I miss Paunayan sa Valencia 😢 I lived in Dumaguete back in 2018 and this Sunday Market was my go-to place for fruit shopping. This town also grows some lanzones but the most famous variety is the one from Mambajao, Camiguin. It's best to visit there in October.

There are two fruits I really love most, lansones and Philippine mango...I tried mango from Egypt and India and Yemen but it tasted so blunt. I mean the flavor is just like a mango in a pack or bottle. But lansones, I can eat 3 kilograms to 5 kilograms all by myself. It cleanses our kidneys and blood vessels too.

Lanzones is highly addictive. I could finish 1kg in one sitting. Davao has a lot of fruits. You should try custard apple, rambutan, mangosteen, durian, and I must say, I've tasted mangoes from all over the world and I find the Carabao mango from the island of Guimaras the sweetest. It is sooo juicy you literally have to eat above the sink. You have to check when the best time to buy mangoes so you get the sweetest ones. You will absolutely LOVE it.

Big lanzones is not the best because it has big seeds. It is better to get the not so big lanzones. Btw the peak season for lanzones is October,by that time lanzones is sweet.

If you have time to research the fruit festival in kidapawan City you will be amazed of our fruits here its a two kilometer long free eat all you can of fruits aside from its float and a bundle of different fruits for only 150..we celebrate it. Every august..it's so much fun here try to watch video 😊😊..it's 2 hours away from Davao
Everything is expensive nowadays specially veggies and fruits. You might want to consider planting some veggies in some pots and grow some greens. I for example planted several pots of onions, ginger, chilies and garlics. Prices of this items in particular tend to skyrocket alot so its better to be self sufficient. This are not to hard to grow and require minimal care so its a win win. Eggplants, cabbages , tomatoes and lettuce are also very easy to grow and manage.

In our province,fruits are just falling from the trees. Neighbors will just ask permission to get fruits if its in our backyard,and everyone,always agree and allow neighbors to get fruits from their trees. If the tree is in the open and in public area,its just free to get it which most people do.
I highly recommended to try Rattan Fruit. It looks like a snake scale skinned lanzones. But it's really sour and we enjoyed it with salt. I don't know if there's available in Dumaguete.

It's buko shake and not buko juice. When you buy table banana ask for a lakatan variety because it's the best much better than latundan and señorita variety. When you buy lanzones you can always ask to try one piece if it's sweet and always ask for a discount which is very common here in the Philippines.

Off season of lots of vegetables and fruit, but, unlike until early 2000's price hikes setted by traders, they were just contented to raise it bet. P5 to P10 on off seasons. unlike now, they are always too greedy of looking for alibis, like this war on Ukrain & the evil of "Law of Supply and Demand" which bullshit to double or more, the prices, a syndicated style widespread now among traders. Lanzones have a very short season , bit rare.picking a good lanzones, pick the small one,they most probably don't have pits,the pits are very very bitter when you bit on them. Ants!!!!... Look for the stall that have the pile of lanzones that have a lot of black ants roaming around the lanzones,that means the lanzones are sweet

Lakatan is rare to find, i think the one you referring to is actually cavendish variety which is ideal for export

Off season of lots of vegetables and fruit, but, unlike until early 2000's price hikes setted by traders, they were just contented to raise it bet. P5 to P10 on off seasons.
unlike now, they are always too greedy of looking for alibis, like this war on Ukrain & the evil of "Law of Supply and Demand" which bullshit to double or more, the prices, a syndicated style widespread now among traders.

Lanzones have a very short season , bit rare.picking a good lanzones, pick the small one,they most probably don't have pits,the pits are very very bitter when you bit on them. Ants!!!!... Look for the stall that have the pile of lanzones that have a lot of black ants roaming around the lanzones,that means the lanzones are sweet

Lanzones is cheaper in camiguin island. Like i bought 1 kilo of lanzones for 25-35peso per kilo.
