I absolutely adore this show and will miss it greatly. I found it late but I have seen every episode, read every media release and interview involving these wonderful people. It will be hard to say goodbye for me so I cant imagine how it will feel for those who have watched religiously since day one. Oy!
[2:07] "....Just really test the audiences commitment to the show."---That's funny! I love that they make fun of themselves, the show a bit. Truly fantastic interview! ...Some great scoops. The final season [24 episodes worth] in a span of 56 hours. It's..... Interesting. It is something new, original. Fantastic interview!
Throughout the entire series, these are the three things I have always wondered: 1) where the FUCK did the pineapple come from 2) Barney's profession. 3) Ted's wife, but I guess that's already answered.
The captain left it outside his house.... When they didn't even knew each other.. Captain says in he last episode. 2) barney's profession - P. L. E. A. S. E ( also in 22 or 24th episode... When he's drunk he tells about it to ted )
They should reveal random loose ends like the dune buggie and the strange things that happened in the apartment over then years eg barney escaping a tank of water
Watching this in the aftermath seems to give me clues of what was to come. And now that Carter and Craig are back peddling with releasing an alternate finale in the dvds it makes me see these in a different way too. :) #himymfinale
how would the show explain that though without leaving the final season in a dark and upsetting ending, you'd just feel like you were waiting for the mother through 9 seasons then she just.. died.
I'm one of the most complex characters and difficult to understand in the history of mankind. In my spare time when I've got absolutely nothing to do, I like to surf the internet and rustle people's jimmies and have a laugh at people getting angry at me. Since you chose to respond by getting angry, you've given me the entertainment I get every day on the internet. I appreciate it, and thank you for making an example of yourself. Btw, Ted the teddy bear>Barney Stinson. Please respond.
He means his specific job, like Ted is an architect, Lilly is an art consultant...Barney's job is one of the running gags on the show. In one episode it was made clear what he knew could start a war with Portugal LOL
Its weird watching this again when there is only 4 episodes left to air but they have wrapped production. C and C promised a musical number..we havent gotten it yet!
What I don’t get is that they do a cheeky reference to this in the outro of season 3 episode 14 where the doogie theme plays, so idk how Jason wouldn’t have picked up on that in the four or five years inbetween
was literally about to write this until i saw that. i 100% agree. if your mother is dead you dont complain when your father sits you down to tell you the story.
[2:07] "....Just really test the audiences commitment to the show." This one line could not be more funny, or true. I love that they make fun of themselves, the show a bit. Truly fantastic interview! ...Some great scoops. The final season [24 episodes worth] in a span of 56 hours. It's..... Interesting. It is something new, original, and a good way to attract more viewers. I know I'm curious, although I'll be watching regardless. I can only hope the execution of it is a success.
Fitting the whole wedding in 23-25 episodes. Sounds bitter-sweet to me. I want another one after that, that season should be like the mother is just hanging out with the group everyday.
Very much true, but considering HIMYM's length and all, I think the authors didn't even know how to reveal the whole thing while doing the show. I don't know, but I think originally it was just a vague idea having the purpose of giving the show a unique storytelling method.
i think because in the last episode of season 8 it was 56 hours to the wedding so season 9 takes place over the course of the wedding including the 56 hours... if that makes sense
am i the only one who thinks micheal ausiello is so rude? if you watch him in the big bang theory interview he gets really defensive and makes the whole thing so awkward. also he never laughs along with the jokes or anything, he just sits there :/ sorry if some people like him but yh
I think it might be that the mother is working abroad. We all know Ted is an emotional person who LOVES his stories, he misses her and told his kids about how he met her in one of those emotional times of his that we all know so well about. That would make more sense for me.
OMG I forgot about that. He also said she was a bull fighter and he'd get to that later. I hope Craig and Carter don't forget all these things they left us wondering about. I cant wait to see Robin find out that.
i love this show so funny and i thought it was cancelled but its not soo gotta get caught up but i never knew it took this long to tell your kids how i met their mother
questions still neede to be answered: The pineapple incident (what the heck where di the pineapple actually came from?) What does barney do for a living?
He will say "just kidding, you both are adopted" at the end of this series
At least Josh understood!!! "EIGHT great seasons" :)
They all understood that though.
Because untill then only 8 seasons came out
7:27 is still my favorite part.. His reactions is hilarious ..
I love it how Jason was the one who brought up the pineapple incident, while in the series, his character was the more intrigued about it.
Agree.
Neil - "I was on this thing for 4 seasons called Dougie Howser M.D...." Jason - "OH MY GOD!!!" I just want to say, Jason, you're awesome.
8 yrs and it never came up?🤣
For the people from 9gag: skip to 7:20
Tando Linggar Bumi write*
i dont get the joke
Man i'm here for this xD
Thanks dude
I love how he completely fangirls as soon as he realises it was him.
Barney's right. Ted should suit up more often.
I absolutely adore this show and will miss it greatly. I found it late but I have seen every episode, read every media release and interview involving these wonderful people. It will be hard to say goodbye for me so I cant imagine how it will feel for those who have watched religiously since day one. Oy!
7:20 best reaction ever
3:57 ....niel and the writer do the exact same laugh....hahaha
Josh has the funniest face when he laughs! haha
[2:07] "....Just really test the audiences commitment to the show."---That's funny! I love that they make fun of themselves, the show a bit. Truly fantastic interview! ...Some great scoops. Fantastic interview!
Not very often i watch an interview and sit here amazed at the interviewer! He's good!
+Wez Evans Tell me that was sarcasm.
this dude sucked major chode
Turns out Ted just went insane from countless failed relationships and loneliness and he wakes up in a mental hospital and it was all a dream
Jason's reaction to Neil's revelation. Absolutely hilarious.
7:20 is just so great and Jason's reaction made me laugh so much.
Jason Segel is such an adorable stoner. XD
The way that NPH says Brit Brit is the most adorable and wonderful thing ever!!!
Even the interview feels like hanging out in Mclaren's
0:52 holy shit they weren't joking
I can't believe ted is actually wearing a SUIT!
(It's actually a blazer)
Barney; I made 4 seasons of dougie houser..
Segel; OMG ! THAT WAS YOU?!?!
Hahaha
This cast is truly amazing. It's like watching a comedy of its own.
Amazing to see how interested and hyped up the actual cast is about the story of how i met your mother
haha OMG I love that interview! There talking with each other more than answering the questions.AWESOMS
9gag anyone?
same! i saw the gif
+Zemi Asri (Zemxxs) jepp
Nice, 9gagers unite
same here! :D we are like 9gag tourists visiting different culture :)
I wanted to write that :)
I had no idea nail was doogie howser he looks completely different. You learn something new everyday.
I've watched the whole way up to date since December... I'm addicted!
Marshell is so stoned :')
Ted said he didn't have to wear anything he didn't like, does he really like the red cowboy boots? :D
he was sarcastic because he wore a dress in one episode
He wore many worse things then red cowboy boots.
Throughout the entire series, these are the three things I have always wondered:

neil: i worked on this show where i was a teenage doctor called doogie houser
jason: YOU were DOOGIE HOUSER!
just watched season 8 finale for the first time. i litteraly have a tear in my eye... i love this show so fricking much..
They should reveal random loose ends like the dune buggie and the strange things that happened in the apartment over then years eg barney escaping a tank of water
wow such an amazing interview. I laughed a lot and the questions were really good!
Watching this in the aftermath seems to give me clues of what was to come. And now that Carter and Craig are back peddling with releasing an alternate finale in the dvds it makes me see these in a different way too. :) #himymfinale
God i love Neil
I want to know what's behind that door at the bar.
Remember when Lily was in labor and she made Robin and Ted tell her stories? YEAH THAT DOOR.
"Brit-Brit......just kidding" just made my day.
Neil is flawless.
God is Jason segal always eating a sandwich.
Edit go to 7:25
this show is legendary
at 5:12 jason just so casually and with no emotion 'he's amazing' im laughing so much and i don't know why
the bloody pineapple!
Neil is amazinggg i loveeee him
Jason at 7:26!! HAHA
Haha Neil "I don't want to talk about it"
jason segel's reaction to Doogie was priceless..
how would the show explain that though without leaving the final season in a dark and upsetting ending, you'd just feel like you were waiting for the mother through 9 seasons then she just.. died.
Jason's Laugh is awesome. HIMYM MOVIE PLEASE! so we can see how Ted's relationship with the mother progresses!

The pineapple incident! So glad they have talked about it!
Its weird watching this again when there is only 4 episodes left to air but they have wrapped production. C and C promised a musical number..we havent gotten it yet!
who's cranston? 4:28
also i just love watching the guys interact and laugh and joke and stuff offset
What I don’t get is that they do a cheeky reference to this in the outro of season 3 episode 14 where the doogie theme plays, so idk how Jason wouldn’t have picked up on that in the four or five years inbetween
was literally about to write this until i saw that. i 100% agree. if your mother is dead you dont complain when your father sits you down to tell you the story.
Countdown to the news? I think it was cool how Jason and Aly did that final scene in one take. They both did fantastic job.
more seasons! Please!
Jason Segel is AWESOME!!!
Love's Segel's reaction on the Doogie Howser talk ...dude you lost a lot of weight!
Neil: That way Doogie Howser ended... ouch, that's cold. Jason: Wow that was so interesting what you told us about Freaks & Geeks.
Its Gonna be LEGEND-wait till season nine-DARY!
[2:07] "....Just really test the audiences commitment to the show." This one line could not be more funny, or true.

they are all amazing! season 9 will be GREAT!
I will miss this show so much!
No idea if you ever found out the answer to your question or not but just incase... they are the creators of the show.
Fitting the whole wedding in 23-25 episodes.
Sounds bitter-sweet to me. I want another one after that, that season should be like the mother is just hanging out with the group everyday.

So when ARE we going to find out about the Pineapple? How and when will they solve that AFTER the finale? Now I really want to know!!!!!
I totally forgot about the pineapple! !
i guess they might put something in the DVD extras, or maybe we shall never know... but at least we know what barney does for a living now :)
Belle Holliday-Williams Jaclyn Crawford TheSplatt09 , it's already out. did you watch it yet? the pineapple incident? lol
Man I'm so happy to finally see Ted truly happy!
i think because in the last episode of season 8 it was 56 hours to the wedding so season 9 takes place over the course of the wedding including the 56 hours... if that makes sense
if you watched the episode 'Woooo!' (S.4 Eps.8) you'll notice that Sven asks which one is Barney Stinson, head of the search committee.
Will always love this show!!!
2:44 Jason(Marshall) is just so adorable :)
This is an awesome cast! Love the dynamic between them :)
But where were the girls?
wow i love this dynamic
am i the only one who thinks micheal ausiello is so rude? if you watch him in the big bang theory interview he gets really defensive and makes the whole thing so awkward. also he never laughs along with the jokes or anything, he just sits there :/ sorry if some people like him but yh
That's the magic of tv editing.
They mean that the whole season (24 episodes) is going to take place in the course of only 52 hours of the show's time.
Can't wait to watch season 9!!! My favourite thing is even the cast don't know where the pineapple was from lol
I'm committed to the Show...idc where it goes. Love it
I think it might be that the mother is working abroad. We all know Ted is an emotional person who LOVES his stories, he misses her and told his kids about how he met her in one of those emotional times of his that we all know so well about. That would make more sense for me.
Huge win that Jason made the callback to the Pineapple!
The Goodwin Games was such a good show, too. Damn. haha
Omg! Ted suited up!!!
love jason's suit. where can i get it from? what colour is it?? :)
9gag tourist over here!
/watch?v=sqpkX2AidVk at 7:20
OMG I forgot about that.
I'm gonna cry like a little baby when it's over...
best interviewer ever
They tell you in that episode, you have to watch the last 30 seconds after the commercial break.
I love it how jason segel outside of his acting wants to know what happened to the pineapple
flashing forward/flashbacks/escape hatch? is this himym or lost? starring neil patrick harris/jason segel & josh radner
no exactly, himym ended at season 8 and barney and robin never got divorced ❤️
really!? ahhh so Psych were the sneaky ones! ha, you learn something new everyday :P
questions still neede to be answered:
The pineapple incident
(what the heck where di the pineapple actually came from?)
What does barney do for a living?
8:18 [shifty eyes]
watched the whole thing just for that hahaha worth it...
rofl i love the arrested development reference.
