You’re exactly right John! People are so emotional. Kind of disgusting. I personally don’t want to run it back. We need to move on and start building a team, with a team concept, not about one person. I hope the new GM and coach doesn’t want him back.

I agree and wouldn't want him back but just to play devil's advocate. If you cut him who will play QB next year? Tyrod hasn't played a snap not only for us but for any team. He's going to be 36, injury prone, wasn't considered that good when he was young. The QB drafted last year, hasn't played a snap, and cold water was thrown on any idea he be able to play this year. That leaves picking late in a bad QB draft or the free agent pool that is terrible.

@@petercofrancesco9812 I don't think you have to answer this question right now. Let things play out. You don't know for sure who will be cut or available for a low cost trade.

The term you are looking for is "Recency bias". As the name implies, this is the tendency to overweight the most recent events in our analysis of the past. Focusing on the most recent two games, where Rogers has played well, and discounting the majority of the rest of the season, where Rogers has played like a QB on the wrong side of 40, is a classic case of this particular type of challenge to rational decision making.

Ok, how about you include other context like he was playing through multiple injuries, has no head coach and bad overall coaching, and needed time to get his groove back from an Achilles injury. There isn't any better option than him for 2025. If he leaves, you might as well clean house. No one will want to stay.

We all know how you feel. You have made that abundantly clear. However, I believe it is not "obvious" that Rodgers should not return. I don't think the Jets will be a Super Bowl team whether they bring Rodgers and Adams back or not. But what are the Jets's options at QB? And please don't tell me Jameis Winston. His performance Sunday should put an end to that consideration. Sam Darnold and Geno Smith are not coming back to the Jets. The Jets will not have the ability to draft one of the few elite QB prospects. I would let the new GM & HC make the call on whether to bring Rodgers and Adams back.

    • @CombinatorialImplosi
      @CombinatorialImplosi 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Honestly, I don't think having Jameis Winston would be worse than having Aaron Rogers AND paying him like the superstar he was rather than the QB he is AND structuring the coaching and player decisions around him (e.g. Lazard and Hackett). When they announced the move to acquire Rogers, I was dubious, perhaps it was memories from the last time the Jets got a former Green Bay QB and brought him back as a re-tread, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Now, after an abysmal season with Rogers actually under center, as opposed to out injured, I think there is enough evidence to declare this experiment a failure.

It's not impossible to run it back if the player's involved will restructure their contracts. However in principle I agree with you. Both players are past their prime and Rodgers is very likely to get hurt again. The Jets don't have a SB team, much less a team that can win a playoff game, even if they manage to become a wild card team. There are many holes on this Jet's team and you need to get a GM and coach who would agree to go with Rodgers and Adams along with the same offensive system because it's unlikely Rodgers will want to learn a new offensive scheme.

Don't worry, after the Buffalo game, the debate of running it back with AR would be over.

The only reason I would run it back is if they dominate the next couple of games and carry that momentum to next yr. Other than that I don't want Rodgers back but I do want to keep DA. Regardless of his age as a WR he definitely compliments G5 really well.

They beat probably the worse team in the NFL that had a backup QB. I had serious doubts about Rodgers at 40 BEFORE he was traded to the Jets. Time to turn the page (AGAIN).

A win over Jax doesn’t tell us much, let’s see what happens after the remaining games have been played. Rodger’s might be the best option but the age and the financial ramifications should prevent us from bringing him back.

Bigger dead cap hit in 2026 than you would have in 2025 if you don’t run it back with him, if I understand the situation correctly. So if you aren’t going to win no matter if it’s AR or a new qb, go with the new qb. Much much cheaper that way. Allows for actual spending in 2026.

Your stats about Jet Fan Interviews just proves that Jey Fans are fickle. Robert Saleh proved himself totally unworthy of having the skills to run any offense. He appointed an Offense Coordinator that was totally inept. Mike Lafleur was the Best Brother of Saleh's Best Bud. Lafleur in competence showed out as pure Political Patronage. Saleh did absolutely nothing to develop Zach Wilson. Then when Zach went Tootsies up Saleh responded by lateraling Offensive Responsibilities to Aaron Rodgers and his entourage. It more than abundantly clear why the Jets are a mess. At least this
Playoff Season we can watch Sam Darnold and wonder what could have been

Love your podcast but you are on the wrong track here.
    Super Bowl! SUPER BOWL!!
The Jets are not making the Super Bowl any time soon but the question is do the Jets have a better chance of making the playoffs with Rogers than without him that is the question and some reasonable people may be believe that with Rogers and Adams we can or have our best chance to make the playoffs.
Forget Super Bowl, the goal is competent play that might get us into the playoffs!
