I usually don't add comments, but this is one of the best tutorials I have seen online. Easy to follow, straight to the point, edited well. Very professional, thank you!
I made these baskets yesterday and am very pleased with the results. As someone new to sewing I found your video easy to follow and learned a lot. Thank you I have gained confidence from this project.
Thank you very much for your very clear video. Following your instructions I made two baskets (22 cm, adjusting the corner size). I repurposed old jeans (so I decided to skip the fusible) and an old pair of light summer shorts for the lining. They came out very nice. Sorry I can't upload a pic. 👏❣
Love it 💝 I’ve been looking for a little stash bag to go next to the sewing machines for the 4H girls I’ve been privileged to help learn to sew. Cups, bowls, etc. float all over the place. These will make cute gifts for the end of the sessions! Thank you so much 😊
Just finished making several of these handy baskets. This is an excellent, straight forward pattern. However, I made a few modifications. I fused mid-weight interfacing to the outer cotton fabric then layered it on top of a piece of batting and a piece of muslin the same size. Using my walking foot, I stitched around the outside edges and did some light quilting focused on the center of the square which is the section that shows the most once the basket is complete. When sewing the squares together, I stitched around the three sides then marked the corner squares to cut out afterwards. The result is a very sturdy basket that stands up quite well. I created an XXS small size using 9” squares with 2” cutouts.
I’m brand new to sewing, but this was so easy to follow and so fun to make! I have no sense of size for finished products so I made the small thinking it’d be small 🤣 I was surprised at how big it turned out! I really love it! I’ll need to make the extra small next!
After searching and searching I found this video to make my own fabric planter I’m so happy with the outcome! This was the best and easy video to follow thank you!
Ok I saw your tutorial and made the xl large 21 x 21 and I thought I had heavy enough interfacing. Nope it will not stand up. Andy ideas I could use for inside to help with the problem. Was going to give to my daughter to take to sporting events. Thank you
These are charming and the best instructions I've seen. Saying leave the lining wrong side out😂 I might well have turned otherwise! Can you wash these?
I also love your format and the music! Question - I'm trying to make a basket to fit a space = 11" long (across the front) X 13" deep (front to back) X 8" tall (with cuff folded down) finished product. What would my cutting sizes be? Thanks in advance!
I haven't tested that size but try some cheap scrap fabric first adding 1 inch to your measurements (this will be 1/2 inch to each side for the seam allowances). For the cuff I'd experiment with an extra 3 inches. Good luck with it .

Use 2 layers of interfacing. Iron one to the lining and one to the outside fabric.
Well with extra heavy interfacial I had the issue of it being too rigid and impossible to turn right side on. Never mind passing it through the gap!
excellent tutorial! so clear and easy to understand. thank you for sharing! 🌻
