- It has now been 2 weeks since I left everything I had, and changed my life completely. I left the city for a more simple life at the Swedish countryside, a change I dreamt of for years. I now call the forest of Jämtland my home. And I can already tell how much I needed this!
But a picture is worth more than a thousands words, so instead of me trying to write how my life is like now, let me show you! ❤️

Incredible filming-skills! I just had a big change in my life also. And I am still adjusting to this suddenly so good feeling! Since I not allowed myself this change for too much years now. Waking up early in the morning and need a few moments to realize, that I don't have to feel this anxiety and pressure, because I don't have to go to this place anymore, but to another place, where I enjoy working and meet good, satisfied, grounded people everyday and don't have to face these mostly dark souls anymore. And now - I am feeling encouraged to follow my dreams and doing some steps if I feel so! 🤗🥰

I'm almost 48 and also had decided to move from the city to eco-village. I've understood that we need to follow our soul. Only then we are going to be happy. Even if famyliry of friend don't undestnadt it. We are living our lives, not theirs.

So many people dare not get out of their comfort zone. But I’m here to tell you, it’s the best thing ever! I too was a city boy. Now living int the rural area. I treasure my quiet moments. But I also get out and put myself among people. I love the interaction. It seems as if you have found the simple life exciting, and I would agree.

I'm so glad to have someone else here who has been going through a similar change! I love alone time, but I definitely think I'll end up putting myself out there among people! Probably even more than I've ever done in the city, to be honest. Because now it feels like I will actually have energy to be social! And that is so exciting! 😄
Oh, the water sure is cold - but that's also kinda the point! 😄 For an example, I don't drink coffee... So the cold water is a way for me to get a kick and wake up! ☺️

Hello Daniel. Take it easy with the repairs (one never ends with repairs and painting in country houses; it's also an annual routine for me). Beautiful the landscape up there these days. The light seems completely different from that of June. The colors are great.
Yes, I'll try to take it easy! 😅 Oh yes, the light changes quickly! It wasn't long ago it was never dark, but now it's coming back rapidly! And the weather has been way more dramatic (as it usually is here) in July compared to June. June was such an exceptional month when it comes to weather up here. Daniel, this is a great vlog. I want to say something carefully... If you ever fear people will think you're just lucky to live in Swedens north and that your vlog is too much like Jonnas don't listen, she's amazing and that careless judgement comes from jealousy. She has inspired you as with so many more of us, but you have things to say that she needs you to say. I totally wish I lived where you do, Semi rural Canada has it's beauty but we're mostly towns here and really ethereal places will be the question will I let this depress me because I don't live there or will I see the beauty of my town better because of a vlog like yours.
Stay refreshed and do whatever it takes to do this, sometimes it's a nap or staying up all night, or exercise, and sometimes it's a walk for blueberries. I pray you're doing great, from a fan from Canada

Of course sometimes even I get frustrated or things like that - but to hold on to those feeling only make me feel worse, often without any kind of resolution with what made me feel that way from the beginning. So I try to let things go rather quickly. As often as I can, at least! 🥰

What a beautiful part of the world. You are doing such a great job. If I might offer one piece of advice that would be you can't have to much firewood. You will go through more than you ever thought. In a worst case scenario if you have to much then you have a good start for the following year but if you don't have enough then you could find yourself in a bit of trouble. So don't be afraid to stock up! That pie looked so good by the way.
I know! I low key worry about this! I don't think I have enough! Sure, I have radiators too, but still! When it's very cold out side, I might need the help of a fire! I mean, it can go down to well under -30°C!

I can so relate to the life you're living. For seven summers I lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I worked part time, but I lived alone, and spent most of my day catching my own bait and fishing all day, cleaning what I caught and then eating it as the sun went down, listening to a Symphony of crickets and frogs.
It's been 15 years since the last summer I did it, and I still regard those summers as much of the best time of my life. I am still a loner, but because of where I live right now I spend much of my free time solo hiking. I do get to Cape Lookout once a year, though, and it's still amazing to hear nothing but the whisper of the wind in the trees.
Oh, I absolutely LOVE the symphony of crickets! It's one of the sounds that feels like "summer" the most for me!

I only just found and subscribed to your channel today. You do a beautiful job with your videos, despite the sadness I have seen in some already. As someone who did pretty much the same thing as you, but 20 years ago, I can assure you you will never regret your decision. My choices have taken me down paths I never would have imagined, doing things I wouldnt have believed. I only hope you can find someone special to share your life with in such a beautiful place. @@DanielErik Hi Daniel, thanks for replying to my comment. It's a long story, but in short, I used to work in a corporate office in the city and hated it. We bought a small farm in the country and started hobby farming, learning about caring for chickens, pigs, sheep and cattle, pasture and hay making etc. Eventually sold up in the city and moved permanently to the country. Started making products from the farm to sell, started milking sheep for our own dairy, raising calves and that led to small dairy farming which in turn led to commercial dairy farming 350 cows on 800 acres and we went to organic farming practices. Despite many difficulties along the way and a lot of learning, we were able to retire very early and have moved further into the country to just enjoy life. And by the way, your wood stacking was perfect!

Been there done this. Although different circumstances as I was up in the mountains but still provided the same solitude. I did have a truck to escape in if necessary. Winter is a challenge...you will chop more wood than you thought possible, and eating the same stuff over and over again might get monotonous. But if you are ok with living by yourself it can be transforming. Even though the mountains adventure is over, and I've had a couple more adventures since then, I feel like I can do anything now and am pretty self reliant and confident.
Beautiful country where you are at...lucky. I'd rather do without than take a bath in cold lake water tho, lol
Yes, I am concerned about the amount of wood I have, or rather... the lack there of! Fortunately I have electric radiators as well, so I won't die... Might just get a little bit more expensive, I guess!

@@DanielErik yes, i live in Finland😊 the van would be ready for the adventures of next summer😍 if after that summer i feel that it wasnt for me or smtg, i can always sell it. Then i know🙌 your video and words were like made for my situation. It is strange how fear and 'common sense' comes into picture when some dream is about to come true. Have a lovely august!! I was too impatient to watch this video that I didn't put on my (long) to watch list but am watching it right away 🙂. Must be amazing to wake up each day in such an incredible beautiful and peaceful place. While you are lucky, you have also been brave enough to take on this journey. I would image there a lot of projects to do in the Summer to get ready for the Winter. I'm glad things are going well for you and that you are happy in your decision.

@@DanielErik , you’re welcome. Yes, it will take a moment to adjust. But as you stated you’ll settle right in. I moved out of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles to a smaller coastal area not too far away. The people and the atmosphere are much more relaxed. I love being right next to the ocean. Long walks and also bike rides. Working in my garden also soothes the soul. LOL
this was such a beautiful video! every shot could be printed and framed..wow! I LOVE the fog. You guys did a lot of work! I miss those kinds of projects! I have a lot of similar memories :D
