Always use CheatEngine or Trainers to fix your game from bad armchair developer design decisions. Never play their game. And with that, i don't mean the video game.
also, just because i like the numbers on gunshots in borderlands and in tf2 doesn't mean i want them in almost every other shooter. the fantasy of shooting a gun falls apart when there's hitsplats and health bars.
I would sugest to make the next Far Cry a really dark and gritty game. I wouldn't make it that you are a one man army and can kill anyone in your path, but someone that has a really limited access to weapons and ammunition and slowly progress towards becoming more powerful but still mantaining a feeling that you can be dead at every second. Basically Far Cry 2 with a character progression like Jason from 3 but without you becoming the supreme ass kicker by the end. Edit: Where it said gritty said greedy.

BUT HEY. you can buy XP boosts and money boosts... this stupid ubisoft greedy corporate bullshit.
Fortunately this isn't 1997 anymore and there are literally thousands of worthwhile games floating around worth going back to play. Why would anyone waste money on something like this or Anthem is beyond me...

Bit of a Necro but Yes .. a lot of post nuclear apocalypse games have pushed this trope that the world would be a barren wasteland after a nuclear fallout. Chernobyl and more recently Fukushima show that nature will very quickly reclaim a area..sure plants, animals and even humans will show a increase in radiation and tumor levels but life will adapt and flourish.
Ponen Longchar I think the reason for that is most games about a nuclear fallout take place only months after the fallout. This game is seventeen years which is enough time for nature to come back

Honestly, I wouldn't pay a dollar more than 25 for this game. Overlooking the fact that it is a reskin of FC5, 8 hours to beat the main story is just way too little for someone like me who has a tendency of rushing through games. And believe it or not, but I'm not actually super stoked at the idea of playing through Hope County over again.
I wouldn't even pay 1 for this game... because even I were to get this pretty much free, it looks so unbelievably boring I don't see myself touching this at all when there is other great games out at the same time
Pretty much, the previous Far Cry also gave me that impression. Try Dead Cells, its cheaper, with lots of content, action packed combat, constant dev support and content is unlocked by actual skilled play rather than mindless grind.

Glad to hear that someone actually acknowledges Joseph Seed as a decent Far Cry villain. His presence and aura always struck me as complex and interesting to me.
He was genuinely a great and compelling villain. The whole christian doomsday aesthetic really struck close to home to me. I've never gotten the outrage there, they've done a bunch of other cultures already, why not ours? They even make the "villains" nuanced and understandable to some degree, I don't get any karens complaining about this.
New Dawn sounds similar to Blood Dragon, a modded version of the previous game sold as a stand-alone instead of an expansion pack. Your open honesty that comes through your videos when watching these reviews is always refreshing. It is one of the main reasons I keep coming back, even if I never pick up the game you review. Keep it up gggman, keep it up.

Do people not know that every main Farcry game gets a "out there" revamp of the map? Blood dragon? Primal? They use the same map, they're basically treated like "expansions" to the numbered games
I hate the trope in triple A games where there's a wannabe charismatic villain that constantly shows up to fuck with the player. But we're never allowed to kill them because of contrived plot reasons, and they never do anything that threatening beyond wacking a side character or two.
I think I'll pass on this one, the game looks quite fun tho. I just can't accept that they added grind just to make microtransactions seem more innocent. It feels as if someone would offer you a lift home but charge you for it and you'll be like "Nah, I'm fine"
I personally believe I had the most fun in New Dawn out of 3, 4, Primal, & 5. Its sofar short lived as the fasted time at two days taking it SLOW, but the system changes gave me a reason to care. Instead of money I have to have different materials? Awesome. I waited until the near end for the expeditions and Im impressed by the locations available (so far on expedition 4 and planning to grab the spinter cell armor in the next one) but overall I felt it was a great game and enough of a change in the farcry systems to give me a good time I started to not feel from the others. Enough to where I missed the sale of farcry 6 and im kicking myself for it. I want to give it a chance but I only want to go in to complete my (uncompleted) ultimate edition collection and now my only option is to stop farcry and wait for another sale or fork over 120 for it.

Honestly, after replaying Far Cry 4 these past two weeks, Pagan (imo) is a far greater antagonist than either Joseph or Vaas. Unlike both, Pagan is likeable. You get he's crazy, but he's the type of protagonist that can genuinely wue one in. He has a calm demeanor and, to an extent, a degree of wisdom compared to Vaas and Joseph. If you read between the lines and play devils advocate you could argue that he really wasn't all that bad of a king/ leader despite his tyranny. Unlike Amita he was willing to keep the culture preserved up until the point of Ajay's meddling, and unlike Sabal he was willing to seperate outdated tradions from culture defining traits. The only real issue he had was his need for power, which like always, leads to corruption.

Far Cry 2 isn't about the story. The story is just there to give you a reason to be in Africa. It's about writing your own story. If they "made the story better", as you say, it would likely translate to hour long cutscenes and railroaded missions that you can only complete in a specific manner.
When are people gonna learn it doesn't work when you try to make a masculinized female antagonist...you can have a female antagonist and make it work well but she has to be a villain in the way that women are sometimes villains. They tried to make two female macho villains and, as always, its simply pathetic lol

Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about. It is a very good game. I am having a lot of fun playing it. So what if it works and looks like the previous and has the same mechanics? That's Far Cry from the 3rd edition. I recommend playinf Far Cry 5, having a year break from it and then start New Dawn. It is then perfectly "edible" ;) P.S. but yeah... the twins are really not "main evil" character material.
Ubisoft really needs to go back to the drawing board with Far Cry. 5 was a bland open world with weak sounding weapons and a forgettable plot(I know the twist ending, but it's not as surprising as the nuke in Modern Warfare 4). Now there's this leveling up and loot system which shows that they're merging gameplay systems from the Division just to show it's different from the previous game. The problem is that if they copied New Dawn and sold it again, folks would still buy it. Which kind of shows the sort of stagnation open worlds are becoming now and co-op doesn't always spell good game.
'Bout the ending in the FC5, my real complaint is...Did not scream for a Cliffhanger! Let's face it! After the nukes are blown away and realistic, not blinding and killing the protagonist and the antagonist...You see they are into some bullshit. And also a major point, Far Cry entered in the bandwaggon of Post-Apocalipse like Doom Eternal(yes, it is), Atomic Heart, Metro Exodus, Rage 2 and....what else comes later
gathering resources to upgrade guns because bullet to the head is just not enough..... I liked fc3 system as how to liberate outposts. You have a gun with properties that is same in all levels ( or rather states) and you choose which one to use to suit you or in the scenario. Equipping stuff for just damage is ridiculous and instant dislike to this piece of shit (not to your channel as it is quite good).
Nah, it would waste a ton of drive space. FC 5 was what, 50GB? Now another 30+ GB on top of that is not exactly what people are asking for. I doubt many kept FC 5 installed. It has very little replay value. If at all. And the DLCs are an insult. So bad.
I feel like the expeditions in New Dawn were it's biggest strength. They were fun and each map felt unique. What it did need, however, was more stealth. Stealth has always been a staple of the FC series. Expeditions would have been improved greatly if they were treated like outposts (i.e., the ability to complete them undetected). What would of been awesome is after you took the package, enemies would begin looking for you while you wait for extraction. If they detect you, they call for reinforcements just like outposts. If you get away undetected, you get bonuses. That would of improved the game a lot if you ask me.
Ubisoft is becoming the real shit. Their games are no longer different. It's always the same game but with different skin. Far cry, assassin's creed, wild lands and division, they are all the same.
Far Cry games as they are now (meaning everything after Far Cry 2) would be the perfect platform to make a game in the style of what Prey 2 would have been. Futuristic bounty hunter game would work perfectly. Things like tagging enemies wouldn't be immersion breaking, in fact it would be enhancing the feel of tracking down a target. The arcady over the top gameplay systems would work perfectly in a futuristic setting. I'm just wondering why they haven't done this yet...
I think ubisoft mistook Highwaymen for Nomads/ Brigands. Highwaymen were bandits that attacked travellers, while Nomands/ Brigands were bands of nomadic people that maintained themselves by attacking, robbing and destroying other settlements.

Far cry primal is actually a pretty good game. Survival mode is a must. And it’s one of the reasons why developers and publishers don’t stray away from being an unoriginal. Doesn’t sell.
I loved Primal on survival mode. Loved it so much that i platinumed it on ps4. I really wish they added some dinosaurs into it. We really need more dinosaur games that dont suck.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay a dollar more than 25 for this game. Overlooking the fact that it is a reskin of FC5, 8 hours to beat the main story is just way too little for someone like me who has a tendency of rushing through games. And believe it or not, but I'm not actually super stoked at the idea of playing through Hope County over again.

Pretty much, the previous Far Cry also gave me that impression. Try Dead Cells, its cheaper, with lots of content, action packed combat, constant dev support and content is unlocked by actual skilled play rather than mindless grind.

Glad to hear that someone actually acknowledges Joseph Seed as a decent Far Cry villain. His presence and aura always struck me as complex and interesting to me.
He was genuinely a great and compelling villain. The whole christian doomsday aesthetic really struck close to home to me. I've never gotten the outrage there, they've done a bunch of other cultures already, why not ours? They even make the "villains" nuanced and understandable to some degree, I don't get any karens complaining about this.

I love the idea but it is almost impossible to dismember someone with a small saw blade. It's too likely to be stopped while in the arm or leg.
I personally believe I had the most fun in New Dawn out of 3, 4, Primal, & 5. Its sofar short lived as the fasted time at two days taking it SLOW, but the system changes gave me a reason to care. Instead of money I have to have different materials? Awesome. I waited until the near end for the expeditions and Im impressed by the locations available (so far on expedition 4 and planning to grab the spinter cell armor in the next one) but overall I felt it was a great game and enough of a change in the farcry systems to give me a good time I started to not feel from the others. Enough to where I missed the sale of farcry 6 and im kicking myself for it. I want to give it a chance but I only want to go in to complete my (uncompleted) ultimate edition collection and now my only option is to stop farcry and wait for another sale or fork over 120 for it.

Honestly, after replaying Far Cry 4 these past two weeks, Pagan (imo) is a far greater antagonist than either Joseph or Vaas. Unlike both, Pagan is likeable. You get he's crazy, but he's the type of protagonist that can genuinely wue one in. He has a calm demeanor and, to an extent, a degree of wisdom compared to Vaas and Joseph. If you read between the lines and play devils advocate you could argue that he really wasn't all that bad of a king/ leader despite his tyranny. Unlike Amita he was willing to keep the culture preserved up until the point of Ajay's meddling, and unlike Sabal he was willing to seperate outdated tradions from culture defining traits. The only real issue he had was his need for power, which like always, leads to corruption.

Far Cry 2 isn't about the story. The story is just there to give you a reason to be in Africa. It's about writing your own story.
If they "made the story better", as you say, it would likely translate to hour long cutscenes and railroaded missions that you can only complete in a specific manner.

Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about. It is a very good game. I am having a lot of fun playing it. So what if it works and looks like the previous and has the same mechanics? That's Far Cry from the 3rd edition. I recommend playinf Far Cry 5, having a year break from it and then start New Dawn. It is then perfectly "edible" ;) P.S. but yeah... the twins are really not "main evil" character material.

Ubisoft really needs to go back to the drawing board with Far Cry. 5 was a bland open world with weak sounding weapons and a forgettable plot(I know the twist ending, but it's not as surprising as the nuke in Modern Warfare 4). Now there's this leveling up and loot system which shows that they're merging gameplay systems from the Division just to show it's different from the previous game.
The problem is that if they copied New Dawn and sold it again, folks would still buy it. Which kind of shows the sort of stagnation open worlds are becoming now and co-op doesn't always spell good game.
'Bout the ending in the FC5, my real complaint is...Did not scream for a Cliffhanger!
Let's face it! After the nukes are blown away and realistic, not blinding and killing the protagonist and the antagonist...You see they are into some bullshit. And also a major point, Far Cry entered in the bandwaggon of Post-Apocalipse like Doom Eternal(yes, it is), Atomic Heart, Metro Exodus, Rage 2 and....what else comes later

gathering resources to upgrade guns because bullet to the head is just not enough..... I liked fc3 system as how to liberate outposts. You have a gun with properties that is same in all levels ( or rather states) and you choose which one to use to suit you or in the scenario. Equipping stuff for just damage is ridiculous and instant dislike to this piece of shit (not to your channel as it is quite good).

Nah, it would waste a ton of drive space. FC 5 was what, 50GB? Now another 30+ GB on top of that is not exactly what people are asking for. I doubt many kept FC 5 installed. It has very little replay value. If at all. And the DLCs are an insult. So bad.

I feel like the expeditions in New Dawn were it's biggest strength. They were fun and each map felt unique. What it did need, however, was more stealth. Stealth has always been a staple of the FC series. Expeditions would have been improved greatly if they were treated like outposts (i.e., the ability to complete them undetected). What would of been awesome is after you took the package, enemies would begin looking for you while you wait for extraction. If they detect you, they call for reinforcements just like outposts. If you get away undetected, you get bonuses. That would of improved the game a lot if you ask me.
Ubisoft is becoming the real shit. Their games are no longer different. It's always the same game but with different skin. Far cry, assassin's creed, wild lands and division, they are all the same.

Far Cry games as they are now (meaning everything after Far Cry 2) would be the perfect platform to make a game in the style of what Prey 2 would have been. Futuristic bounty hunter game would work perfectly. Things like tagging enemies wouldn't be immersion breaking, in fact it would be enhancing the feel of tracking down a target. The arcady over the top gameplay systems would work perfectly in a futuristic setting.
I'm just wondering why they haven't done this yet...

I think ubisoft mistook Highwaymen for Nomads/ Brigands. Highwaymen were bandits that attacked travellers, while Nomands/ Brigands were bands of nomadic people that maintained themselves by attacking, robbing and destroying other settlements.
