Fallout (Released Sept 30, 1997), is a post-apocalyptic RPG, developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Interplay Interactive. Roughly 200 years after the great war in 2077, you play as a blue jumpsuit-clad dweller of Vault 13. This vault in particular is one of several underground shelters in the desolate southern California region. The water purification chip in your vault is now failing, and the Overseer tasks YOU with venturing out into the wasteland to save Vault 13.

After founding out where the dude was in the third option, I had lots of trouble trying to take out the dudes guarding the place. I decided on opening the door (which would force me into combat) and then retreating to the nearby friendly guards. After taking advantage of their A.I, some how one of the friendly guards shot a local in their town. After the bad guys died in combat, the guards decided to literally kill every single civilian they could find. They went into buildings, walked down the streets and merciless gunned down anyone in their sights.

The old AI in this game is funny af sometimes, if a guard shoots a brahim they mow down the whole stock :D
Meanwhile in Fallout 2 all you need to get it is to head to either the Mariposa military base, or just go to San Francisco and buy it. I had more of a problem in that game finding vendors with enough caps to sell the mountains of crap I had collected more than anything else! Thanks for the guide though Cadeo! I haven't played much Fallout 1...
Meanwhile in Fallout 4 you get a full suit in the first hour with almost no effort required, and no training needed.
In Fallout 2 you can just go straight from Arroyo to SF and then to Navarro to get Adv. Power Armor
@@tatodziadekpl4289 The road will be quite challenging in early levels, however. You'll encounter a lot of Wanamingos and Enclave patrols.
My trick: I Go to San Fran, get Chip’s spleen back (for the easy XP), then talk to Lao Chou the arms dealer. With a decent sum of caps you can purchase some C4 explosives from him, then use the steal skill to plant them right back on him. After he explodes, you’re free to steal his power armor and make a beeline for Navarro. EZ.
In mariposa you have to fight through a massive group of super mutants, or wait until you are far enough on to unlock sam fran and save up 40000 dollars.

Three you can talk to the brotherhood clerk to get the motivator, but you'll need to pass a speech check. Speech of around 30 will be sufficient to get this, but it's 50/50 at this level.

in Fallout 2 you can get hardened advanced power armour mark two.
Go to the hidden enclave bunker.
talk your way past the sarge.
loot lockers.
go to the hubologists and talk to the scientist.
Hardened admk2 and even the wiki doesn't say anything about it.
Meanwhile, you can find X0-1 power armor in a locker at Navarro.

Cadeo, I think it would be rather neat if you do a walkthrough of fallout one and two. Not many people do it, and with your weapon and armor playthroughs it would be great!
this was easier than I expected
Two, if you don't want to do the glow you can enter the bunker with 51 in Lockpick and an electronic lockpick, (but be prepared to savescum). Lockpick of 70 + electronic lockpick will almost always get you through without breaking your picks.
Couple of points here. 1, you don't need a reputation of 16. A reputation of neutral will suffice for Talos offering the quest to you.
The reputation is for being offered the Power Armor, I believe.

I wish PA in Fallout New Vegas looked and functioned like that in 1 and 2. It feels too much like just a suit of clothing :(
I'm Charming it did in fallout 3 also. That’s why I respect the power armor in fallout 4 so much. It feels like power armor and not just some simple clothing you can put on

pRoJect 45 am I the only one who prefers it that way, anyways it’s heavy as fuck and in hardcore mode it’s nearly impossible to wear all the time compared to simply finding it and wearing it with no training and being overpowered within 20 mins.... of fallout 4

@@r32guy85 okay, so I’m a bit wrong here. It is reputation AND level. Try doing odd jobs for the brotherhood or do good things for other people and level up to I think 10 or 12, then from that point you should be able to.
I pissed Kyle off and he won’t talk to me. I also completed the Hub quest but there was no option for power armor (too low reputation?) any other options?

Are power armors essential to beat Fallput 1 and 2?
If you go for no combat in Fallout 1 then you only need children's robes. Fallout 2 requies Advanced Power Armor (not sure about normal one) in order to get past security at oil rig. They are essential when you go full combat anyway.

@@Don11037 it's because if you talk to Keith, the dude who allows you to repair the Power Armor, before the other guy then u can't receive it from doing the initiate mission
In order to get power armor after saving the initiate, your reputation with the Brotherhood has to be 16 or higher. If not, then you'll get only the other options.
I did the repaired power armor quest, then realized that I have already rescued the BoS initiate on the very first run so the guy on the base gave me another, so now I have two power armor. Sadly, I think none of our companions can use it, so it's a waste.

i think that you need to have a high enough reputation in order for the power armor to be an option
I did the 3# way and resuced the initiate. All I got was Brotherhood combat armor ...

3:36 That's not true. I'm playing FO1 right now and that guy wont offer me power armor as a reward.
If getting power armor from Talus after saving the initiate from old town wasn't an option, you may not have met the 16 reputation/karma requirement.

This is only my second official playthrough (meaning I'm actually determined to see it through to the end) and I still have trouble with the slow pace and meticulous nature of this type of rpg. Btw, two named Scribes in Lost Hills refuse to barter with me. Is my reputation with them really low and that's why they won't barter with me?
@@Knight_Of_Eleum_Loyce I'm not sure about that one. The only scribe I tended to associate with was the surgeon.
@@CaedoGenesis it's fine. I'm starting to like Fallout 1 a lot more BUT I'm kind of over this playthrough. I love the aesthetics and the gritty everything is in Fallout 1 but it also tests my patience a lot. You know the Cathedral? Well I barely talked to them. Idk if they have quests available for the player and I think "The Master" is below the Cathedral but I killed everyone in the main part of the Cathedral. I also killed the first Nightkin you come across in the Cathedral but after that I didn't even bother trying. So far at least. Sorry for rambling. This is just a crazy experience.

So I did method #3 and talus gave me brotherhood armor instead of power armor
So for hardening the armor, I talked to miles and he sent me to Sam, but Sam isn’t giving me the rest of the quest. Can someone help me?

I did both side quests to get power armor from 2 separate NPCs. And umm... Now I have 2. Is there any good reason to hang on to the second set or should I sell it to the gunrunners?
I mean mods exist to update Fallout 1 NPC's to Fallout 2 NPC rules but there gonna be at least 10 years old. Try NoMutantAllowed maybe?
i has been a year, but as the other guy said, if you are playing fallout 1 i recommend fallout et tu, it runs in the fallout 2 engine and has a few additions like companions putting on armor (and pushing them so they dont get you locked in a room)

Great. I repaired the armor but can't get inside. You conveniently skipped that part. Clicking on it just says I can't pick it up. What am I missing?
It's very heavy, so you'll need to empty your inventory till there's room.

NPC's didn't wear additional armor in Fallout 1, they could in Fallout 2 but their sprites didn't changes. Mods exist for both issues but are gonna be 10 years old now.
