Did the same during the Abu Dhabi Marathon this past weekend except kept them in the blister pack as I’ve found they can dissolve if they come into contact with sweat or water. Worked a treat.
Another tip if you wanted to carry them loose whilst still prevent them dissolving is popping them into a zip lock freezer bag or equivalent pre race. This can be useful when going long and not wanting the packaging bulk 🙌
🤔 I’m not convinced about the tablets being unwrapped. Sweat, water you might pour over yourself for cooling… they dissolve pretty easily. I’m waiting for Precision to release a gel with salts. You can choose a caffeinated gel or not, how about a salty gel!?
We've actually given this a lot of thought, but settled on the benefits of separating out fuel and hydration as it allows for much greater flexibility. With such large variations in sweat sodium concentrations between individuals it would be really hard to pick a sodium content for a gel that would work for everyone. Would 200mg be suitable for enough athletes? What about 400mg? What if those athletes used 2 gels per hour some days but 4 on others, how would the sodium content impact their plan? Good question and never say never....but you might be waiting a while.

Patent pending 😂
That's actually a very smart hack. I accidentally dropped one during my last marathon while popping it out of the PFH blister pack
