I loved driving the Oshkosk M1070 HET. Big, powerful, and insane towing. I drove them in Germany. Pretty fun trying to drive them in those small towns! The craziest thing was we were wider, taller, and longer than 18 wheelers but we had a better turn radius than the 18 wheelers
Yeah but this video also messed up on 7 as well since that the replacement for the dragon wagon but the just listed a single configuration of the truck.
American egoism “bigger is better”!! As a former PATRIOT System Warrant Officer back in the 90’s, other nations (Japan and Germany for instance) that bought our systems and improved them eliminating trailers and flatbed loading on the prime movers or new outrigger systems as to improve maneuverability.
A civilian version of One and Two could sell well in Florida. Under Fla. law, anyone age 15 has a right to a learners' permit. 16, it is the right to an Operators'. Anyone who manages to pass high school drivers' ed DOES NOT have to take a road test. Several people have died within a month of a new license issued to a teen.
The number they should be sharing for Power Output is Torque. HP means much less in these type vehicles. The majority of tractor-trailer rigs in the USA only have 325-350hp.
Because they don’t need it. They need the torque. You should see what the Oshkosh trucks are like off road. Age old Carroll Shelby saying “horsepower sells cars, torque wins races”.
@@millennialtrucker6435 its because they would overheat at low speeds pulling very heavy loads, sports cars ae built to do high HP for only a few minutes vs hours on these trucks. electric semi trucks like the tesla semi offer 1,000HP sustained since it uses the exact same 3 motors they use in their 1020HP family car, these motors can offer full torque at any RPM and they spin over 20K RPM so they will make very high torque if geared correctly on their single reduction gear.
What a downgrade on the HEMTT. I drove one pulling a patriot launcher in Germany. Was in Germany in the late 80’s. It had a Detroit 8v92 with twin superchargers 1200 hp and could pull 60 tons (120000 lbs) 80 mph on the autobahn.
It was a supercharger turbo stack not twin superchargers which would have been completely pointless, the only use for a supercharger was because it’s a 2 stroke diesel requiring forced air to idle. It only put out 450 horse or 600 with het injectors. The 8v92 would explode at 1200 horse. I very much enjoyed the c15 upgrade in my wrecker because the Detroit couldn’t tow armored vehicles worth a damn and constantly had to get redone under that load. There’s a reason you can’t give that engine away for a semi driver
@@MIFU1989 they weren’t the worst engines for their time. They did well for low rpm consistent load applications such as ag and construction equipment but weren’t great for fuel consumption or road usage. They could hold their own against the 3406b or 3408b though and there’s reasons they haven’t been available as an option on semis for a while. I was in both the Detroit and cat powered wreckers and theirs a reason cat beats everything on reliability and output

As a wisconsinite I'm glad to know we produce some of the best land vehicles here in state
My LVS must be too old now. It was pretty fun listening to that Detroit scream.
Very nice 🤗 thank you for this Video
Honetly i love Oshkosh ATV
Great video! It would be nice if can do a similar one about Mercedes Benz, Iveco, etc. Thanks a lot!
I've been a Army mechanic for almost 17 years and never knew the PLS had 6,000 horsepower. Maybe I just heard it wrong at the 6:20 mark.
I was getting ready to say something that was thinking it it was true dang that’s a big motor
👍👍👍
so cool
Ignore the haters.
Your English is good.
I want a JLTV so bad LMAO
Love the hemtt too
I miss my wrecker what a rig
I've driven ALMOST all of them. Haven't had the chance to drive the tiny MRAPs. Maybe someday.
Heres a question because im european - why do the HEMMT have such an angled front of the cabin?
The Dragon Wagon is not the nickname of the HEMETT, but rather the USMC MHS vehicle as it is articulated.
And the original Dragon Wagon WW2 tank recovery vehicle.
There is a lack of actual knowledge in this video. The pls may had came with a c15 on the a4 variant but it never had 6000 ponies.
Yeah but this video also messed up on 7 as well since that the replacement for the dragon wagon but the just listed a single configuration of the truck.
It's interesting that they all have that around 300 mile range. Key word logistics

you are the best in the world the buzz
6,000hp?
You need that to pull a vehicle with a length of 810,7 meters😂
@@Shaitaan27 Thank you! I was wondering...

........... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
At least get the names right please, calling the HEMTT the dragon wagon is incorrect. The LVS is the dragon wagon.
Good but must to be made from iron infrontof not blastic like toys like hummer
Oshkosh B’Gosh!
The M1070A1 is B.A!!
The Top speed of the MTVR is definitely not 65 miles per hour I’ll tell you that
Channel Quality is struggling
Beautiful biggums
Incredible simple comparison
Again, Incredibly lacking
Osh Kosh Begosh Children's wear too 😂😂😂
Why Do most of the vehicles up until the nummer 6 have almost no Horse Power 😂
