- This is one of the files I have in my poem folder. It had a handful of lines. I am trying to finish at least one a day. Some parts may not work. I din't want to spend a bunch of time on it for some reason. I just want to turn my Mac. off and watch TV. haha I had no idea what this was about. But it seems it is political. I guess that is what one could call it.
: Nothing at All :
You and I
Were so clever
Dancing together
Under the silver moon
What fun
We'd have
Just wasting time
As if
Time
Was nothing all
As our bodies moved
Under the moon
We’d dream of today
And of tomorrow to
Life together
Marriage and love
A kid or two
Like little baby doves
The house that we’d have
The color of paint
What cars would we drive
To get us around each day
We would sit
We’d hold hands
We would dream
Time it went by
Like cars on a highway
You had it your way
And I had it my way
We found a nice house
Not one story but two
The color on the outside
Was some strange color blue
But we’d laugh to each other
Both you and I
We would say that our house
Was the color of sky
We would sit or we’d lay
In our minds we would be
Living as angles
Both you and both me
Way back when
As both us were young
Like two little chicks
Which from a chicken had sprung
Together
Times went on by
Jobs we both had
Still loved the peace
But both seemed to be mad
Not at one another
Never we shall be
But bothered by the world
The news on TV
Lots of hate and murder
Starvation and greed
So many with no homes
Or food
Missing their freedom
As we both sat there
Both you and both me
We would cry at the poor children
They would show on TV
But we lived
We strived
We breathed
Many years then went by
Time followed by time
Wars and murders
Seemed to happen
All the time
Right here in our
Homeland of USA
We could hear a bomb dropping
Both night and both day
Most places are gone now
Homes, business, grass and even trees
Hard to remember
The way things used to be
Unsafe it is now
To go outside
Food is delivered
By those that don’t die
But the streets are unsafe
At least what once was the street
It just dirt and rubble now
So messy and un neat
But we both will sit
For the moments it silent
Remember our childhood
When we’d dream of retirement
Maybe we could have a big house
In a small town it could be
Maybe in the California streets
People seeing it on TV
Could have a big boat
For times on the water
Maybe a place in the Arctics
For the days it got hotter
But those things all gone now
Many people as well
Thanks to the men with the power
And the anger that dwelled
We live day by day
This may be our last
What a time to exist in
But in our minds
We can remember the past
