This song reflects perfectly how our current Ruby Rose is like right now; she wants to throw away her position that is filled TO THE FUCKING BRIM with troubles and move on as easily as her teammates made seem to be moving forward.
Yeah, she's been through a lot. I was glad volume 9 gave her some time to sort it out. It made sense to me to make that a part of this video, since it heavily affects her and her relationship with Weiss. Thanks for the comment. :)
I honestly don’t know why but this song specifically reminds me of I’m here from sonic frontiers doesn’t help the fact that they came out around the same time as well
Thank you! It was kind of one of those things the idea came into my head, and I couldn't do anything else until I got it out! XD Also, I saw Checkmate like a few hours after I finished this. Great pacing on that one and a really fun vibe! Plus, your transitions are really smooth. :)
Kick-ass music video! Beautiful editing! I found it interesting that Ruby's part ended with her achieving her current state of mind whereas Weiss's ended at her beginning. Thanks for making this AMV! I would love for the main series to so much as reference Ice Queendom though my stretch-hopes are for Shion or Nightmares to appear. I personally feel like the relationship development of Weiss/Ruby and Weiss/Blake was smooth enough on its own, but Ice Queendom definitely worked out the kinks.
Thank you so much! Due to the song's content and Weiss's Mirror Mirror motif, I tried to utilize the theme of reflection as much as I could throughout the video. Reflections of the characters themselves, of Weiss & Ruby's arcs, of ends & beginnings, of good & evil, of fighting & talking, etc. Thus, it felt right to have the ending represent both an ending and a beginning, so I'm glad you picked up on that! I also wanted to use Weiss's fight in the White Trailer as a symbolic representation of her overcoming her greatest stumbling blocks, with the Arma Gigas being a literal stand in for all the things in her past (especially her father). I wouldn't mind for Shion or Nightmares to appear in RWBY either. The Nightmares were a pretty cool idea for Grimm.
I really loved Ice Queendom, kinks and all for bringing us back to a fresh look at the world of RWBY and the cast and yeah this music was criminally underrated and underused in my opinion Cheers, I really liked this
Indeed, it was certainly a different perspective on RWBY. I liked the character work being more abstract since they were using the whole dream concept, though this did lead to some utterly bizarre moments, haha. Funnily enough, Volume 9 seemed to follow this thread a bit afterwards. Thanks for watching!
Technically simple, but perfectly executed, bravo
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
