proper social educate is to pause in between thoughts in order to give the other people in the conversation a chance to speak. Like, obviously, that's the best way to have a conversation. The alternative is someone sitting and listening to a monologue.
This perfectly describes why I hate “how are you?” because like, what do you say? Just saying something like “pretty good” doesn’t make any conversation, so i feel like i should say something more than that, but also not too much so it’s not annoying? We should collectively say something new and not as confusing to respond to.
I don’t even ask “how are you” I either ask questions relative to the situation “how is the food?” “How was the trip?” Or if I’m passing by people I say “hi! Have a great day” I haven’t initiated the “how are you” dance in ages and when people ask, I ask back out of obligation
I often respond with "it's been a day" or "could be better" or something quick and mildly humorous when my day is going less than good. It answers the question and gives them the option of asking for more info or just nodding and moving on.
i usually just answer a brief few word synopsis of my day then ask the other person to make it a two way convo. …then they either say good or ramble, and then idk what to do

This is probably the best representation of adhd in media I have seen. It avoids the trope of audio compiling a bunch of random whining noises, and actually, quite originally explains the process of your adhd brain trying to fix itself from beings sidetracked whiles getting sidetracked in a weird meta way. It shows that you’re aware but it’s hard to fix because it’s your brain itself that is flawed. And fills in the much lacking void in most videos on the topic.
I frequently experience the “no, I swear that your work story reminding me of an iguana fact makes perfect sense” thing. There was a whole mental odyssey of connections I’ve gone through that the other person just wasn’t aware of, so it seems completely out of nowhere.
that is a good metaphor for what having ADHD is like: a mental odyssey. Dividing attention, focus, awareness, thoughts, emotions, it's just a big interior expedition to find everything your brain needs even for one conversation
YES! It’ll get really confusing, because I’ll start talking about how “The other day he did blah blah blah” and because I had that ‘mental odyssey’ I feel that it makes perfect sense, but they don’t know who I’m talking about AND they were talking about wanting to sign up for soccer or something like that.
The quote I always use to describe a conversation with two people with ADHD is that you will start your conversation at squirrel and it will end at shower heads. And if it's a conversation with someone without ADHD when the other person has it? That conversation ends right at squirrels after you blurt out some psycho fact about them making you look unstable...

Yeah, I feel you. Autism plus ADHD is this video, but I can't stop noticing the tiny sound your chair is making and that you missed a hair shaving and that the lightbulb buzzes slightly, and that the sun is reflecting brightly off the edge of something metal and that...

Trying to stop myself from info dumping hurts so much at times. It's like, you KNOW you need to let others talk as well and you KNOW it's bad to interrupt, but holding back the urge hurts so bad.
As a teenager with ADHD, this is the best video that represents ADHD, really, I'm gonna show it to my psychologist next week, amazing animation and amazing explanation
I think the most relatable and accurate part of this is the one central voice trying to command control but he really only has just as much control as all the other thought processes.
I describe it as the loud voice and then every other thought wirring around it. Every few seconds the loud voice just catches a thought and goes, "This is what we are thinking about now."
These videos are amazing, I didn't realize why I liked them so much aside from their goofy humor and art-style until I was actually diagnosed with ADHD, this video was extraordinary and tbh I want a sequel!
it’s accurate how a adhd person can think and talk i should know im one i tend to space off than interrupt the person because i aint got a clue what their talking nor did i want to be rude but i didnt care sometimes im up front and say “not in the mood” or “Dont care”
Talks with Gingerpale. *Puts a phone in front their face, with Subway Surfers playing on their phone.* 1:05 Dang As a person with... possible ADHD... I'd that this is totally... like the most accurate to what it's like. I find this really relatable.
ADHD and ASD here, the best thing you can do is be funny and know your audience, that way when you completely derail the conversation at least someone laughed at your funny joke about shrimp fried rice that went "you're telling me a *shrimp* fried this rice?"
In my experience, my thoughts only really start wandering when the other person is boring as shit. I don't have trouble focusing when they have something interesting to say that I actually want to hear.
ADHD haver, this is so damn relatable. Random bits of the conversation opening new tabs in your head like wikipedia links, reminding you of random bits of info that you now really want to share even when the conversation has long since moved on from it etc. Also "I am sitting here talking but now my head itches/clothing suddenly no longer sits correctly so now I must f i d g e t"
2:00 “Okeh :] beep! :D” “Does it really make that sound?” “Not really, I just like to make my own sound effects when doing things” Relatable AF. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve randomly made a tiny noise when pressing something
The worst part is sometimes I go to work, hyper focused on what I'm gonna do, but then I take a break or someone asks me about something, I explain and then I'm distracted for the next 6 hours until I go into panic mode and start doing everything I could've gotten done in an hour, 6 hours ago.
Hooray, one of the 4 animation TH-camrs that I have subscribed to has posted for the first time in idk how long! And whats this? A 3 minute video?! Man you know just what I need.
1:52 When I was in elementary school I used to do this. One day, halfway through one of my classes, my teacher brought up birthdays (I don’t remember the context), but after a moment the conversation went back to whatever we were learning that day. I kept my hand up the entire class, and when she finally called on me at the very end, I told her when my birthday was. She asked me why it mattered and that’s why I don’t like to add input to conversations :,D
You DO NOT need to join the ADHD Fan Club. I think MOST people can relate to this considering the variables in mental health that can come down to simple nutrition levels on any given day.
As someone yet to be diagnosed, this is very accurate for me pft Just add in 'getting a song stuck in your head the whole talk' or multiple that change in and out
Okay good I'm not the only person who usually just has a song in their head the entire fuckin day and will sometimes just jam in pure silence because I'm thinking of it lmao
I have the opposite of ADHD, OCD. I get stuck on thoughts and not able to move on. The part I related to most were the yellow thoughts, "We don't talk about those." Only, instead of many different yellow thoughts, it's one yellow thought constantly and infinitely cloning itself until the glass breaks.
It's so funny cause I've seen people with ADHD do the opposite of this to.o. One example off the top of my head is when a neurotypical asked them how their day had been going and they interpreted that to mean that the other genuinely cared about how they were feeling, so they went into a long rant about how they were really sad recently for several reasons and then the other person clarified that they just wanted a simple yes or no.
Yeah, as someone who is neurodivergent I do the tangent kind of response 'cause I think they actually want to know, I've only ever gotten the yes or no thing from neurotypical people so it was interesting to see some neurodivergent people also feel like that-
It depends, because as someone with ADD, I give "yes or no" answers to people I have no interest in talking to. If I have interest in talking to them, Im open and honest. Plus, saying they only wanted a "yes or no" despite sharing their struggles is kinda rude... Ask and you shall receive.
@@GuiriTV That helps me understand a lot! Thank you! :D And ikr! Even if they weren't expecting that response, this person still opened up to them and they just shut them down TwT I felt so bad for them.
as another person with adhd, i can't find anything more accurate. especially the part where he talks about one singular part of the conversation when spacing out.
Its not the inside out 2 the world wants, and its not the inside out 2 the world needs, but its the inside out 2 the world gets, and im pretty happy with it
as a guy with ocd the part where the thoughts made your brain explode and one of the ‘we don’t talked about them’ thoughts just tried to worm its way out was weirdly relatable to me
I’ve never been diagnosed with adhd, but the thing with the seal was highly relatable. If someone gets the wind in their sails though and proceeds to describe their whole day I zone out and listen to music instead of going into total thought meltdown
as a lad with inattentive ADHD i can tell you that chernobyl is one of the coolest events ever to happen and fukushima daichi even though both events dealt with nuclear radiation and many died it's still cool the effects of disasters can cause even though nuclear power is probably one of the better sources of power we can use as opposed to oil and coal and stuff
i find that nodding my head and maintaining eye contact as best i can to be the best ways of engaging myself into a conversation and really processing what the other is saying but honestly this experience is at its worst when it's a conversation in a language i'm still learning because it's ghat much more difficult to focus on sections as you're processing them at an immensely delayed pace that is also much more taxing than in my native language
As an autistic person, I can relate to this (this is why it’s sometimes stressful for me to socialise and/or I can’t always concentrate on important stuff). Sometimes I just have too many thoughts in my head and things get too overwhelming to the point where it feels like my head could explode, or it’s sometimes the other way round and I have ideas about what I want to say but either I struggle to get them across properly or I’m scared I’ll dominate a conversation with stuff only I’m interested in without considering others.
The "we need a motor distraction" literally hit hard. I was just wondering, why I always moved or shook my leg each time I talked or thought about something. Someone just asked me one time about it and I was like: "No idea. It just helps me THINK" Only now I understand how strange it sounded like
if i have ADHD, it's currently undiagnosed, but let me tell you, I feel so painfully called out right now, especially with the overanalyzing how something crashes to the floor but hey, analyzing these microscopic details against your will is what turns you into a better writer. Now if only I could stay focused for long enough to actually release a completed product
2:38 seal reference??? Also, seals are actually different from sea lions. Seals galumph, have no ear flaps, and don't have a joint on their flippers, they go straight back, while Sea Lions have ear flaps, and bark, and sort of waddle, and their flippers sort of go to the side.
ISTG I watched that seal video just yesterday or some shit. Picking that video out of all the random crap you could have picked was so good from my perspective.
I fill in details whenever people are talking so I can think about something else and listen back and forth. My brain cycles in and out of focusing on their words every few seconds. It's like multi-threading on a CPU (or something like that lol).
Sometimes I have to do this thing where I tap my foot really fast but then people ask me if I’m alright or if I’m having anxiety and I have to explain that “No, my brain is just weird”
Wow an ADHD video that I actually can’t relate much to! I don’t have ADHD but most “adhd” videos are stuff that I can relate to completely, and while some things here I do, like fidgeting, all of it is not relatable to me at all! That’s great!
Now I can't relate to this whatsoever since I don't have any of this, but from the things I've heard about it, it seems pretty accurate. As entertaining as the animation is smooth.
my psychology professor talked about adhd this week, this was awesome to watch through and made me understand the class more than how he explained it, pretty cool vid after all.
AuDHD POV: The other person is a terrible storyteller, just venting or really likes to hear himself talk, while you remember the ending from last time, agonize over the correct amount of emotions to show or have already concluded that neither of you is going to take anything even remotely close to a meaningful thought away from this meeting anyway... It's not usually that bad, but I recall suffering all of those in any combination. So yeah, this is pretty accurate.
I don't think I have ADHD, but I do struggle to hold any form of conversation unless its about a very pointed topic I happen to know alot about. I basically can't do smalltalk of any kind, and its tough for me to pay attention to or care about anything other than my own interests. As a result I sort of do this to, but not really because its some kind of attention span issue- I'm just so unbelievably apathetic to nearly everything that I can't be bothered to lend mental energy to anything other than my own thoughts. Its weird, and I hate it, but emotions are not a choice and I don't really get to choose whether or not I care about any given thing. Either I just so happen to be interested in a topic or I'm not and there isn't really an in-between

"Hey that's my job" "fuk you" had me dying😂
As a person without ADHD, I find this video very relatable
ADHD haver, this is so damn relatable. Random bits of the conversation opening new tabs in your head like wikipedia links, reminding you of random bits of info that you now really want to share even when the conversation has long since moved on from it etc.
Also "I am sitting here talking but now my head itches/clothing suddenly no longer sits correctly so now I must f i d g e t"
Same. I always have to have some part of my body slightly moving or else I just feel weird
2:00
“Okeh :] beep! :D”
“Does it really make that sound?”
“Not really, I just like to make my own sound effects when doing things”
Relatable AF.
What is worst is when your teacher tells you important information but you can barely pay attention to what the teacher is saying
What an award-winning animation!
🥺🥺🥺

𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙥, hey that's my job, f**k you
I eat shoe sized batteries
Thanks GingerPale, this video is very true and relatable! 🙏
I love how relatable this is even though I don’t have ADHD. 😭
You might have adhd
yeah people seem to have adhd symtoms without having ADHD it self but if it really affects you check it out at the doctor
Well we have something to tell you bucko.
You DO NOT need to join the ADHD Fan Club.
I think MOST people can relate to this considering the variables in mental health that can come down to simple nutrition levels on any given day.
@@NPC-bs3pm we might have news for you too
The intrusive thoughts bit got me, man. It got me.
Same bro
My son and I both have ADHD and I just want to say thank you for making this. It's terribly accurate but also fun. :)
As someone yet to be diagnosed, this is very accurate for me pft
Just add in 'getting a song stuck in your head the whole talk' or multiple that change in and out
Okay good I'm not the only person who usually just has a song in their head the entire fuckin day and will sometimes just jam in pure silence because I'm thinking of it lmao
wait wait wait you're telling me the song thing is an ADHD thing?
I have the opposite of ADHD, OCD. I get stuck on thoughts and not able to move on. The part I related to most were the yellow thoughts, "We don't talk about those." Only, instead of many different yellow thoughts, it's one yellow thought constantly and infinitely cloning itself until the glass breaks.
The pain is real
I love how in topics is says “positive reactions to inside out 2” when the actual inside out 2 is coming out on June 14
@@GuiriTV
That helps me understand a lot! Thank you! :D
And ikr! Even if they weren't expecting that response, this person still opened up to them and they just shut them down TwT I felt so bad for them.
as another person with adhd, i can't find anything more accurate. especially the part where he talks about one singular part of the conversation when spacing out.
I love how colorful your videos always are. I love your style
Really needed to watch something that makes me happy at this very moment
It's either like this, or the complete opposite where you feel like you're dominating the conversation and the other person says nothing.
I love the animation style it's so good!👍
someone with adhd, this is the most relatable thing I have ever seen >.
Its not the inside out 2 the world wants, and its not the inside out 2 the world needs, but its the inside out 2 the world gets, and im pretty happy with it
As someone with AuDHD, this is one of the most relatable TH-cam videos I’ve seen
is audhd austimsmsmsbvfhmfx bjhvhju kgxhkux dh plus adhd?
as a guy with ocd the part where the thoughts made your brain explode and one of the ‘we don’t talked about them’ thoughts just tried to worm its way out was weirdly relatable to me
Oh em geee sameeee
I’ve never been diagnosed with adhd, but the thing with the seal was highly relatable. If someone gets the wind in their sails though and proceeds to describe their whole day I zone out and listen to music instead of going into total thought meltdown
as a lad with inattentive ADHD i can tell you that chernobyl is one of the coolest events ever to happen and fukushima daichi even though both events dealt with nuclear radiation and many died it's still cool the effects of disasters can cause even though nuclear power is probably one of the better sources of power we can use as opposed to oil and coal and stuff
i find that nodding my head and maintaining eye contact as best i can to be the best ways of engaging myself into a conversation and really processing what the other is saying
but honestly this experience is at its worst when it's a conversation in a language i'm still learning because it's ghat much more difficult to focus on sections as you're processing them at an immensely delayed pace that is also much more taxing than in my native language
Im going to be real meta and when i start not listening to someone im going to start thinking about this video while being mad that i can't focus
SAME I LITERALLY JUST DID EXACTLY THIS I CANT TELL IF ITS NORMAL OR NOT
“Hey thats my job!”
“Fuck you!”
**dies**
As an autistic person, I can relate to this (this is why it’s sometimes stressful for me to socialise and/or I can’t always concentrate on important stuff). Sometimes I just have too many thoughts in my head and things get too overwhelming to the point where it feels like my head could explode, or it’s sometimes the other way round and I have ideas about what I want to say but either I struggle to get them across properly or I’m scared I’ll dominate a conversation with stuff only I’m interested in without considering others.
I think my little ADHD brain dudes are working overtime cause i sat here stimming for 10 minutes trying to think of a response. Love this alot!
The "we need a motor distraction" literally hit hard.
I was just wondering, why I always moved or shook my leg each time I talked or thought about something. Someone just asked me one time about it and I was like:
"No idea. It just helps me THINK"
Only now I understand how strange it sounded like
I always love when people do brain animations like this, so creative and educational even.
2:21 Yes, very relatible when just say some random fact your head held on to
if i have ADHD, it's currently undiagnosed, but let me tell you, I feel so painfully called out right now, especially with the overanalyzing how something crashes to the floor
but hey, analyzing these microscopic details against your will is what turns you into a better writer.
This is actually relatable, although my head doesn’t blow up in the end.
3:05 my thoughts:
i have music constantly playing in my head 24/7. its crazy
I have severe ADHD, never in my life, have I seen something so relatable
I fill in details whenever people are talking so I can think about something else and listen back and forth. My brain cycles in and out of focusing on their words every few seconds. It's like multi-threading on a CPU (or something like that lol).
Sometimes I have to do this thing where I tap my foot really fast but then people ask me if I’m alright or if I’m having anxiety and I have to explain that “No, my brain is just weird”
This is exactly what goes on in day to day conversations for me 💀
Wow an ADHD video that I actually can’t relate much to! I don’t have ADHD but most “adhd” videos are stuff that I can relate to completely, and while some things here I do, like fidgeting, all of it is not relatable to me at all! That’s great!
Look at this neurotypical NERD here
Get ‘em, boys
Was the brain button stuff inspired by the movie Inside Out?
You conversationed so good, I'm proud of you.
🎶It's raining tacos🎶
etc
As someone without ADHD, this feels so relatable for an unnecessarily long ass convo.
Ohhh so the yellow ones are THOSE kinds of thoughts
I am not diagnosed with ADHD, but I relate entirely with every single second of this videos.
I’m a person with ADHD and this is my brain every day. 0:29
hi payshays
@@IllusiveTaco Hello! :)
Now I can't relate to this whatsoever since I don't have any of this, but from the things I've heard about it, it seems pretty accurate. As entertaining as the animation is smooth.
We're lacking the choruses to two or more songs and making a mental list for groceries while thinking of how much you'd rather be at home.
I would totally watch a tv show about GingerPale’s ADHD brain
This is the pinacle of animation 2:57
my psychology professor talked about adhd this week, this was awesome to watch through and made me understand the class more than how he explained it, pretty cool vid after all.
My ADHD just makes it so I only pay attention to bits and pieces of a conversation. And it's only what my brain translates to important stuff.
As someone with ADHD, I agree with this man's message.
This man always knows how to make me laugh
Either I just so happen to be interested in a topic or I'm not and there isn't really an in-between
As an ADHD having individual, I rate this video a solid 9.8/10 for accuracy
The *biggest* relatable moment in this video was one of my thought people saying “fuck you” to one of my other thought people.
