dangerous". It's quick and easy to do and you can recycle a base from a failed old bulb.
@@MyProjectBoxChannel only B22 (socket) to E27 (bulb) adapters carry this risk. The other way is safe as the live and neutral connectors are removed at the same time. The one potential risk I can imagine from such an adapter is accidentally putting your fingers in the socket and touching the live pin.
In the UK is easy to find a adaptor from e27 to b22. But on the island of madeira its all e27, and it's not so easy to get a adaptor from b22 to e27. Amazon won't even deliver here. So it's worth switching out the endcaps
Adapters can be pretty dangerous as if you put them in the wrong way there is a chance of getting electrocuted. Probably best to change the whole fitting from the videos I have been watching as I want to change mine. Now in the uk it’s much harder to buy the bayonet fittings on the high street
Extremely helpful video. Thank you big time!!!
Glad it helped!
5:11 does it matter which wire you bend to the side?
No either one is fine👍😉

Me alegro de que te haya funcionado. estoy feliz de ayudar
Thanks a lot. The Edison cap of my smart led bulb popped out when my robot vacuum dropped the lamp, thanks to you I quickly reassembled it back.
No problem! happy to be of service. 😉👍 Better fixing it, rather than throwing it in the bin and it goes into landfill.

Awesome stuff!
But what about swapping from Edison screw in to the bayonet?
Is that a screwdriver stab wound on your left hand? Can be tricky prising stuff open!

Thank you works brilliant
It’s a good idea but why don’t you just use a e27 to b22 adapter then you can use them aswell when you go back to the uk
To be honest, I think it looks ugly 🤣

Ty my héroe
No sooder gun , so i guess this trick is out of questions for me
Well I never…. Didn’t know you could do that
Do I detect a South African accent 😀
Yes😉
Or just buy an adapter from the one to the other.

@@mmoonman13 I prefer no to use a adapter, just because it looks ugly🤣. There are safer B22 to E27 adaptors th-cam.com/video/Sdd-54U-sqk/w-d-xo.html
An adapter only costs a couple of euros/dollars/pounds. It's not worth the hassle converting the lamp. I certainly wouldn't bother.

Mmm 🤔 just buy a new one and it won’t fall over your head
