    Thank you for finally being the first video that actually shows you how to make them as opposed to making them while talking about their personal life giving no guidance on what's being made!

    I have come back to this video several times the past 2 yrs. I see some fabric that would work so well as gifts, like chicken or farm, that made an excellent container to hold eggs gathered from the chicken coop. I gotta confess that I thought trying a stiffer craft fusion would be impressive and stand up very rigid. Well, turning the bag was almost impossible but I finally got it. I also want to mention that when using a directional print like dogs, cars etc the folding up and sewing sides left the back with upside down dogs, cars etc. I have learned to cut in half, flip upside down and sew together when working with a directional fabric. It then has the finished bag all in the right direction.

      @chicnscratch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the same issue when using a stiffer product. Try this instead, use the fusible fleece on the front fabric and the liner and that should do the trick (even better if you use a thinner fusible fleece on the lining fabric like the one I used on my handled tote bag). Thanks for the tip on the upside down dogs... my layer cake fabric basket shows how to use two pieces of fabric for that very reason. Have a great day!

    This is a great size and I like the simplicity of using a fat quarter. I made several and lined them with natural colored canvas and used a lightweight interfacing for the exterior and no need for it on the canvas. Everyone has their own way of doing these and it’s fun seeing the different ways.

    *QUESTION*
    Reference to the bottom corners of these baskets. When measuring the corners. = Is the finished product twice the width of your measurements.? Meaning if I measured 1-1/2 inch square I'd end up with a 3 inch wide bottom.?
    Or if I measured 2-1/2 inch square I'd end up with a 5 inch wide bottom.?

    Sweet baby Jesus..THAT'S how you sew the top of the bag! you basically slide the sewing machine inside and go around 🤯 I have been thinking for WEEKS how are they getting the top seams so straight. I have been watching tutorials but they tell you what to do and show it done but this video actually shows how to do it. THANK YOU 😊

    I got rid of all my fabric because I felt my sewing days were done. Love paper crafting too much. However you've convinced me to try these. Great directions.

      I'd love to see your basket if you make one.

    Hello on my first basket I did cut out the 1-1/2” square. On the second basket I did not cut out the 1-1/2” square for the bottom. I think it was easier then I trimmed with a rotary cutter the triangle of the bottom to leave a 1/2” seam.

    So cute! Love them. One suggestion would be to put a packet of something in the layers at the bottom to ground the basket, like sand, to give a little weight, then less likely to fall over. Thanks for the tutorial!!!😊

      Hi Deanna, if your basket fell over I wonder if you used the same fusible fleece? The one I use is pretty strong and they don't fall over.

    I truly enjoyed this video. You explain so clearly even a beginner like me can understand. It would help me of you referred to fabric as right side and wrong side, instead of outside.
