- Description: Welcome to the “Digital Scrapbook” of our 2023 Anniversary trip to Europe. We’re celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary with a European adventure. The tenth episode of this series has us visiting Adelboden, a quaint ski village in the Swiss Alps. During our stay in Adelboden we stayed at the prestigious Cambrian Hotel. We spent the mornings visiting various points of interest in and around Adelboden. The afternoons were spent relaxing at the pool and spa in the hotel. We had four outings one per day. The first full day we took the gondola up to Tschentenalp, tried the Giant swing and hiked back down the mountain. The second day we visited the beautiful water fall Engstligenfälle. The third day we hiked to Cholerenschlucht and the last day we hiked and enjoyed the Alpine Garden, Alpengarten Höreli.

It takes me back to the 8 day group hiking tour I did with HF Holidays tour company in July 2023. We were based in Adelboden. Each day was a different group day hike. Our leaders spoke excellent English. Looks like you had better weather than us. We had rain and/or clouds almost every day. Even so, it was an unforgettable trip. Incredible video that you share, it helps me a lot because I am planning my trip soon, I have a question, how do I get closer to the Engstligen Falls waterfall? I would appreciate an answer
There is a bus from Adelboden that will take with in a 15 minute walk to the falls. From there you can hike up to the viewing platform...it can get a bit muddy but very much worth it.
Hi, can you tell me if the half fare card will cover travel from Zurich to Adelboden
Yes, our Swiss Travel pass covered travel from Zurich to Adelboden 100% including the final bus ride into Adelboden. If you have the half fare card you should have a similar experience...of course you will have to pay the half fare. I hope you have an amazing time!
