Naibu Inspekta Jenerali wa polisi Gilbert Masengeli ameomba msamaha kwa mahakama kwa kukosa kuhudhuria vikao vya mahakama kuelezea waliko watu watatu waliodaiwa kutekwa nyara na polisi katika eneo la Kitengela. Masengeli ameapa kuwa atahudhuria vikao vya mahakama na kutekeleza wajibu wake wa kuhakikisha sheria inafuatwa. Aidha ameelezea kuwa hakufanya kusudi kukataa kufika mahakamani bali alikuwa na majukumu ya kikazi yaliyomfanya kukosa kufika mahakamani. Aidha amesema kuwa anaheshimu mahakama na atawajibika. Haya yanajiri huku akikata rufaa kuhusu hukumu ya miezi sita aliyopewa na jaji Lawrence Mugambi.

Masengeli has very stupid advisors. Why would he ask for apology, while the court ruling was based on coercion. In the first place, he wasn't in office when Gen Z protests started. Luhyas have very poor reasoning quota. If it was Kinoti the ex-DCI director, he wouldn't even attend or offer apologies for such court nonsense.

@@cuttingedgeConsistentTraders no. The Ruling as I recall hearing it from the good judge’s mouth was that the three could be released immediately or Masengeli was to report to jail today. He the judge said very clearly that the purpose of the Ruling or Order was to get the 3 freed. And it has worked. Lets rejoice about the release.
Lastly, the right to life is the most important right in all constitutions in the world. The rest can and do or should follow.
Masengeli will be heavily fined for the contempt of court,
