If i remember correctly she looked up to Lacey a lot and was super excited when Lacey ended up covering for her on Skillets live perforances while Jen was touring for Ledger.
Also I loved it when Jon said "Lacey?" And "John Cooper!" It shows he's so people oriented rather than trivia oriented. And that's why we love him, after all. ☺
Very true! So many good bands in this list! My personal favorites out of this list was Skillet, RED, Lifehouse, TFK, Flyleaf, and Switchfoot. I think that covers it? lol
Jon Foreman not knowing any of these blows my mind! His music is incredible both from Switchfoot and his solo stuff. A lot of his songs strike a deep chord with me.
@@fabianvanderelst9643 Jon Foreman listens to all sorts of crazy stuff. I watched an interview where he was asked to name the three songs he was listening to the most at the moment and one was a South African song and another from India and another a bit of instrumental that I've never heard of, so it's clear he draws inspiration from some interesting sources.
Dude, it broke my heart to see everyone struggling with Plumb's "Stranded". That's one of my faves. Junior high. Unrequited love. Many tears. Song helped me keep most of my sanity lol.
Stranded was definitely the "odd song out" in this video. I [personally] wouldn't have grouped them in with the rest of the bands/tracks (stylistically) in this video. That's the one it took me the longest to get.
I absolutely love this series! I honestly thought Switchfoot would know more about the early 2000s rock, surprisingly, they did not XD I hope to see more Christian artists doing these games (they crack me up). Keep doing what you're doing and making disciples! :D
They used to say it themselves, their influences are definitely not the type of music that they play lol. They were into U2, Led Zeppelin, Beatles type. So while they did tour with some of these bands, they still kinda kept their influences on the older side. Also, they spent most of their time with Columbia Records and they were primarily “secular” music...
I think itwould have been sad if she didn't know Lacey Sturm sun because she is said she's a big fan of hers that she was so honored with their last album to you know we have to do is song with her
So now we know that the secret to Jon's prolific song writing is that he spends all his time making new songs instead of listen to other people's music.
He writes so many songs he forgets the lyrics to his older ones all the time haha it's no surprise. I'm sure he listens to a lot, just doesn't remember as much
Y’all need to do like 70 and eighties Christian music!!! Lol that would be fun!!! Especially those who really grew up in a Christian home and your parents blasted those old school jams in the house and car lol
P.O.D., Flyleaf, Switchfoot, Skillet, RED, and Thousand Foot Krutch are the only bands I know from this game. The rest I don’t. Haha! Jen is so adorable! 🤗
Can't believe Stranded by Plumb was so difficult - not to mention that Jennifer Paige totally rocked the song in the mainstream market, too. Great song
I'm going to be honest, seeing Jen ledger in the thumbnail of the video is what made me watch it lol, it was awesome how she immediately knew "All Around Me" right after it started playing, and then she began singing it, which was awesome, my goodness her voice when singing is so beautiful. I actually didn't recognize any of the songs except for Breath into me, All Around Me, and The Last Night.
Yasss! Love this style of music but don't really know much of it in the Christian world other than Switchfoot and Skillet. got a solid list to listen to just from the intros!
The early 2000s was when CCM was at its peak. I listened to these songs growing up and wished bands still made music with the same levels of originality and creativity.
Men, im from Chile, 14 years old being christian and i also beat Switchfoot (love you guys, and your music). So many memories, christian rock of the 90's and 2000's are still in my phone today. I acept new recomendations for my christian rock playlist
I love these things! Well, I loved the 90's one. I didn't know this one because I didn't follow CCM much in the 2000's because we were busy having kids, BUT now that my kids are teens, we are getting back into it! Bring on the 2010's!
I knew every single song except the Hawk Nelson one. I kept going NOOOO that is not Rebecca St.James or Jennifer Knapp. I totally grew up on 2000's rock music.
9:04 Craig and Paul so nice and gentle people! making us laugh hehehehe Switchfoot my best band eveeeeeeeeeer! thanks for this video very creative and funny hehe! Hi from Guayaquil Ecuador
Amazing P. O. D. Alive that was my favorite song in 2005 maybe 2006 perhaps as well and you know Meant to live too, finally The last night is my favorite song ever, I was so depress when I was listening this song From 2007 to 2011 I mean skillet or switchfoot both my favorites bands.
Jens reaction to FlyLeaf
SO good right?!
Jen's singing
If i remember correctly she looked up to Lacey a lot and was super excited when Lacey ended up covering for her on Skillets live perforances while Jen was touring for Ledger.
@@ThaddIp its adorable 😍😍😍
the best band ever ❤️
there needs to be a 2000’s christian rock festival with all these bands in it. id pay top dollar for it
Yes please!
You, sir, are a genius
Becca Lou yassss!
Agreed
Gotta add Anberlin too. :D
Also I loved it when Jon said "Lacey?" And "John Cooper!" It shows he's so people oriented rather than trivia oriented. And that's why we love him, after all. ☺
Emily Williamsen haha yeah he knows the people and not the song/band titles 😂😂
My dad knows Drew Shirley
Agreed!!!
Or that they didn't actually listen to much Christian music haha
lol yes
You guys!!! You gotta invite Thousand Foot Krutch here!
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Yes!!
Please do! I think Trevor McNevan would do insanely well! He listens to EVERYTHING.
Disciple band also
For real
Ah, I wanna hear Jen Ledger sing Flyleaf's "All Around Me." She would do amazing.
Oh, I know she would sing it beautifully.
There needs to be more stuff like this! Older Christian rock is SO underrated!
6:50 John Cooper with Wolverine claws might be the best thing I've ever seen.
Legit though 😂👌🏻
Jen definitely needs to cover Breathe Into Me. Just that snippet and I know I would buy that.
Also, any Flyleaf
Very true! So many good bands in this list! My personal favorites out of this list was Skillet, RED, Lifehouse, TFK, Flyleaf, and Switchfoot. I think that covers it? lol
Jen could sing the alphabet, accompanied by kindergarten kids banging pans on the ground, and I'd buy it.
My band opened for RED in Morgantown WV, it was awesome
@@gaijinhakase1575 What's your band and which role do you have in it?
That little snippet perked my ears up a bit. Then she stopped, and I was all, "That's all we get?!?!"
this is dope. y'all NEED to do Christian Hip Hop with Lecrae, DaTruth, Derek Minor, Flame and Bizzle. would be crazy.
I'd be HERE for it.
Kinda feel like NF should be on that list as well...
@@TheCrunchyDragon while I love his music, NF isn't CHH, he's mainstream, and wouldn't do the video anyway
Don't forget Trip Lee
I totally agree, that would be awesome
Switch foot is just like "we dont really listen to christian music.." 😂😂😂
I actually wonder what they do listen to! Might be very interesting, as they're making awesome music! Their inspiration must be very cool!
Jon Foreman not knowing any of these blows my mind!
His music is incredible both from Switchfoot and his solo stuff. A lot of his songs strike a deep chord with me.
Blaze Gulisack yeah.... I think that’s pretty accurate
Funny, considering they ARE Christian music! 😂😂😂😂

Right?! That song made me feel all the feels in Jr. High! - Candice, WAY Nation Team
I got to see her play at ICHTHUS back in.... 2003? Reliant K was there too. And Jars of Clay and Third Day.
That was one of those songs I heard on radio all the time and never knew what it was called. LOL

WOW Hits 2000 🤟🏻
I love how different Jon and Tim's taste is 😂😂

that's what i thought too! LOL
Seems to me they don't listen to any other bands in there "genre"

"Are you RED-y?" hehe I would have been so disappointed if Red wasn't in this. They needed some Disciple in here too.
Was totally expecting DC Talk to be in here too.
6:59 "These are all like spooky songs" 😂 the way John reacts is just hilarious. So much love for Switchfoot, they're an amazing band❤
Can we just take a minute to applaud the editor(s) for this video? Made an already great video 100x better/funnier!! :D
Thanks, Ashley!
I had to pause a thousand times to read the list of where switchfoot was better. It was hilarious 😂
6:25 Jen is so funny, "I think I'd get fired if I didn't get that one"...
I came for Jen Ledger XD
Same 😀
I also saw Switchfoot.
@@lovatojonasfan1 i did'nt even see Switchfoot, all i saw was Jen lol

Lucas Betts same 😂😂
I love how Jen is such a Flyleaf fangirl!
Same girl, same 😊
Skillet featured Lacey in "Breaking Free".
Jen and Lacey are both amazing women.
I just love Jen's reaction at "the last night"
I flat out smacked my iPad across the room as soon as Pressing On started. 90% of my 2000s Christian rock knowledge is Relient K
Sameeeeeeeeee
Same here, dude. That band defined my adolescence (and I guess it still does, considering I'm still a teen 😅)

I knew every one of those songs but I havent heard them in sooooo long!! Such a throw back
I think if Jen did a cover of Flyleaf’s All Around Me she would probably kill it
I would freaking PAY to hear Jen sing All Around Me.
You guys have to do this for Christian rap!! Keep these videos coming!
Poor Jon, I think he’s made so many songs over the years it’s hard to keep track of his own let alone other people.
For real though. Their big hit album was in 2003.😳
I’m from Ukraine and I grow up on these songs! + Dc Talk, Audio Adrenaline, Stellar Kart.
Mad props to the editor of this video. They did a great job!
Dude that Switchfoot+Lifehouse tour was RAD
Also y’all straight up read my mind. I sat here thinking “man they better include some TFK” and the VERY NEXT SONG was Rawkfist. I almost screeched. 😂
I was so sad to miss that one, but was SUPER about to pop pregnant. Lol
I love how Jen was so positive and supportive😂😂
Aw Switchfoot... I would totally be in the same boat 😂
Pressing on was from Relient K's second album.
Steve Still I was thinking the same!
I was hoping to hear Decyfer Down. An
AWESOME band, and I feel they deserve way more credit and attention.
Zack Reynolds YESSS 😫 My older brother and I used to listen to them all the time🔥💕
Just saw them again a couple weeks ago. They sounded fantastic
