What is the molten material they are being heated in at 4:43? Also, as a cabinet maker of 47+ years, I have never seen a hollow grind on the back of a chisel. What is the purpose and what happens when you finally sharpen past the flat on the back at the tip?

@@reb2322 ok thanks very much. Very interesting so you were an operator when I was not still born or maybe I was just born (at the end of '75, almost '76).

The making of chisels require rather a bit more dipping than I anticipated.😊
So much for Japans Hi-Tech automation.

It's perfect as it is.
the question is ,how well and long will it hold an edge
These are top of the line chisels.

It is molten salt
@@iivaripaakkonen2699 thank you! Then what is being used at 5:43 to anneal the blades?
OIL
A hammer is used to displace metal near the tip so it can be sharpened again. These are "Japanese style" chisels, they are not too uncommon.

Why don't you make high quality chisels in the same time?
Will give you a thumbs down every time you put music in your videos. Enjoy.
the music is wonderful, why don't you like it?
Oh no, how will they ever recover from this... Cry harder.
4:43 What is used for the heat treatment? Is it a coloured hot liquid or melted metal?

И работают в перчатках на наждаке. Моментом может намотать
Maybe it's because of the product they are making, which is very simple but very poorly made today, if it disappointed me.
Please post videos without music, thanks 🙂
