    I love this because Marcus King is a blues rock guy and Billy is a bluegrass guy and together they are doing a smooth jazz song. The best of four worlds of music. If you haven't heard Marcus sing, go find something he sings. I think there is a live tv video of him doing a song from his new album. look for Dalila

    This is my first time to hear Marcus King, and here's what I like- rather than using the song to show off his playing, he is using his playing to show off the song. This is where greatness comes from. This guy gets music. Obviously puts in the time. Great musician.

    Somehow Marcus seems to mix blues with jazz, if that makes sense and Billy mixes everything with bluegrass. They’re both old souls. Billy’s voice is unexpected but amazing and Marcus’s is out of this world. They also happen to be 2 of the best guitarists alive and maybe ever. Also playing maybe a hundred grand + worth of guitars

    • @only1wolz
      @only1wolz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's from listening to Django Rinehardt. Many finger style, improvisational flat-pickers are heavily influenced by roots blues, "gypsy jazz" and bluegrass. Spin them in a blender and this is what you get. This is the kind of thing someone an orchestral player, classically trained, likes to play in their spare time.

    Love the way they played off each other and kept out of the others way to let the other shine. Respect was shown by each for the other. The slight looks to each other to say “ok, your turn” made the song smooth with transitions back and forth so not making the song choppy. Good lesson to learn for us beginners to know how to jam with others.

    Billy Strings......What you get when you raise your brilliantly talented child on Bluegrass and he digs Black Sabbath and Grateful Dead on his own time.
    For such a young person to bring a new flavor to an old classic style like Bluegrass and PACK places like Red Rocks to hear BLUEGRASS.....Incredible.
    He brings so many different things into this song, especially at the end.
    He blows me away.
    Would have LOVED to see him square off with Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed.

These guys are top notch. It’s a shame they probably won’t get the airplay, respect and money they deserve because the big music money machine will keep them push down playing at small dive bars and places across the country instead of being on the radio for every person to enjoy. It's crazy blues kind of like SRV rocking the blues and now here comes Billy with a new way of rocking the blues, Billy's great like Stevie was.

    Totally sounds like Doc. He's a lifelong student of the man. Check out Billy's latest album. Psycho jam on one tune then straight Doc the next.

    I like how you roll your hand out of the way and show the single note that you're actually playing.. That helps a lot. because when you're holding shapes with your fingers, it's often hard to tell which one is actually pressing down, even in slow motion.. but whn you rotate your hand out of the way-- that makes it so much easier to learn and visualize it. Thanks so much for the video and shout out! You’ve helped influence and teach me so many things since discovering your channel, great breakdowns of reverse engineering these tunes and love the music theory talk! Massive Marcus King Band fan, Thespian Espionage would be a great song for a future video, a ton of jazz influence. But these are all great, I understand you get a lot of requests...keep them coming brotha!
