If I remember correctly when I played this game's beta, the overall theme of it is extremely post-apocalyptic where mankind is holding on by a thread. So I find it hilarious that the only way to get the best weapons to help save mankind is by way of a randomized vending machine. Jokes aside - they went pure mobile gaming when it came to the monetization. Your explanation on how it all worked immediately gave me Genshin Impact vibes - a game I really liked but inevitably quit for many of the reasons stated here. Yeah, definitely waiting for First Descendant. Let's hope it doesn't also fall into this sort of monetization.
I generally enjoy gachas becasue they have some of the best character- and especially team building focus, but if you dont offer that and just take the worst of the gacha monetization...not great
5:41 there might be a reason why this game has this. there's this game called snowbreak: containment zone. so this game is a gacha as well that has character pulls and weapons. the main difference here is the weapons have their own banners you can pull against. I personally prefer this because depending on when you do this you either have A) a 50% chance up when pulling or B) you are guaranteed an SSR or legendary weapon pull after so many. Synced using a slot machine like this with no real way to "hone in" on what you want is very predatory yes.
There is one thing I realised just now is the power level thing actually affects our actual attack/defence stats. So if you get stuck in PVE missions early on and don’t have any immediate weapon upgrades just try install the chips with highest power level available and forget about the buffs. For example many people get stuck at 1-10 when most of us reach that part at around 2500 power level. The boss fight is just ridiculously bullet sponge and can one shot us easily. However if you replay 1-9 for a few times you can get your power level at around 4000 the mission will suddenly become way more manageable. Boss still hits hard but your bullets will melt it like 5 times faster. It probably isn’t going to help near end game since afterall they need to make money. Still this already exceeded my expectations personally when it actually allows me to have 20+ hours of fun so far without straight up forcing me to pay.
The game is simply unbelievable it’s different to everything that is on the market. It is a small combination aspect of valuable law and shooters but it has its own personality and concept. It’s totally different and that build that you can make in his game. No of the game has it not even division.
Sad, but not surprised. Games like these which I typically enjoy are just driving me towards already established titles and offline singleplayer games. I know I'm one person but I refuse to play games like these anymore despite how fun they look.
For me Deadly Tortoise is the best pve weapon so far with its damage buff and recoil reduction. Meaning you don’t need full upgrade to make it powerful. The downside is you either get it from late missions or have to spend real money on battle pass.
Like this is basically a free destiny combined with tom clancy, with very unique sync system, very nice graphics and very smooth gameplay, yet I could not find a match (only 74 players average at the moment) This truly shows how diluted the gaming space is and how bad the marketing for this must have been, I found it by surprise and the first impressions were above expectations.. All the hype for once human but now I see where they get that visually stunning backpack from, truly cannot believe this game is not played much..
Ive played a lot of gacha games and I have to say, gacha for weapons is not that big deal. In fact, collecting common weapons is better than getting epic or legendary ones just because you can upgrade them easier. My rare weapons is better than my epic and legendary weapons. Does it feels bad? Ofc. You like legendary weapons and you reilaze upgrade process is rng based with cash in system. Sure you can farm it and I did farm some of it. Dont like it? Dont play it. That is easiest way to show your response. Thats the language they understand.
Don't forget that's how fortnite became as big as it is now. People investing into the game with what you call "gatcha" system will help build the game. And honestly to me, if the content is worth it then why not?! From what I've seen after looking over all of what the shop has to offer, you can get all the same "premium stuff" through the free game play, so if you have the money then why not?? The content is very worth it. I'm actually happy to spend 5, 10, 15 seldomly to get really cool stuff to use in a really cool game. Honestly if more games were free to start and used this same system, by the time we spend to a amount of what normal games cost upfront($50-70), the game will have made good money..players will have gotten really good, cool stuff and developers will make sure to get all the "bugs" out and work in everything we as players ask for. Don't be triggered by the "gatcha" system..most AAA games are $70 to even play anyways. What would you rather have? A AAA $70 game that's very disappointing and lack luster that you play maybe 10 hours and never pick back up...or a free to start playing game that since it's free and is a awesome game you decide to invest a little $ and get the good stuff quicker which in turn will make developers make the game even better? I'd definitely argue the latter is better.
It's gambling, it's illegal in multiple countries which is why the game is not available for players in those countries. Being a PR person and calling it awesome and fun is laughable
@TacticalPotato yea , that's what people said about fortnite too when it first came out. It didn't hold up in America's court because the same "items" are attainable through free play of the game. My comment wasn't saying anyone's opinion is beneath mine regardless of occupation, just clarifying the view of paying money up front for AAA garbage games vs. Free to play/win big is a concept more developer's should accept and can be the makings of a gaming juggernaut (fortnite). Anyone that doesn't get that idea, shouldn't be reviewing games outside their genre. Now that's laughable
Hearing something like that is totally when I'd point someone to Warframe if they were interested but with the Heirloom stuff going on I just can't do that either. Its getting harder and harder to ever recommend F2P games anymore.
I get the wariness when it comes to Heirlooms, but I agree with the other guy. If they affected gameplay I'd also dissuade people from playing Warframe, but they're purely cosmetic. Disturbing, worrisome, and predatory, but also cosmetic. Let's just hope they hear the backlash and do some more changes or simply don't continue.
@@lonelyoni8978 I'd actually prefer a FOMO weapon, because they'll eventually release something better for free. But a cosmetic however, there's never gonna be a direct upgrade if you like exactly how that cosmetic looks

It’s totally different and that build that you can make in his game. No of the game has it not even division and it looks beautiful.
Question is, do you think the game will have longevity? And, are the BiS weapons marginally better in PvP/PvE or are they a great variable apart? I really wanna play and stick it out, but your opinion and input would really guide me in my decision. Just started trying out Warframe, but I loved Destiny for some time. Synced feels just a tad closer to Destiny than Warframe
Great variable more than anything. You can have a strong build based around blue/purple weapons depending on mods etc. As for longevity, that's a tough one. For me it's a game that has a short life span.
I feel that this game has something nice going with it and if the game in the long run gets better then it has a real chance of staying alive if it get a dedicated fan base. Right now I'm worried but hopeful for this game.
Like in Warframe its all RNG i did not spend dime and get 2 legendary and 2 epic weapons for that first x10 you get in campain , then a buy 5$ pack and get another 2 epic . Buying in long run dont have seance becouse you need HUNDREDS of weapon "parts" to lvl them .
well i'll give it a shot once it's released, but taters there is one thing you should remember. First Descendant is made by Nexon. Although they are somewhat redeemed on their mobile game, it remains to be seen how the monetization will be on PC. At the very least cosmetic is definitely on plate. I wouldn't be surprised if they also put gacha there. But at very least Nexon knows how to put safety net on their gacha
Usually, I don’t mind the gatcha system. If there are only prestige skins you could get from gatchas, that’s fine. Now, if there are weapons that give you more power in gatchas… I won’t even download the game. There are numerous games that are making an incredible amount of money on skins, so there is no need for a P2W system. Would someone be kind to let me know if those gatchas have P2W weapons/gear?
It's like borderlands meets honaki impact 3rd. I ignore gacha stuff in games like these pretty easy but I understand how it can be frustrating to see all the cool gun and not be able to use em. Still it's a nice play it once a week type of game, gacha games don't last long anyway especially if they aren't anime games.
Whats good is you DONT even need those weapons. Im using the Pocket Rocket LMG with the inner circle maxed and the outer a lil over half way and it wipes literally everything. Its a great CC weapon as well. I dont think snipers and shotguns are the way. Bullet sponges need bullets. Im sticking with LMGs and an AR or SMG pickup. Like no shit, I dont even upgrade myself or spawn my companion until the last zones usually. I just use the guardian for the ADS shield and as a distraction. I play solo as well. Im in Master Ops+ and only playing as F2P. Not buying squat and doing just fine.
Pocket rocket is easily their mercy to F2P players. Not sure how far it can be used in future updates but for now it is definitely usable in any situation. It is a bit repetitive to use the same gun through the whole time but if it can help me to survive the mission I take it.
in terms of overall gameplay it got only better, this monetization is not an issue and actually good for f2p players, because of the gacha, it feels amazing to get lucky and get that shiny new weapon and even if you dont get very lucky you will just grind it guarantee anyway, all popular gacha games are like that and they are extremely popular for that reason
You start with a melee weapon. They are mostly used for staggering enemies or triggering stat buffs or something. You can’t just melee your way to victory.
Well this is a big dissapointment personally. I was really looking forward to this game because the basic gameplay concepts were cool and I loved the design langauage. However, overzealous monetization and gacha are big red flags for me. As someone who really got into to a FTP with expensive gacha once, I committed to never again play such a game again.
ea is to blame for this grievous annoying lootbox that really force you or not to use real $ to either get better loot or dumb cosmetics thats present in most games
