    Hi girl..masak selama 2 jam kah..1 jam boleh?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi marnie winna, thank you for the comment 😄 Yes, 1 hour is okay for the herbs; as for the meat, it will depend on the type of cut as some cuts cook longer than others. My meat cuts needed to be boiled for 2 hours to be soft and tender. Hope it helps 😄
      (1 jam boleh untuk masak herba. Untuk daging, ia bergantung pada jenis potongan yang diguna. Jenis daging potongan yang saya gunakan perlu 2 jam untuk masak sehingga lembut).

    Thank you for sharing, would you kind enough to tell me the name of the herbs especially inside the little bag, can't find the package in Canada. Lol

      Hi Philip Lim. Those are the Chinese herbs and I am not quite good with that too. I think in the small packet is probably a five-spice powder, but Just guessing only. Anyway, I found a similar Bak Kut Teh herbs in Amazon here amzn.to/3cmJdR2
      The A1 brand is quite good I have used it before. Enjoy!

    Can I substitute it with chicken?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Suhashini Thinakaran, Yes sure you can use chicken. Please reduce cooking time as chicken cooks to tender quicker than pork. Thank you.

      @@HomeCookingwithSomjit thank you for the reply. One last doubt...you first blanch the chicken and you added into the soup later on. In my case if I'm using chicken should I blanch the chicken too with ginger or shall I just skip the step and add the chicken into the soup? Thanks in advance ya 🙏😊

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Suhashini Thinakaran, Yes please, here is the link of chicken soup recipe th-cam.com/video/vHxtYwlUEcc/w-d-xo.html . Blanching the chicken will be the same. I recommend using the kampung chicken (free-range chicken) as it will taste better than normal chicken. The cooking time should be around 1.30 hour in low heat till it tender. Happy cooking 😁

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Priya R, Yes, you are right, the sesame oil should have been added between 3.03 to 3.14, together with the rest of the seasonings. I think it has accidentally been removed during the video editing process. Thank you for pointing this out. Much appreciated. Happy cooking. 🙏😀💖

      For your information, there are different packets brands of bat kut teh.. I guess you can choose any you preferred. If you put more meat and needed more bat kut teh soup, I suggest you put two packets.
      Here in Asian’s country we can find the A1 brand which is famous too.. Happy Cooking😀

    Worst bak kut teh I don't think so your bak kut teh is tasty sorry

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nathan 0912, thank you for the feedback 😀 Yes, I understand. This is how my family prefers their homecooked bak kut teh to be. To me, that's the most important thing.
      If preferred, MSG can be added for the dish to be tastier, or the bones in the stock can be boiled for a longer period of time. Hope it helps 😀
