This is my experience after a week stay at the Coco Grove Beach Resort. November 2023.
I had a great time, the staff truly makes this place great place to stay. They go over and beyond to see and anticipate your needs. Just ask and they will make it happen.
The food was good but could use more variety of Filipino food, us foreigners come to
try the local flavors not schnitzel. Sinigang, please add this to your menu...you staff made us
an impromptu "sinigang na baboy" dinner at it was fresh and delicious. Props!
Excellent stretch of beach with plenty sea-life and the sunsets are wild.

Thanks Greg! The days seems to go so fast in Siquijor, I could not get enough. Had to force ourselves to leave the resort each day to explore since Coco Grove was its own magnet of relaxation. Im still researching where the next Filipino adventure will be. Luzon Check, Visayas Check, Mindanao maybe? Take care my friend enjoy paradise!
@@SFO-RMEDIA It was my second time to Siquijor and had done the main tourist things so to discover Coco Grove we decided to stick to the resort for most of the time, we stopped at Monkey Business for lunch on the road from the Ferry Port to the resort, we went to Paliton Sancturary (not the "Better Paliton Beach" as listed on Google maps - the sanctuary was very quiet and perfect only a few other couples, we walked down to Runik Beach Club for sunset and amazing food and one lunch we ate at a small local restaurant across the highway from the turn into Runik - it is called Tambayanan Cafe-FaD Barn - the food was amazing and was recommended by our neighbors who come from Siquijor. It is easy for us to get to Siquijor so we will go explore again soon, even for a day or two to tour more of the island. I posted my first video Oct 30, 2022 and I am still learning each time. Take the time to watch others notice what you like and don't like and modify your approach keeping your style - it is an iterative process. So many try to take shortcuts and just copy others content - I still don't understand how TH-cam allows this, or even why they would allow it. I am missing something there.
I saw the "Hate the music" comment - your reply was very polite. I don't understand people like that there are millions of videos each day and I don't like many but I click next and for some I truly don't like click on the 3 dots ... and select not to see that Channel again. We all like different things but to take the time out of their day to share their music WISDOM confounds me that s/he would think the world values their opinion. I noted his/her channel started in Jan 17, 2021 and has ZERO POSTS - so I take comments like that for what it's worth.
I have had comments like Music is too loud, Hate the music, love the music, don't play music - all on the same video!!!!! Obviously can't please everyone.
One thing I learned it helps to review your content in the edit stage with earbuds/headphones so you can really hear the volume levels - that has helped me so I did learn.
But I just watched a famous TH-camr's video this AM and at one point the wind was so loud you couldn't hear him so you can only read the subtitles. He didn't bother dropping in a voice over he just went with it - so even the pros aren't perfect.
I was getting many tips, one from a guy with over 600,000 Subs - he liked my channel and was giving me advice that was impossible for me to do. I asked what his staff consisted of, he had 5 fulltime people, I reminded him it was ME - shooting most of the content, editing (VERY SLOW), still learning as I go - there was no way I could meet his suggestions. I improved but he said I would have grown much faster if I had followed his advice - but we need balance.
One thing I would highly recommend not to do is pay for views, likes, subs. A guy at the end of my street started a channel Jan 2023 - he saw I was slowly growing. He paid a company got his Subs and view hours in 4 days and was monetized - the problem with that is then what? He had a fake community - so once he stopped paying he has almost zero views. He would post almost daily and have under 10 views - down from thousands when was paying.
As I said before you will get there if you choose to keep going. I posted our first video Oct 30 2022 and we were monetized on Dec 14, 2023.
I almost quit 3 or 4 times - sometimes the trolls are ruthless - but we have to ignore them, delete them or block them - it is not worth engaging them as they double down. I have learned for every troll that gets entertainment from torturing someone they have never met and to reply to them is to feed their vulgar behavior. For example, I just checked now our best video has 1,536,836 views and was posted 8 months ago. It was a video made from our house to the Dumaguete Boulevard and we ate at the same restaurant where we had our first date, 4 years earlier in 2019. Some of the comments were offensive - they called my wife a prostitute, said she wasn't my wife I didn't even know her name (they obviously did not pay attention to the words, emojis and our humor went over their head) and many many more troll comments. We have had two other videos go big as well - what is the difference on those 3 videos from other 449 videos (452 posted to date) - not sure to be honest. I have way better videos that went no where - just have fun doing your thing and we will both grow as long as we choose to stay on this. By the way in the first 10-days of monetization we have made $14.33 - not quite a ferry ride to Siquijor YET! But as I told the guy who lived at the end of our block in Jan 2022 my goal was not to monetize so I will not pay anyone to get there - to me that makes no sense.
He paid and had 25,000 views when he quit paying. We didn't pay and gradually built to almost 5 million views.

@@CanadianInPhilipipnes Thanks for the thoughtful message. Yeah I get some not so nice comments from people that find my videos the answer to insomnia. I try to give them X3 kindness back because its only words. I don't know what someone's going through in their life so I just try to keep negative interactions short and end positively (hope). I will heed your advise and keep trudging on 🙂and keep putting out content and at a more regular pace.

The first video I saw of yours was the one your mentioning in the restaurant. You hit the right algorithm with that one! Im on a 6 mouth rotation Philippines and USA back and forth. Im getting backed up with content because Im lousy at the editing part. Need to find a Pinay that knows how to edit!
Im definitely not doing the TH-cam thing for the money. I do it for a couple reasons, one to help with the shyness on camera. Im not shy in real life but as soon as that light begins to blink...different story. Second is because Alzheimers runs in the family and I may need all of this content to refer back to some day. Also people have told me that my life story could sell a book so maybe as that story comes out and people get to know me, people who relate may subscribe. Monetization is the furthest from my mind but I'll spend that $14.33 at the nearest Mang Inasal regardless. Amping Greg and Lindie glad to have quasi met you. Lets stay in touch my new friends!
How many days do you recommend in Siquijor?
Full 7 days if you can swing it. It takes all day to travel to and from the island so you lose almost 2 days just traveling.
How much rate for 3days/4nghts for 3 pax
All depends, the cottage on the beach was P10K per night while the rooms by the road closer to P5K per night. Room only food and drinks extra.
