Wow! The photoshopped pics are so helpful! Makeup artists always advise eyebrows to start in line with your nose, and that obviously looks wrong on her! I do agree with comments that talk about keeping strong unique traits, I think she could tweeze the downward pointing ends of brows, clean up stray hairs as a middle ground!

I so want a consultation but it I know you would recommend a shorter hairstyle because a waist-length, naturally curly style(sort of like an 80’s hair band) is not very flattering on a 40 something year old lady. I love that you’re so detailed and take everything into account! The only thing I don’t totally agree with you is her eyebrows. Yes, there is a little improvement to the balance in her features with the higher and shorter brows. But her eyebrows are so gorgeous and perfect that I don’t think it’s worth it. Everyone has at least one feature that is eye catching. And it seems to me that sacrificing it for a slight improvement is not worth it. This girl’s two features are her eyes and brows. The brows you gave her went from gorgeous to ok. I’m curious what you think about this. For example, let’s say a girl has glorious, thick hair but she looks a little better with a bob, is it worth cutting it? I understand that sometimes people can improve a ton but I’m only curious when the improvement is smaller. Thank you for these videos.
I love your point! And I think this is where your personal preference comes in too. I try to be as objective as possible in providing my recommendations, so my focus is on the proportional aspect of the face. But if you really love your eyebrows or if you really love your thick hair, I think a proportional sacrifice is fine! If this client's priority was to keep the natural shape of her brows because it's a favorite feature of hers she wouldn't necessarily have to make any changes, but if her priority was to visually add length to her face, then she can take my recommendation on shorter & higher brows. I do make a note of this factor in my analysis that my recommendations are not the "end-all, be-all" because if you love something about yourself and it gives you confidence, that's all that matters at the end of the day! I hope that answers your question? :)
This is something i struggle with myself! I have, objectively speaking, very luscious, thick hair. It's very black, shiny, soft and thick. So when i grow my hair, it actually looks very healthy and shiny. The issue is, i feel that overall, the look doesn't suit my face or style. Basically i have super fine but thick hair...if that makes sense lol. As in, each strand of hair is soft and thin, but i have A LOT of it 😂😂 the end result is that when i have long hair in a single length flowing to my waist, it can sometimes get a little frizzy. This looks fine on most people, but as someone with a Soft Classic style type, it just gives me a slightly messed up look. Also, i feel that very long hair (while it looks nice from the back view!) drags my face down in some way - i can't exactly put my finger on why. So i compromise by keeping my hair around shoulder length and layering it from the cheekbones down. This allows me to have some length and show off my hair, but also cuts down excess weight at the ends and draws the attention more towards my face!
On a separate note, many hairstylists have told me, "oh you have such gorgeous natural hair, don't do anything to it!" But i think there are very few adult women who can actually pull off unstyled long hair that just falls in a single length down to the waist 😅 without adding at least some layers or colour to it...even if their hair itself maybe objectively healthy and beautiful. I have no idea why that is!

So thankful to your client for allowing her pics to be used ❤ most style channels use celebrity examples, which is fine of course, and i understand the practicality of it. But using pics of normal people is so much better haha. Because (as you said) celebrities look stunning in anything, so it is difficult to relate to at times. Of course, they are normal people too 😄 just that they have the kinda support (stylists, makeup artists, trainers, photographers, estheticians etc) that us ordinary mortals usually don't have access to 😅😅 so it can somewhat skew the end result!
Wow, you advice was so on target. I would love to see what hairstyle this client chose. And your remarks about cosmetic surgery are so true. Losing sight of the balance as changes are continually made will inevitably end in an unharmonious result. That is why the most successful cosmetic surgical results are from subtle changes (I am not referring to large changes needed for a more severe correction).

Oh there was not much thought going into the hairstyle to make a whole video about it LOL. I got my hair cut really short (like an inch below my ears) right after my wedding but I thought it looked a bit plain-ish, and I saw that having bleached strands was sort of a trend, so I decided to try it out! Knowing how much of a process bleaching my whole head blonde is, this style is a much better alternative for me. PLUS although I love going blonde, I look better with darker hair in general so this was a nice in-between :)

Hi! Yes - the new structure will still provide an in-depth proportional analysis. The difference is that for the different common hairstyles, instead of providing you with individual comments, the guide will provide you what kind of features and proportions work for certain styles or should avoid them! I have a question...as an older woman, I am not sure how to find my best style with an aging/changing face. My face seems to be thinner, my nose longer, and then there is looser skin around my jaw/chin/neck. Should I be trying to hide these things or work with them?
This is generally why women as we age opt for shorter haircuts 💇🏻♀️ it’s so the emphasis doesn’t get drawn downwards as much with longer hair! But in the end it all depends on your preference too ❤️

Also, bangs and a pixie might be difficult with her hair texture, which is beautiful btw, but can become harder to manage at a pixie length. What’s the point of things being more “proportional “ if it’s not beautifying, which I’m assuming is this clients goal. Or even the creator’s preference for softer brows bc they are more feminine when, at least through the camera, her face now feels a bit like it lacks definition. I promise this isn’t shade towards the creator. I guess I just don’t know what I’m not seeing or getting.

Your argument about plastic surgery is biased. You can say that about anything: people can get addicted to excessive make up, shopping, dyeing their hair, taking selfies, likes they get, social media, etc... There is nothing evil about plastic surgery. Also showing young conventionally attractive woman as an example where you don't recommend it is just silly. Well duh, she is already pretty, but many candidates for plastic surgery are deformed or look very uncanny with their features and experience bullying due to it. And you present only the stereotypical point of view.
