Margot did the right thing. She was not nominated. She showed up as a professional and to be taken seriously, not a self-promoting buffoon. Kudos to her.
Emma stone won because it was a far better performance and a LEADING performance... Lily should have been put in supporting. Not cool what you are trying to say about Emma having important friends. Except for the SAG, she won every award for this role

If that is what one ultimately prefers, of course they wouldn’t see the merit in something that is intentionally full of more brevity.
Margot didn’t wear pink to allow America to wear pink because she was personally nominated and representing the film. Not because her spirit was broken. Lol Ryan wore pink during his performance too.
lol I thought that too. The amount of lobbying and trying to convince people Barbie is this artistic masterpiece and the greatest script ever is silly. It’s a fun movie about a girls toy with some feminist messages thrown in there. Not too much deeper than that. The way Grace talks about it though you would have thought it kicked off the feminist cultural revolution that instilled a matriarchal society 😂 Sorry Grace nobody else thinks of it like that.
Grace, the thing about Poor Things is that she doesn't REMAIN a child's mind, she grows up pretty early on in the movie, and it's made clear that she does -- and in fact the adult Bella's experiences reflect a lot of AUTISTIC and NEURODIVERSE experiences IRL, including receiving infantilization from others. When she is young and ppl are taking advantage of her, that's meant to reflect on how men objectify and use women, and take advantage of them, and that commentary IS supposed to be uncomfortable. But what's clear the whole time is that Bella knows her mind and will regardless, and that's the beauty of it. The men suffer because they don't respect her will. It's a great movie, once in a decade kind of movies, and I would have hoped your read on it would have been more on the mark. Emma Stone pulled out all the stops, and deserved the award. She had more screen time than Lily, and was a central character, which Lily's character should have been as well. She deserved her Oscar. Love ya anyway, though Grace! ☺
Oppenheimer was a story that needed to be told on the level Christopher Nolan did and I think all involved did an amazing job bringing it to life. I know there have been other movies based on what happened and nothing against the other movies nominated this year but youre talking about a movie based on a real person who both simultaneiously saved and potentially doomed the world.
The In Memoriam was one of the worst, primarily because of how it was produced. They need to just go back to playing music with names and faces against a very large screen. And it should be ONLY about creatives. Not executives. The Academy Awards was created for creatives. Only my opinion, but that is where I stand, and it's a very tall hill.
I don't like Emma Stone. But, diversity means you must give awards to a half white woman Gladstone, not for her performance, but for the incredible fact of being half white only.
To be fair though, this is bound to happen when we've turned everything into a trend. And past a certain point this had happened, I guess.
