Before DEMOLISHER part he speaks Russian. In English it means “Everyone will be taken away from everything they love so much. There are no broken destinies. From birth there is a fire in the eyes. Death comes and it will wake you up”
Thw rim shot he does is called a Gravity Blast and the free hand one is a Blast Beat.. he does both and with both hands... The Double Bass he uses a technique called Heel Toe...
They just released a purple mask that I'm about to buy! I saw them last year at Inkcarceration in ohio and it was absolutely amazing!!!!!! Can't wait to see them live again someday!!! Also, yes. He will ask for silence and then yell without a microphone and you hear him clear as day from a great distance away. It's absolutely incredible
Awesome reaction again Matt, always fun to watch. Thank you buddy. This made my drive to work more enjoyable. I would suggest the next one, either 1984 or Baba Yaga
Evgeny Novikov can do "regular" blast beats with both left or right hand... what You are referring to (from the Viking video) is just another technique called "gravity blast"... it's just a question of what sound is he going for, as gravity blast has a bit different sound compared to "regular" blast beat, due to hitting the rim of the snare...
The "Rim blast" (gravity blast) is mostly used for faster blasts. In Viking he uses the gravity blast because it's much faster than the blast he uses in Demolisher. He could've blasted normally in Viking but he would probably have to play it half time bc Gravity blasting is more efficient
I think for this song he opted not to use the gravity blast because the bpm is a little lower and he can play single strokes efficiently, so might as well have the power behind a full stroke. Sounds a lot fuller for hammer blast sections like those.
1984 is another must from them. It's an amazing song, but what I find even more awesome is the lyrics. It's the song they wrote in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. To summarize, I'm 99% sure they'd "disappear" if they ever return to Russia after that one.
pertaining to if you can buy the masks, which are dubbed the "kid of darkness", yes you can. they are all handmade and are quite expensive. ranging from 100 to 250 dollars USD. the masks are actually really cool.
I’d highly suggest checking out Spencer Prewett. Drone Corpse Aviator has some good footage. He has a playthrough of their song Lucid Collective Somnambulation with Drum! Magazine.
I have one of the masks. I have worn it but it's a little small on me so i can't make the mouth move or anything. So now it just sits on my weapons wall. (I collect swords and stuff)
Yes, you can buy these, no, I unfortunately don’t have one, and honestly it’s kind of like a display piece, you can wear it but it also looks badass on a shelf
Every October, “Buying mask, full Alex (RussianHate vest, etc) this Halloween!” Wife terrible, “Don’t forget to call divorce attorney.” It’s become a running joke.
Bro imma drummer who can play this song the snare technique is called a gravity blast and the bass drum technique is called heal toe or swivels what ever is comfortable and from my perspective learning how to use both hands the same way goes so far and makes it easier to move around the kit
For some interesting whiplash, since you've checked out bands like Lorna Shore and Slaughter to Prevail, I think checking out "Impending Doom - Murderer" would be interesting to see, them being a Christian band but do the same vocals (catagorically)
I’m a few days late to this, but you asked about Alex not using a microphone live and this is a clip of him performing Viking and doing exactly that! It’s honestly insane how much power he has with his vocals th-cam.com/users/shortsmWBBqhkRIIg?si=03kUk1SIUjBBQPyB
bro you have to do the poetic edda by disembodied tyrant and synestia that sht is way too good also evgeny the drummer has a very, very unique way of playing it would be awesome if you could do one of his playthroughs and give some more opinions or analysis
I would spam this message under every video until you react to Evgeny Novikov(Slaughter to prevail drummer) - Ouroboros. Drum play through. This is phenomenal. Btw ur reactions are great! Keep going ❤
You need to check out “When a Demon Defiles a Witch” by White Chapel next. You also have to watch the video. I don’t want to ruin anything, so all I’ll say is that the song is not about what you think from the title. You should check out the backstory afterward. It’s powerful.
You don't have to wear it hang it on the wall behind you! 😜 Personally I only like 3 STP songs on my playlist but I would 100% see them live, 100% buy a mask and love to see people react to how freaking talented they all are. "Conflict" is their newest song if you care to check that out as well. He covers a few pop songs that are pretty damn good.
@@teckreactions pretty sure it's pretty much the same thing as in English. It quotes a Norse folk band that you might find interesting called Heilung. The song he paraphrases in English is called Kreigsgaldr. Very interesting music that uses bones, skins etc for Instuments.
Just discovered your channel. Good stuff….. yes yes yes 100000000x yes dude. Do chandelier…. It’s awesome, hilarious and way better than original imo. Also I does lots of covers of songs like that too.
Yeah okay. I had to stop it at just past 4 minutes, I can't lol.. sounds just like the stuff some bands were doing when I went to highschool in the 80's, and wasnt a fan of the genre then either. I mean, the speed metal aspect is cool, but what's the point of bothering to write lyrics if you're going to scream them unintelligibly? To each their own I guess. And to your question, I subbed in from your Tom MacDonald God Mode react. Guess they all can't be bangers. 😂 Sticking around though! Curious about your own story, seeng these led in as Worship Drummer Reacts, what's that about? Anyway, keep it coming, I'll check it out even though you're wearing the black and yellow 😂
Black and yellow REPRESENT! The “Worship Drummer Reacts” thing was an idea from the very beginning of the channel because I was trying to communicate how I view music. I’ve been performing for decades in a variety of styles (see my 1,000 followers video for more on that and what I do today) but for about 15 years, I’ve primarily played in the Christian praise and worship space. I figured it would be intriguing to others to see maybe what this style (and the associated faith aspect) brings to the table. As you can see, I’ve really enjoyed most of the music I’ve reacted to, across all genres. Check out some of the other artists you’ve never heard before. You may find something you like! 💙
@@teckreactions okay I can dig that. My kitchen radio stays on k-love radio 24-7, but I'm not always in the kitchen. Lauren Daigle probably my favorite there, such a voice! But I love all kinds of music. I would marry Lindsey Stirling without question, I can't rave on her enough. Whole world needs to know her. Discovered her 10-11 years ago with Crystalize, and it's been fun watching her grow. But one I recently found and was blown away by was Wolf Totem by the Hu Band. Holy cow if that isn't a primal battle song.. dang it I have to go hear it again now. Well, after your 1k likes thing. Dawg Pound 4 life! 😅

I feel like you would appreciate watching the official drum playthrough for this song
Any of the drum prlaythroughs on Evgeny's channel. The older Catalepsy tracks are really good.
Ehh, he might not enjoy to show the blood and the pentagram in the most popular.
@@LeperMessiah2 theatrics. I can honestly say I'm no closer to becoming a Satanist after having watched that video
@@Mike.daFonz of course not but the gentleman in question has a clear Christian incentive on his channel so..

The cover of Chandelier is fantastic! Demolisher predates Viking by 4 years or so. It was one of the first singles off their last album Kostolom.
The drum ring fulcrum is called gravity blasts. He does those for the REALLY fast blasts, and he's so tight.
Right

The rim as a fulcrum is called a gravity blast. Many deathcore drummers use this technique and techdeath drummers use it all the time

I would suggest the next one, either 1984 or Baba Yaga
Cool, thanks!
Yes i have one. Signed by the tband and i had alex sketch his scar on it
PLEASE DO THE CHANDELIER COVER!!!!!!!!!
The rim blast you describe is called a "gravity blast".
I’ve been in the STP wall of death, it’s amazing! They’re intense live!
I think teaching your kids what "Blegh" is should totally be a part of their education haha.
🤣
They have a store site where you can get one. I actually got the limited edition blood splatter mask. It’s SO NICE in person!
and now the drum playthrough of this please

You might want to check out Archspire's "Bleed the Future" if you go down this rabbit hole, they won the Canadian music prize for that song/album.

You need to react to Head On a Plate from them. The mid part during guitar solo has faster drums than Demolisher
Archspire's Drone Corpse Aviator. Their drummer isn't human
