I must say, the extremely low oil volume in the raceday damper (where a lot of the weight saving is coming from) worries me. I can hardly believe the damper is any good unless you change oil very frequently. Oh and by the way, good video as always. I always try to make sure to like and leave a comment so you keep making them. They are different from the normal marketing speak.

Nice video - keep it up. For future comparison videos would love to see a quick side by side table of feature comparisons in the video, maybe at the end as a recap summary.

I am in Europe and the price difference between two is around 150 euros, so 150 gram difference for 150 euros, and improved and firmer damper sounds like a fair deal to me.

Almost exactly a year ago - on December 31, 2021 - I was lucky enough to buy Ultimate SL with 100 mm travel. When the fork arrived, I removed everything from the fork (ie, thru-axle, lockout) - and it weighed in at impressive 1309 grams - substantiating the claims for the lightest 29 inch XC fork out there. And that was with uncut steerer tube in a new condition. Now, late in December 2022 - another SID arrived, this time Select 100 mm - for my other XC bike. I couldn't easily remove the lockout (the cable tip was pressed on as it was a shopwindow fork previously installed on a bike - and I felt too cheap-a$$ to waste a perfectly good cable end) - but the steerer is cut to length. So I ended up holding the lockout in its cable at the same height as the fork while weighing - to make its effect on the result as negligeble as possible --- and the weight is 1470 g, w/o the thru-axle. Don't know why - but the numbers quoted in the video differ quite a lot. Anyway. Thanks for the video and greetings from Latvia.

A comparison, as in a user review, would be appreciated. The quickfacts videos you do are informative but they're more of a comparison between numbers. Perhaps you need to return the products "new in box" but it's still something you should think about imho. And I say this because you're a great presenter!

hello guys, i have the 100 mm sid SL ultimate on my bike, yes she is lighter than the select model but i think, the real difference comme to the charger race day damper, the ultimate is a really weapon for the race ! i have good feelling with it and i'm feel better in the technical zone, the jumps, the climbs.... i recomand it !

SID Ultimate is a finicky fork, which develops a ton of stiction, and the small bump suppleness disappeared after a few weeks and did not return after servicing. Then, the bushings went like I'm hearing is common with this fork. Replacing it with a 2022 SC fork.

This is exactly the video I’m looking for!
I have the SID SL Select. It’s a 32mm upper stanchion fork with Debonair and Charger RL.
The lower legs have something called a power bulge. If you feel and look closely, you’ll see it.
Do you prefer the liner Charger RL or the RaceDay damper?

I am told this is normal for the Charger RL damper, but doesn't seem right to me. Just wondered how much the compression firms between settings on your Select fork?

Nice comparison. Thinking about fork options for my bike. 100 mm travel carbon hardtail 2018 y. Currently it has OEM RS REBA-RL-A7. 100 mm. Mainly used for marathon and xc disciplines. Its time to make a service for my Reba. Thinking would it be noticeable difference to replace damper to Charger Race Day (cost about 170 Eur in Europe) or to change full fork with SID Select 100 mm (cost about 420 Eur in Europe). Or just make a regular service for Reba and call it day :) any thought? thanks

Do you still have the Rock Shox SID Select 120 fork? I sent mine back to Rock Shox and it came back the same. The damping adjuster doesn't do anything in the first 5 clicks and the last click it has a firm, but not total, lock out. I am trying to find another SID Select fork to compare. In the meantime I bought a Fox 34 SC and it works better in terms of damping adjustement.

    • @morkys2410

@@LoveMTB it's not the lockout I care about, it's the fact that there is no change in damping in the first 5 clicks. It feels like it's either fully open in the first 5 clicks, and then firm in the last click. It's on or off. I thought with 5-6 clicks it should have a range of adjustment.
