@@serenak2001 you have to understand that lots of people are praying along with him including old people. It's better not to put pressure on anyone. It's all about the quality not quantity. All surahs have their own meaning and validation. The duration of your prayers is not important. The important thing is how much you mean the surah from your heart.

If our 'ulaama do not emphasize the importance of hifz when it comes to becoming a scholar surely something is wrong when we rely on them to explain the qur'an to us. The qur'an was built for memorization, and Allah loves those who memorize it and recite it during salaah. Picking the same short Surah 2x is just reckless, I guarantee you if you brought a 100 Muslims in a room and they watched this video vs a video of jummah salah in Falasteen they would assume this Ayatollah is just someone old whereas the imam in Falasteen would be considered far more knowledgable and wise merely for his firm grasp and memorization of the Qur'an. There is no compromise here - if you are a scholar, this case one of the highest levels of scholarship, your Arabic must be perfected and you have to know Allah's book by heart, especially when Allah told us the qur'an was built for memorization

He had looong prayers alone at night by himself. But when you're praying with other people you have to compromise. God does not care how long your prayer is! He cares about how quality and presence of heart when you're praying ,short or long. It's not a competition lol
