The storm system will push east over the country bringing the conditions to eastern parts later in the day. Temperatures near the average, but feeling cold due to the strong wind chill effect. A red warning for wind is out for southwest England and Wales. An amber warning for wind is in effect for Wales, southwest England, northwest England, and Northern Ireland, and an amber warning for rain is also out for Wales. A yellow wind warning is out for southern Scotland and the rest of England, while a yellow rain warning is also out for southern Scotland. There is a yellow snow warning for central Scotland. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 07/12/2024. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Aidan McGivern.

Please don't panic too much, we have gone through the worst of the storm here in the west of Ireland (Red Alert/Warning) and it was not too bad, the worst of the gusts only lasted about 2 hrs and it is moving very fast. Stay safe everyone in the UK, love from Ireland xxxx
Thanks!
Glad it went fast. Northern Ireland, East coast here and it has been full on through the night, and still going strong. Perhaps it's because we are near the sea.
My glass greenhouse lost it's paneling from it haha, it's the worst storm I'm ever seen in my short existence at-least

Temp power cuts in Dorset, SSE on the ball, scary gusts but dry at the mo.
What a nanny state this place is I used to walk to school in weather like this.

Corrugated barns have blown away, one went past my window around 5 am that was scary 😟
Can still hear it blowing around somewhere or one of the others.
Stay safe everyone!
Thank you, Alex.
As Lance Corporal Jones used to say, "Don't panic! Doooon't panic!"
All 3 of my wheelie bins were making a bid for freedom so had to put them in the garage until it calms down.
You got 3, i got 1 and a half bins.. I bet i pay more as well 😂
Three bins, you lucky thing, mine only fell over so can stay outside for being lazy,
@@jensmith3719 General waste, recycling and garden waste. It's a pain trying to remember which day is which so I have to look which the neighbours have put out
I'm on a hillside in South Wales, it's absolutely howling outside, looking forward to daylight to see the damage
Hope you’re doing ok there. I’m on top of a hill on the SW Cornish coast, wind direction NWN with gusts up to 77 mph. Been thinking about you guys in the Celtic lands of Wales and Ireland. All the best!
Fence panels down in my garden. Can see neighbours with tile damage on their houses.
It's definitely a bad one here in Burnham on sea.
The winds are crazy here in London 100km/h gusts (I live on a hill) can only imagine what it must be like in Wales
It's very bad here in Staffordshire too. Howling like a mad wolf, all night. Now that it's daylight I'm watching the trash cans flying down the street...
I zig zagged into work around the bins and tree branches...
Am in Liverpool, entire garden flooded and ornaments everywhere! We are only on amber, hope those in red areas are ok.
In my area in this storm, I had a red weather warning but I'm ok now
Here in Oxfordshire it has been pretty rough, although I've been feeling rough myself so I guess I could stay at home and chill out for a while. Thanks for the report.
Thanks Alex.
Red area here, Coastal South Wales, it's been absolutely horrible all night, the wind hasn't let up at all
Appreciated as always…
Decided to chance a run to the local 24-hour shop to grab some milk and bread, could barely stand up straight in the wind and it felt like I just got out of a cold shower when I eventually made it to the shop. They weren't lying, it do be windy
Heckin' wimdy
Happy there's no wind where I am
@Fifi6799 We'll send some your way :D
Nothing here in Doncaster
@@Jablicek lol it is really calm where I am near Manchester
Woke up to all my Christmas decorations flying around the street 😂😢

Lol 😂
we were warned
Southern Exmoor. Was up at 6am picking up debris. Lost a chunk of shed roof. No power. The dying Ash trees have been stripped of the dead branches. Not much rain, but there's a bite in the wind. Ventured into the lane, it wasn't too bad but some gusts are much more intense in the last hour.
Stay safe people 🌀
Take care all
yes take care
Yes.
Thank you it's a great help
Was a bad night to camp outside in my garden. It was in tents 😂😂😂. Sorry couldn't help it.

Scary weather is here. Wish everybody’s stay safe.
I can hear the wind outside it is wild😂
I'm not in the red zone and we already have fences down and we haven't even reached peak wind strength yet. Going to be a day for hunkering down and soup.
I’m in Liverpool and the wind is happening now
Stay safe you guys at the met office
Alex, Was that a streak of lightening from Storm Darragh across the screen? Keep safe everyone.

Only if you are inside
Kite flying weather,

Very many thanks indeed Alex. Well, didn't expect it, but we had a relatively peaceful night...then the wind was terrible! The wind now has squalls instead of gusts. Precious little rain - yet. STILL TAKE CARE FOLKS!!
Disappointed they didn't name it Storm Daniels
😂😂One day, one day.

North Somerset blowing at utter hooly.
That was a very rough night in Northern Ireland. Still very windy. Lots of trees and powerlines down. Be safe everyone
Thanks
Strongest winds on the backside

Thankful for the flood defence system in Cardiff, relatively low risk of flooding despite being low lying land and down river.
Hello from Highland Perthshire. Windier here than we expected and have lost power. Also snowed heavily overnight. Looks pretty though....
Everyone look after your self merry Christmas 🌲☃️
I do feel for folk in flood areas so horrid to have that rotton and cold . But honestly nothing we can do about get your wellies on wrap up Don’t be scared for the day you will never see.
Yep feeling it in stoke-on-trent Staffordshire. Horrendous 😮
Quiet in Central Scotland just now
The winds in London are sounding FIERCE outside my bedroom window!!!
This is the only time I'm worried living in my van 😢

Stay safe . Go to a hotel maybe , just for one night ❤
We are up in the hills 8 miles from Bridgend town.time 11-55. Bad winds and rain.😮
Just raining out se London bit of wind nothing drastic 👍🏻
Why would you make 100+mph winds the same colour as the night time sea colour?
Wheelie bins gone over
Red Warning for people walking down the street with pizza boxes from the takeaway
Very blustery and rainy in Norwich. Nowt to write home about mind.
Has been a very noisy night in Brecon s wales powerful guts of wind seems to have eased here since a few hours ago. I found Dennis and isha a few months ago worse…
I gotta work in this!😂
Hope your not a roofer
Actually, if you are,can you pop round as we've just lost a tile.
Gotta say I love living in the North East, we never seem to get hit by really bad weather, compared to the rest of the country.
i will rememmber that if ever move again or even survive this, in 9 months new home has been flooded and now this mini hurricane, my cats are not too pleased with me
there goes all outside christmas decoration plans.
I’m in North East England and in the eye of the storm waiting for the next battering.
Been watching trash cans flying down the street all night... can't get any sleep in that racket.
It was bad here in dublin, could only imagine what the west of Ireland was like with the exposure of the Atlantic ocean
my washing line is down
The lamppost outside my house is literally shaking, I won't be surprised it goes down. Only just got me roof done!😬 still surprised only a yellow warning in place, considering wind upto 60.
We've experienced weather again !
The government will keep me safe and warm - in my dreams.
I’m in the UK it’s very wind
Get ya kites ooot
In the 70's it was wet with strong winds, some damage possible. Today its multicouloured warnings and they name it to make it super scary!
In the 70s people wore flares. Times change
They name it to help people become more informed so they can take any appropriate action
In the 70s you could buy a house for a lollipop 🍭. Get your head out of the past.
The music was a lot better @@callumglass
Grow up boomer
North Devon citizens had Government red zone warning. Notice it's only in yellow zone on map.
It'll be a nefarious conspiracy undoubtedly
South Hams as well
Some secret agency trying to get you to put on a warmer jumper
Can't wait for the 25 degree temps issued with dark red heat warning! Must definitely be climate.....
Power outage Carmarthenshire since 2am lots flying debris
Me in the red warning but I actually think it’s not bad it’s just daily rain 😃
Red warning is the worst one!
3:07 i saw lightning 🥸
it's great that we get these weather warnings but why, living in exeter, do i watch the news and see a red warning for wales, then five minutes later my mobile phone goes off like world war 3 has started and it's telling me that i'm living in the red zone; confusing as hell and before long people are going to start ignoring warnings all together; stay safe everyone
I am in London now , is it safe to drive Pontypridd
You drove from pontypridd to London?
@ yesterday I came from Pontypridd to London. Now I stuck in car in London . I want to go Pontypridd.
Can you also plz give some update on which epl fixtures will be called off 🤔
Still waiting for the windy day here in Edinburgh, seems the kick off time is always being delayed on the hour every hour
There is no power in the west of Ireland at the moment. One huge lighting strike last night knocked off the power
Nooo I can’t go to the polar express anymore😢
Living near bad weather warnings for Sunday I am quite worried
So far it's been fine, had a red alert and well nothing major yet.
Outdoor Xmas decs at risk of becoming projectiles - take care everyone
Amateur radio stations check your antennas 😂
Dont worry, stores will still be open in the red zone. Despite a lack of customers 😕
Might get the big coat out for the dog walk later then
I notice the various news channels are doing the usual rounds trying to find something to report on.
Hopefully they don't - but it does feel like they are vultures just wanting a big news story.
Just watched a sky news report which featured part of Cornwall and the sea, usual footage of reporter and it must be said, really just a very windy day.
The camera focussed on two swimmers and interviewed a single fisherman on the beach, whose gear blew over.
Cut back to the studio "I can't believe all those people swimming and fishermen out!"
What, all three of them?
I get it - this weather can be exceptionally dangerous and the Met Office is doing a fantastic job warning people.
The media, however, are doing a terrible job trying to scare everyone... as usual.
For me it’s just loud wind and a bit of water
Hello Alex how are you thank you for the update of the alful weather forecast lol I amit going anywhere best wishes take care stay safe from Lynn x ❤😅😅
