Adrian that shaft with the worn splines is called the PTO input shaft. We had to replace it on our tractor 6 months ago. It's about a foot long, it only runs back about 3 inches further into the transmission from what you can see. It can be pulled out from the front without much ripping. We got our replacement shaft from John Conaty.

We drained a field with shallow stone shores in it a few years ago Adrian. We went down about 1-1.5 metres with the drains and anywhere we met the stone shores we filled the drain up to above the level of the stone shore with 3" stone, then ran weed barrier and straw over the top of the drains. Job done. Driest field we have now, delighted with how it turned out! 👍

I mole drained my fields some time back it’s the best thing I’ve done . The field drain quickly, you won’t regret getting one Adrian. As long as you work out the best way to run them it will do a great job it’s not something you can just put in the ground and think it going to work but done probably it’s great . 👍

I absolutely adore cows. They're the most fascinating, gentle and beautiful animals. Their eyes are so amazing. I have ten that live on the land around my house. I love to talk to them. There are few things better than falling asleep in a field and being woken up by an inquisitive cow.
