Bro im pretty decent at the game but daaamn no other game makes me as tilted and also angry at myself when I mess up, but I think that is cause I truly love mvs (allthough ofc it has its problems)
Great vid. We need an alternate dimension Finn skin, the endless dungeon train old man Finn skin, and be able to use all the swords he’s had over all the seasons. Just got this game yesterday and I’m loving it so far
finns side special is very lethal against projectiles, and has a wider range to lock onto and you can chain the lock on afterwards, effective against bugs and batman etc, and his ground side special blocks almost any projectile or stops it
I found a 6 move death combo, but I’m not sure if its truly “true” and I can’t get it every time because after the up-tilt, sometimes the enemy doesn’t go straight up but more away. Here’s the death combo: Slight > Slight > Up-Tilt > Nair > SSpecial > USpecial
I also dislike the down special backpack, even if I can get a combo out of it it wastes my coins for my spinning backpack so I have less knockout power. And I actually dislike the air launch as I dont struggle getting players up with normal attacks, so it just gives them more opportunity to reverse it on me cause i feel like i have less control.
It's called "This Tech is GAMECHANGING" or something like that with bugs' neutral air as the thumbnail. You aim in the top right of your stick, press dodge, and then input an aerial. It's really good for combo extensions.
Can you do Superman content? I’ve been playing him and he’s really good and I don’t really see much content involving him. Maybe you can do a guide or just gameplay. Keep up the good work!
Hey griff, was wondering how you deal with matchups like morty who can spam that weird ground move and outrange you with his attacks. I find myself either jumping all the time and getting in mortys attack range or I have to play the bait and punish game.
@@lostgriff For Rick and Morty, I've been sticking on the ground a lot. (To be honest, I am still not familiar with the game enough to use Finn in the air.) However, I have noticed that you can easily rack-up 100 damage focusing on charges, dodges, and sword thrusts by knocking them back just enough to step behind them. It's very hit and run but racks up damage since the sword thrust has a micro bit more range than most attacks.
Was just about to hop on and play Finn and you posted this, you’re the goat. Just a quick question, I remember being able to “glide” with Finn in beta and forgot how to do it, can you still? I haven’t watched the vid yet so maybe you mentioned it in there so I’ll see. Thanks for the vid tho!
@@lostgriff it’s like when you jump but dodge immediately after then regular side attack I think it’s the same just doesn’t feel the same because of the game being slower. It just felt like he was flying horizontally in beta when I did it
you should do a tutorial on how to deal with button mashers. too many people just press the same button over and over again and it's beyond annoying. they then proceed to teabag like they did something cool. every time I beat one of them I spam the shaggy crying emote and the salt emote. they deserve it
@@lostgriff no need for you to apologize lol. ive gotten better with it over the last few days. spacing myself from people and punishing the mashing as best I can. makes doing combos even more satisfying.
did you bind a key to be able to do airs while grounded? in your dodge cancel you were doing it. Is there a way to do that on PC? I use a ps4 controller on pc. It's literally impossible for me to do his neutral air and side air without jumping slightly, and I'm pretty sure I'm trolling myself by not doing it.
They talked about it a bit in the video but it's something called an instant airdash (IAD). You do it by hitting diagonally up in the direction you wanna go and then hitting any attack button. It cost 3 dodge meter to do but it is very worth it for what you can get off of it. Another tip if you wanna do it with Nair is make sure to use your neutral attack button (normally rb) so you don't have to worry about the up diagonal input making you use fair or uair. Hope this helps :p
Seems like youre making a video for most characters, if you play rick id like youre opinion on this, I feel like his aerial down attack has less hitbox recognition than other characters
Is the u-tilt ij nair actually true? I feel like it never hits against players spamming dodge, and on di out you can't even really get it to connect and are put in a bad position for followup,
@@lostgriff That's what i've started doing, and then going for the nair once they're conditioned to think about dodging there, just wanted to make sure i wasn't like absolutely goofing the inputs bc i could do it in training but not in real matches lol
do you know why the side b attack in the air does not always connect to the enemy tho? it's my biggest problem with him atm: Also the funny thing is. i can land everything in practice mode but since i play a real match i can't do shit lmao
This is gonna sound stupid maybe but when you say "nair", that means neutral air...(right?) Now is that attack or special? and what is the jargon for the other.
High key still miss Gem, and not even cause of the teleporting aspect of it. Just him having a projectile was so nice against players that just wanna circle camp me. Love Guapo, but man 😭
@@lostgriff I would just like to note that hitstun dodge isn't fully functional atm, it's very possible to lab something in there that won't connect in a real match as the bot seemingly doesn't dodge ASAP
Finn is bad he doesn't kill at all so when fighting against any character that can kill early no matter how many 60 damage combos you do if they kill you first your going to lose
Pro tip, finns high five can bounce back projectiles
Yeah but it's a super small window just Saiyan
I need a Finn skin with the demon blood sword
So real bro
this game makes me rage in 1v1s so hard but i love finn so damn he's so cool and i just want to get good with him

W combo bro
its not true if they dodge away after hitstun bro
@@yuuotosaka8202 it was true before the first patch on char like superman, but yeah it’s not true anymore 😭
At 7:58 you get that weird up close teeth glitch for like a frame. Almost like a jumpscare lol.

finns side special is very lethal against projectiles, and has a wider range to lock onto and you can chain the lock on afterwards, effective against bugs and batman etc, and his ground side special blocks almost any projectile or stops it
Its such a good move I was sleeping on it
Yo this video helped I'm about to start grinding this game and I main finn so this helps alot
Ftiltx2 into the down air combo is nuts never thought of that w guide
Lfg. Finn is dope. Simple but dope. Just gotta practice.
I found a 6 move death combo, but I’m not sure if its truly “true” and I can’t get it every time because after the up-tilt, sometimes the enemy doesn’t go straight up but more away.
Here’s the death combo:
Slight > Slight > Up-Tilt > Nair > SSpecial > USpecial
It's a read combo cause of how long the startup on SSpecial is
Yeah side special is never true unfortunately no matter how you space it

miss the old finn
After watching this video and trained for hours....
You have created a monster >:3
I'm glad to hear it goat
Very informative video sir 🫡. I appreciate you getting to the point. Haven't played since last beta and this was a great refresher on the character.
7:17 you mention a "Instant Air Dodge Combo" video? What video is that? :D

I can try! I haven't seen too much of him either. I'll lab him out tonight, then
Hey griff, was wondering how you deal with matchups like morty who can spam that weird ground move and outrange you with his attacks.
I find myself either jumping all the time and getting in mortys attack range or I have to play the bait and punish game.
Morty is definitely a tough matchup for him. It's also hard to land against morty so platforms are good for finn

I need a Finn skin of season 10 with Jake hat the night sword is metal arm and new dialogues

Man this is nuts you can like be a combo monster with finn 😮
What was that at 4:05 like a giant set of teeth?
Training room glitch that got fixed
down special down slame into neutral air and then what ever you think
I use Finn’s air down special to fake out my opponent at the edge and hit them with air down attack
