The prayer is valid according to the Maliki and Shafei Schools. The Maliki permitted سدل unfolded hands in prayers and the Shafei permitted raising the hands. I'm a Sunni and it hurts to see these ignorant South Asian and Indonesian Muslims who can hardly understand the Qur'an making hateful comments without any thorough knowledge of religion and just blindly follow their Sheikhs. The only debated aspect might be the 'Turbah' التربة the mud clay on which they make Sujood because they never existed during the Prophet or the Sahaba day and is absolutely a بدعة but it still doesn't make the prayer invalid, because it's just a surface like a mat.

I'm Sunni and I found this beautiful. I watched it twice in a row. I wonder if most Sunnis that are freaking out here realize that as Sunnis we don't pray the exact same way either. Jama'a prayer im Morocco for example is almost as different as it is Saudi Arabia. Fir example, We prayed with arms down (sadl) for centuries. I also have my political views, disappointments and resentments because of what going in in Syria and elsewhere. But don't let politics and sectarianism turn you into monsters that would justify killing Uthman, Omar and Ali in their prayers.
It's first time I see Shia prayer I didn't know it could be that different... But in the end your intenions count not how you do it. So for the Sunni's-Shia's stop over thinking it. Think about why you do it. If you are doing it with pure intentions how you do is not important. If you are doing it for show... Better not do it at all

The evidence that is used about the 73 sects is used by all sects from barlvis to salafis, everyone uses but why would it be yours? I'm Sunni and I found this beautiful. I watched it twice in a row. I wonder if most Sunnis that are freaking out here realize that as Sunnis we don't pray the exact same way either. Jama'a prayer im Morocco for example is almost as different as it is Saudi Arabia. Fir example, We prayed with arms down (sadl) for centuries. I also have my political views, disappointments and resentments because of what going in in Syria and elsewhere. But don't let politics and sectarianism turn you into monsters that would justify killing Uthman, Omar and Ali in their prayers.
