So so refreshing to see another crochet artist price their work fairly and at a profit to themselves! We should never feel bad for charging our worth in handmade 💖

I agree. Artists should charge for their time/materials and then some. To me handmade means quality and I will personally pay extra for that.
One thing I learned is not to judge yourself too harshly. People who don't crochet won't see even half the flaws we see in our own work, they just see something that looks cute or cool and generally don't inspect all the stitches lol

Heck YES! I love the intention you put into everything! I price my plushies generally the same and a little higher than I think most do. The right people will always buy and you'll attract the right people with your energy (: you've done incredible with the market setup as well as the information in the video (visuals and all)! Last year I did a few weekend farmers markets and was a bit underwhelmed, this year I'm going to some more craft specific markets and I'm super nervous! I'm really glad to see your pricing, I came to the same decision that I would rather set my price and the right person will want it at that price, and I've had some online sales where people have actually told me I was underselling myself and chosen to pay more than my quoted price 😅

I am new here. Great job on preparation. I dont do well woth markets but im not giving up yet. My best friend has begged me not to give up yet. We both struggle with pricing. We try to bounce ideas of prices off each other.

Congratulations! (I’m sure you’ve done lots more since this vid) but I had to comment cause I’m hoping to start doing live crocheting soon, just for myself (force myself to do it more as well) so thank you for the inspiration. Luckily I’ve gotten to have a booth/market at BroadwayCon here in the states for like 4 years. So I totally related to all of this as well. Again thanks and looking forward to following along 😀

Out of curiosity (and trying to figure out my pricing) would you price the same if you lived in an area where that kind of yarn was more available? It runs around $12 USD here.
I'm not too sure to be honest! I think I would but if things werent selling I would need to reconsider dropping price or reevaluate my quality of product - pricing is always the toughest. I think @crochetwbay has good tips on pricing :)
@@crochetmezaddy Thank you I will definitely look. I've seen a lot of people pricing themselves overall too low or little things very expensive and their tough large pieces cheaply so I'm so confused on pricing.
@@jacquig1939 I think it's always best to value your time and effort for what you believe its worth and the right customer will come along :) All the best!
Whenever I see the prices that Aussie crochet makers charge, I always feel bad for American crochet counterparts - because it seems they are WAY undercharging :(

You will find that people will buy more if they can feel the plushies..so I would rethink the hands off stance

Don’t worry I laughed with you when you said two in the pink 😜 and I felt the exact same way with those sting rays. I sold two to one customer at a market for $18 usd each when I told him that they may be the last I ever make. He bought just one at first then came back bc he felt bad about splitting up the family 🥹
