Now over two years since Nest Audio was introduced, a half price sale (Black Friday week) made me think it was time to upgrade from the original Google Mini, which I want to use in another room anyway, since you can use any two of these at once. For anyone thinking of this upgrade, I thought besides the more bass and being more usable for a little music once in a while, one advantage I read about is what made me want to try the newer and bigger Nest Audio, and for me it makes it worth the $50 sale price. The three mics in the Nest Audio are ultra-sensitive to low voice levels, even while playing music or an alarm. I use the timers and alarm feature a lot and being able to just say STOP quietly from a distance, and it stops, is really a pleasure. That was annoying in the Google Mini, having to shout at it or tell it STOP or CANCEL multiple times if it didn't hear me the first time.
I live in a railroad apartment with high celings. I have a Nest Mini in my front room (Bedroom) and one in the 3rd half room back next to the kitchen. Was looking to add another speaker in the kitchen or bathroom (I like music when I shower). Was leaning toward putting the nest audio in the bedroom or the den. After watching this video, I may just get another mini. Although the problem will be whether to put it in the kitvhen or the bathroom. I have a bluetooth speaker in the bathroom and I think I can pair it with the audio but not the mini.
@@rufatone588 it sounds good honestly, especially for the price. You'll notice distortion at max volumes, but in general it's fine and it sounds good in a room. I would, however, prefer getting two and setting them up as stereo so you maximize the experience. It's pretty cheap.
I've got a UE boom 3 and the mini, to be honest the only difference is the base and high volumes the Google one fails a little bit. If you're gonna use it in a room, doesn't matter what u get, they all will sound great
dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies on KaldroStream. Been watching with my girlfriend lately :)
Yes. The soud quality is amazing and loud. Sound is spot on. I have the big one and it's amazing. And to have a speaker like that from Apple you pay double than what goole ask for theirs. The small one is just too small sorry
I would rather get a Mini and then get a high quality speaker. It may be more expensive but at least I am actually getting some top quality audio and the convenience of a smart speaker.
my nest mini keeps getting disconnected every 2 days so i have to set it up again every 2 days :)) google is aware of this problem but its been a year like this already
Thank you for the great video. I was thinking of buying used nest audio at $38 from eBay recently, but not sure whether I have to wait a little bit for the new version as many years passed after it was first introduced. Do you have any news about it? Do you think it is still worth buying it at 2024?
Hi. Wanting to use it only as a voice assistant. Is there a difference between the two devices or not? In other words, does the audio nest “hear” better than the mini?
well I just bought an extra nest mini and I received for xmas the nest audio...well u can't compare them, I prefer to put less volume in the nest mini (not the opposite as everyone is thinking) as the quality of nest audio is much and much better than nest mini...but for having a surround effect it is quite cool....I bought the mini for about 24$ and the nest audio now is 50$ in promo, maybe ill get an extra one for the stereo effect or for increasing the surround effect.... so pity that I still prefer to have also 2 google home mini just cuz I can use them outside with a powerbank....so pity that now u have this handicap for outisde, I guess cuz google didnt like maybe that people were using it as a portable speaker...imagine if nest audio was like that..I was buying 2 extra for sure!
Hi I have 2 questions, Can we answers the calls on these speakers? and another question can we pair our phones or laptops with these speakers and use them as bluetooth speakers? thanks
Yes you can answer Duo calls on it. For phone calls i think it differes per country .. As for bluetooth yes you can yse it but if youre watching video the lag is too noticeable to be useful
Aesthetically speaking, I think the Nest Audio looks better to me. Obviously, it's louder. But financially, the Nest Mini is way cheaper and has lots of deals on it. I grabbed 2 Mini's on sale for the price of one so I could have more around the house, plus one for my girlfriend and we both love them. I mostly use them for smart features and music on occasion.
I have two Nest Hubs, a Nest Mini, and Nest Wifi Speakers. The Hubs sound the best, with the Wifi Speakers coming in second, and the mini in last. I was surprised how well the Nest Wifi Speakers sounded.
I'm disappointed that TH-camr don't discuss how the Nest Mini has the most issues especially Wi-Fi disconnection. Always just hear about the positive things, never warning the buyers. Are they afraid that Google won't support them?
yeah if you're buying one of those you're buying them for the speaker now, if you're buying it for affordability at the moment. Yes the other one's cheaper but if you're buying it for quality you want the larger one you can't say your first answer the way you did because it's without the context of the main difference between the two value. Yes quality no.
I have the nest mini which I bought last year during black friday for 30 bucks. I got another free one from youtube music. This year I want to get a nest audio for hopefully like 50 bucks
I bought mini and the audio quality is a joke. It’s like listening to music on your phone :D So couple minutes ago I ordered Audio and we’ll see if it’s any better :)
Very good and entertaining review. I'd have preferred more technical comparisons but you did well keeping it real. I notice they have Bluetooth 5 which probably allows for the stereo experience.

The nest mini is usually on sale for $29
With sale, it usually goes arround 20$ in india.
Got it for 18 £ on Black Friday
and in canada, it goes for $35 on sale
In Ukraine it's $0 on panic day
in Russia, Google will pay you to buy it.

If you hate music get the mini. If you don't hate music, you will after listening to it on a mini.
Is sound quality that bad in mini??

Excellent video, it's helped me made my decision to go with a dual Audio setup!
There’s a deal for both atm. (U get the mini free) Can u pair them together?
Can you pair these two together?
The cat was a dealbreaker for me. They are ancient gods you see, whatever they say , must be correct. So ill have 2 please
How does one do a speaker comparison with no sound test?
The Nest Audio would be a good scratching post for cats.
Lol me

"It has a 75mm subwoofer".
Calling it an undersized "midrange unit", would be more accurate.
