Religion and Morality | Divine Command Theory and Its Problems

In this lecture, I discuss the different roles that God may play in morality, narrowing down on the metaphysical grounding of objective morality in God as expressed by the Divine Command Theory. Then, I discuss the five objections to Divine Command Theory and responses to each. I end by noting how objective moral values, moral duties, and moral accountability fit better in theism (the view that God exists) than any other secular alternative.
