Could we have a video on the most *effective* potions for various types of characters? I’m thinking potions that have multiple beneficial or negative effects for warriors, sneak thieves, etc (with the negative effects being for poisons). Admittedly I haven’t finished the video yet, but eh.
@@buckashisensei Does it really work on high levels? I tried it multiple times (mainly because the description sounds sweet), but most enemies seem to be immune or extremely resistant to it.
I know there's a way to make a frenzy poison that also increases health regeneration, great for the sneak archer...but I forgot the ingredients....hope that helped

No lie, a crazy water breathing potion saved my life my first time defeating Mercer Frey. Lol. Could not find the way out forever. But I survived thanks to that crazy duration.
Alchemy exp is based on the value of the potion created, which is why the "giant's toe + creep cluster + wheat" is so popular. It's not about making money, but getting alchemy exp. Salmon roe is the only one of the #1 potion that's difficult to get, and it's easy enough to farm if you know the tricks to doing so (tricks that anyone that's watched your last video know).
Buy all the armor, clothing and soul gems from the general store, sell the potion, sell the armor to the blacksmith, sell the clothing to the castle mage. Keep the gems. Think of it as a TRADE.
One that I like to use, and gets higher than the wheat, giant toe, creep cluster, is Nirnroot and Crimson Nirnroot. They share all 4 effects, so each one gets multiplied pretty high
Sometimes I wonder if these Alchemists actually have someone they can re-sell all these potions to... Because the Guild Master is totally having them robbed.
Given how most alchemy shops only have 500 gold... I hardly see what good a 5000 gold potion does for you. Only thing I can think is finding one that trains you an then get your gold back selling potions

I will always remember my first time playing skyrim, being a long time elder scrolls fan. I put almost 1000 hours into one game file and became so incredibly powerful i changed in a collector, decorator, farmer and knowledge seeker i miss that time and wish i could experience again for the first time. I actually had pre ordered skyrim and was in line at gamestop for the midnight release. Found many secrets that i will always remember. The white phial was a fun quest. Always stay cool my friends.

Awesome video man. Inspired me to try an Alchemist build, and I think I found something that may interest you. Disclaimer for everything ahead I have Rare Curios from the creation club installed. There is one alchemical reagent combination that is more valuable. My character is level 100 in alchemy and has every perk except for the Purity perk. The reagent combination in the video Garlic + Salmon Roe + Nordic Barnacle = Potion of Waterbreathing worth 5208 Gold. Where as the reagent combination I discovered Fungus Stalk + Salmon Roe + Void Essence = Potion of Waterbreathing Worth 7398 Gold. The later potions effects are as follows Can breath underwater for 900 seconds. Health is increased by 75 points for 300 seconds. Stamina is increased by 75 points for 300 seconds. There may be even more valuable reagent combinations with the reagents added by the Rare Curios Creation, but I haven't found one yet.
I always just use salt piles and garlic to make regenerate magicka potions, the effect is nice for combat etc, the ingredient cost/availability is real nice and the profit margin is still like 100x the cost(with no gear or perks). Salt piles and garlic both commonly sell at alchemists and can be found in their shops, taverns etc. You can obtain possibly hundreds of salt piles at the riften docks(earlier in one trip I got just above 200) and inside of riften. Garlic can be bought at the middle stall in solitude(between the spiced wine stall and the hunter/fisherman stall) She will always have 3 garlic available to be bought, whether you want to save hit and reload to reset inv is up to you, but either way the sheer availability and usability make this potion amazing imo.
*The Elder Roll* Salmon Roe + Garlic + Nordic Barnacle --- Utilizing the Alchemy + Enchanting loop exploit alongside the reagents added by DLC & Creation Club, players can really take this to astronomical levels. I've brewed single potions with values exceeding 200,000 gold. --- And @Camelworks ... your videos are top notch Sera. The detail you go into, the clear love of language & alliteration you apply, the visual quality of content... it's all top notch. I consider you to be one if the best at what you publish.
Here's a top 10 list of my favorites 1. Salmon Roe - Nordic Barnicle - Garlic 2. Salmon Roe - Chicken's Egg - Salt Pile 3. Blue M Flower - Hanging Moss - Lavender 4. Purple M Flower - Wheat - Frost Mirriam 5. Red M Flower - Deathbell - Salt Pile 6. Giant's Toe - Wheat - Creep Cluster 7. Dragon's Tongue - Fly Amanita - Mora Tapinella 8. Deathbell - Jazbay Grapes - Salt Pile 9. Bear Claw - Chicken's Egg - Nightshade 10. Elves Ear - Chicken's Egg - Spider Egg Blue Mountain Flower and Hanging moss are in a lot of valuable potions and can be used up very quickly, but maybe this list can help with the other ingredients you come across easily.
Go with "Clear Skies" shout, to kill salmon to harvest salmon roe, sometimes 9 at a time! Reason: 5 second recharge time (first stage, just a tap of the shout button!). Also, doesn't turn guards and civvies hostile! Bonus! Like, off the end of the dock at Solitude. Run up to the end of the dock by the ship (name escapes me) point down about 45 degrees, a little left of the boat that is there, and with one shout, you can harvest 9 Salmon roe. Full shout, all three words, shout, then dive in and harvest as they float up! Three groups of three between the East Empire Warehouse, and the dude offering a boat ride to any point on the coast. Another across the harbor from the East Empire Co. at the corner to the left of the harbor. Two more groups of three up from the end of the dock as you follow the shore (watch for mudcrabs and slaughterfish!) and between the topmost salmon trio and the sawmill across (Solitude Sawmill), you should be able to shout up another six or more salmon. Note. The dead salmon do NOT have the 'harvest' prompt. You have to look at them, and hit whatever you normally use to harvest ingredients, and you get the Salmon meat plus the Salmon Roe! A glitch of the later versions of Skyrim. Usually, there are groups of three Salmon, out in the wild. If you have the Dragon Priest Mask Volsung (waterbreathing as its prime benefit) you can follow the coast and simply retreat to the shore to shout whenever you see a trio of salmon swimming nearby. Three Salmon Meat, plus three Salmon Roe! Dunno if it was a glitch or programmed, but every place I actually harvested 'jumping' salmon on rivers, never re-spawned. All the places that have trios of salmon to harvest otherwise, do re-spawn.
My favorite potion to level up alchemy and get money is: Blue Mountain Flower + Lavender + Hanging Moss. All the ingredients are very easy to find in large quantities and it makes a very valuable potion
As someone who has spent countless hours on working alchemy for the restoration exploit, there is a reason to create expensive potions. Giants toe doesn't grow on trees.
Keep in mind, any potion that can be mixed with Rare Curios some prices go even higher. And most of these potions are only good for: leveling alchemy, and when combined with the Merchant perk, paying for skill training about skill level 51.
The best way to get rid of some high cost potions like these without speech perks is to sell them to an npc who is a vendor (who will buy potions) and a trainer. Train with them to level up and the gold you spent on training is added to their vendor gold. There may be others but Sorine and Florentius at Fort Dawnguard are the two I use regularly. It’s a good way to level up archery/restoration, alchemy, and speech all in one go
I was actually surprised that Speech gain is determined by monetary value. The first time i tried the Fortify Restoration loop, i made a potion worth 100,000 or something absurd like that, sold it to the alchemist who just watched me make it, and my speech went from 15 to 100, even though i only got her 750 gold for it. That loop also took me from 40 alchemy to 100 in about 5 potions. Craziness
For context, I have a mage character, lvl 15, who just found some salmon roe, by exploding the area's you see fish jumping. (as explained in a video I saw somewhere.) And with 7 roe, I made some potions, was a high-elf, and would say easily a low level alchemy level. And with zero perks, Almost every single potion roe made goes close if not over to 1K, though it seems like its the water-breathing that really gives it that high-value. Don't get me wrong the potions sell well, just an observation. I'm sure the fact Roe's a rare ingredient might do some good, but just saying even low level alchemists can benefit if your looking for a quick chunk of change.
Just got done testing the grind from 15 to 100. Without enchantments 116 NB, SR, and garlic are needed. With 25% fort alchemy on head, hands, ring, and necklace: 55 of each ingredient. Both tests were done by taking perks as soon as I could and without well rested bonus. Didn't use well rested because werewolf. Without taking any perks in alchemy: Without enchantments: 279 potions crafted With enchantments: 130 potions crafted.
ive often used the jewelry making skill (coupled with transmute to make iron silver), and enchanting with sneak. low level, lover sneak points for lesser jewelry, higher for better jewelry. that way i can clean almost every merchant out, without loosing the different in gold(ie, when the piece is worth more than they have, and i need to sell it for less than value because of it) it take a bit(not as long as expected), but you'll have 50,000 gold before you hit level 30 if done right, and 100,000 before level 50 maxed smith, and enchanting too. more plentiful than potions, but less valuable(upside of that, more people can buy it). can make more valuable with more perks.
Best way to make money is iron daggers with banish enchantment. You get to level both and make 600-800 a dagger. Splurge on banish item from a vendor even to go broke, well worth it.
There are alot of power potions with lower value but still good for money making, waterbreathing potions are good for selling to vendors you have done skill training with at level 51+. But render themselves useless unless you spend like 10k at a vendor. And vampire dust is harder to come by than salmon roe itself (use nordic barnacle obviously) which is actually kinda limited in the game unless you stay away from an area for 30 days or so.
What’s pretty crazy is that the salmon row garlic and Nordic barnacle potion isn’t even that hard to make. One time I was grinding alchemy, and I wanted to go legendary. I had a modest fortify alchemy suit, and it took me somewhere around 30 of those to get to 100 again.

The most expensive potion has no negative effects, so you could create it with the purity perk active and still have the same gold value
There are more valuable potions it just takes a google search, damage magicka regeneration is the most expensive. Paralysis is a close second

Ser Ealhart the Oathless is poison of slow is great for any type of playthrough if you have high alchemy and some perks it's so op against dragons

These kinds of potions are also really good at boosting your alchemy level. Anything with a high value tends to give you massive experience gains.
And of course, expensive potions are a great way to boost Speech when you sell them one at a time to merchants.
As a Skyrim alchemist I've learned some new potions mixers on here, as im not an expert yet but im getting close to becoming an expert.
One that I like to use, and gets higher than the wheat, giant toe, creep cluster, is Nirnroot and Crimson Nirnroot. They share all 4 effects, so each one gets multiplied pretty high
I'd love a most useful potions as well. My favorite recipe is a damage health and slow poison: river Betty, deathbell, and salt.

Sometimes I wonder if these Alchemists actually have someone they can re-sell all these potions to... Because the Guild Master is totally having them robbed.
Given how most alchemy shops only have 500 gold... I hardly see what good a 5000 gold potion does for you. Only thing I can think is finding one that trains you an then get your gold back selling potions

I will always remember my first time playing skyrim, being a long time elder scrolls fan. I put almost 1000 hours into one game file and became so incredibly powerful i changed in a collector, decorator, farmer and knowledge seeker i miss that time and wish i could experience again for the first time. I actually had pre ordered skyrim and was in line at gamestop for the midnight release. Found many secrets that i will always remember. The white phial was a fun quest. Always stay cool my friends.

Awesome video man. Inspired me to try an Alchemist build, and I think I found something that may interest you. Disclaimer for everything ahead I have Rare Curios from the creation club installed. There is one alchemical reagent combination that is more valuable. My character is level 100 in alchemy and has every perk except for the Purity perk. The reagent combination in the video Garlic + Salmon Roe + Nordic Barnacle = Potion of Waterbreathing worth 5208 Gold. Where as the reagent combination I discovered Fungus Stalk + Salmon Roe + Void Essence = Potion of Waterbreathing Worth 7398 Gold. The later potions effects are as follows Can breath underwater for 900 seconds. Health is increased by 75 points for 300 seconds. Stamina is increased by 75 points for 300 seconds. There may be even more valuable reagent combinations with the reagents added by the Rare Curios Creation, but I haven't found one yet.

I always just use salt piles and garlic to make regenerate magicka potions, the effect is nice for combat etc, the ingredient cost/availability is real nice and the profit margin is still like 100x the cost(with no gear or perks). Salt piles and garlic both commonly sell at alchemists and can be found in their shops, taverns etc. You can obtain possibly hundreds of salt piles at the riften docks(earlier in one trip I got just above 200) and inside of riften. Garlic can be bought at the middle stall in solitude(between the spiced wine stall and the hunter/fisherman stall) She will always have 3 garlic available to be bought, whether you want to save hit and reload to reset inv is up to you, but either way the sheer availability and usability make this potion amazing imo.
Alchemy is really one skill that I always use for practical reasons and also singlehandedly destroying Skyrim's economy.

“Guide to potion of water breathing”
Go with "Clear Skies" shout, to kill salmon to harvest salmon roe, sometimes 9 at a time! Reason: 5 second recharge time (first stage, just a tap of the shout button!). Also, doesn't turn guards and civvies hostile! Bonus!
Like, off the end of the dock at Solitude. Run up to the end of the dock by the ship (name escapes me) point down about 45 degrees, a little left of the boat that is there, and with one shout, you can harvest 9 Salmon roe. Full shout, all three words, shout, then dive in and harvest as they float up! Three groups of three between the East Empire Warehouse, and the dude offering a boat ride to any point on the coast. Another across the harbor from the East Empire Co. at the corner to the left of the harbor.
Two more groups of three up from the end of the dock as you follow the shore (watch for mudcrabs and slaughterfish!) and between the topmost salmon trio and the sawmill across (Solitude Sawmill), you should be able to shout up another six or more salmon.
Note. The dead salmon do NOT have the 'harvest' prompt. You have to look at them, and hit whatever you normally use to harvest ingredients, and you get the Salmon meat plus the Salmon Roe! A glitch of the later versions of Skyrim.
Usually, there are groups of three Salmon, out in the wild. If you have the Dragon Priest Mask Volsung (waterbreathing as its prime benefit) you can follow the coast and simply retreat to the shore to shout whenever you see a trio of salmon swimming nearby. Three Salmon Meat, plus three Salmon Roe!
Dunno if it was a glitch or programmed, but every place I actually harvested 'jumping' salmon on rivers, never re-spawned.
All the places that have trios of salmon to harvest otherwise, do re-spawn.

There are several that have multipliers making them stronger. Look up skyrim uesp. It's all there
Mora tapinela, scaly pholiota, creep cluster. I get the value to over 2000 and all three ingredients can be grown in hearthfires house, Lakeview.
I'm a Skyrim veteran and I didn't know about these, I'll definitely use them to get a ton of money if I get VR Skyrim

My favorite potion to level up alchemy and get money is: Blue Mountain Flower + Lavender + Hanging Moss. All the ingredients are very easy to find in large quantities and it makes a very valuable potion
The fortify restoration loop exploit lets you quickly craft potions worth 10s of millions of gold. Or higher.
Now people need a video that goes into the experience values of crafting potions.

As someone who has spent countless hours on working alchemy for the restoration exploit, there is a reason to create expensive potions. Giants toe doesn't grow on trees.
Salmon Roe + Chicken's Egg + "A" "B" "C" and so on would have been a better way to say it I feel, Gotta admire the dedication though.
Keep in mind, any potion that can be mixed with Rare Curios some prices go even higher. And most of these potions are only good for: leveling alchemy, and when combined with the Merchant perk, paying for skill training about skill level 51.
The best way to get rid of some high cost potions like these without speech perks is to sell them to an npc who is a vendor (who will buy potions) and a trainer. Train with them to level up and the gold you spent on training is added to their vendor gold. There may be others but Sorine and Florentius at Fort Dawnguard are the two I use regularly. It’s a good way to level up archery/restoration, alchemy, and speech all in one go
If diving was such a lucrative business, you'd think Argonians would be rolling in it, rather than being the most outcast race in Skyrim.
I was actually surprised that Speech gain is determined by monetary value. The first time i tried the Fortify Restoration loop, i made a potion worth 100,000 or something absurd like that, sold it to the alchemist who just watched me make it, and my speech went from 15 to 100, even though i only got her 750 gold for it. That loop also took me from 40 alchemy to 100 in about 5 potions. Craziness
For context, I have a mage character, lvl 15, who just found some salmon roe, by exploding the area's you see fish jumping. (as explained in a video I saw somewhere.) And with 7 roe, I made some potions, was a high-elf, and would say easily a low level alchemy level. And with zero perks, Almost every single potion roe made goes close if not over to 1K, though it seems like its the water-breathing that really gives it that high-value. Don't get me wrong the potions sell well, just an observation. I'm sure the fact Roe's a rare ingredient might do some good, but just saying even low level alchemists can benefit if your looking for a quick chunk of change.

Just got done testing the grind from 15 to 100.
Without enchantments 116 NB, SR, and garlic are needed.
With 25% fort alchemy on head, hands, ring, and necklace: 55 of each ingredient.
Both tests were done by taking perks as soon as I could and without well rested bonus. Didn't use well rested because werewolf.
Without taking any perks in alchemy:
Without enchantments: 279 potions crafted
With enchantments: 130 potions crafted.

ive often used the jewelry making skill (coupled with transmute to make iron silver), and enchanting with sneak. low level, lover sneak points for lesser jewelry, higher for better jewelry.
that way i can clean almost every merchant out, without loosing the different in gold(ie, when the piece is worth more than they have, and i need to sell it for less than value because of it)
it take a bit(not as long as expected), but you'll have 50,000 gold before you hit level 30 if done right, and 100,000 before level 50
maxed smith, and enchanting too.
more plentiful than potions, but less valuable(upside of that, more people can buy it). can make more valuable with more perks.
Best way to make money is iron daggers with banish enchantment. You get to level both and make 600-800 a dagger. Splurge on banish item from a vendor even to go broke, well worth it.

There are alot of power potions with lower value but still good for money making, waterbreathing potions are good for selling to vendors you have done skill training with at level 51+. But render themselves useless unless you spend like 10k at a vendor. And vampire dust is harder to come by than salmon roe itself (use nordic barnacle obviously) which is actually kinda limited in the game unless you stay away from an area for 30 days or so.

What’s pretty crazy is that the salmon row garlic and Nordic barnacle potion isn’t even that hard to make. One time I was grinding alchemy, and I wanted to go legendary. I had a modest fortify alchemy suit, and it took me somewhere around 30 of those to get to 100 again.
