I really miss these things. It was surprisingly useful and the pen input worked great. I found it annoying how PDAs never went mainstream however. The processors didn't evolve much over 10 years. 412mhz processors were common for PDA's back then. Doom played pretty well. I really wish pen inputs become common again. Combined with a wacom active digitizer, you can get very precise and accurate writing.
Hey, it's 2013 and I'm still using my H3850! It's still great for taking notes in the field (for work) and syncing with the laptop later. I also have a bar code reader sleeve, far superior to the software readers in phones today. It's a real workhorse. I use 'em till the screens die and buy more. If you still have one that works with a good battery, put it on eBay for $20.00 and someone will buy it! (Probably me!)
Watching a 14 year old video of a 24 year old device. My wife was enamored with this little toy, that was quite progressive for its time - and at least partially inspired the far superior iPod. So I bought her one, I think the 3600, that she proceeded to never use. I did eventually sell it when it still had value. You know those things that you used to have a long time ago, but for one reason or another don't have anymore, and think, "Wow, I really wish that I still had that"? Well, this isn't one of those things...
haha you are correct; there was some compaq oem cases with a snap-slot on both sides so you could put the stylus or snap the swing-away cover onto eitehr side
I had the GPS addon for this was a sleeve with a memoey card im it which had the maps and software and a gps receiver it connected via the expansion port at the bottom
I'm guessing he never takes it out of the dock because the battery is dead. These used NiMH batteries, so you can imagine how few of them still work after 10 years!
August 2021 and I still admire these devices so much..
2024 and I still admire this device, it's not just a device actually.. it exhibits a vibe of an era. Kudos
I got one of these with T-Mobile modem card around 2001. Fun walking around the city and getting internet.
I still own one of these it was amazing

It really blows me away that these devices are 12-14 years old. Time flys!
Ya and now your comment is 10 years old 😅

This is actually the First Smartphone.
2000s nostalgic technology
Used to have one of these.... But the Palm Pilot were the ones to have before this ...
I had the GPS addon for this was a sleeve with a memoey card im it which had the maps and software and a gps receiver it connected via the expansion port at the bottom
I remember back in the mid 2000's people were starting to carry 2 to 3 devices with them. A PDA, an iPod, and a cellphone.
Don't forget the camera!
You could get a GPS sleeve for the 3800, I know, I had one
At least these devices had quick setup. Now there are loading between each step making setup much slower.
Now this video is almost 10 years old itself, lol
Time flies
I remember this thing from the awesome case design.
the two stylus holder .... i gues for right and left- handed people
Got 1 10 years ago from my uncle when he passed. Never had a charger. Found it today moving out. Kinda want to buy a charger.
Stylus was not always necessary.
Only thumb with control button,
Depending on the setting.
How does this compare with the hp ipaq h6365?
Oh! Mai god! When is this coming out? I can’t wait!
O have one of this... But I don't know the funtion with the batery
I know why there are two holes one for right handed one for left handed
How to get Wi-Fi adapter???Link,please??
13 year old me hated the IPAQ because I had the Cassiopeia E125. Fuckin' Strong-ARM processors...
where to buy that! can you review the Pocket BridgeMan software??
Actually everything is super fast on that deivce. Almost no loading. Even HD2 seems slower than that.
@DavetheTyTNIIGuy Yes, docks were great. I miss them too.
It lags less than the samsung Galaxy S4!
I had the iPAQ 2210 and loved it. The REVO universal IR software was the nuts.
You are the best:D :D in am laughing from about 10 minutes ......(it seems still a good device maybe a little old)
One of the stylus holes on the dock is for left handed people... Duh
Actually the 3870 has Bluetooth, the 3850 and lower doesn't.
yo tengo un ipaq y no se como usarlo
Tou aqui pq achei um desse e nem sei como ligar em 2020 kkkkkk
Jacey Fall

Adelle Key

That guy ALWAYS compares the HD2 with the other devices !!!
I HATE it!!

Does a review but never takes it out of the fucking dock.
E nem da pra entender nada desse vídeo
this is all nice, but what's the purpose of these videos?
I'm almost a decade late, but it is so we can see how far we came technology-wise.
wow the same version of IE today on a 2002 device? makes no sense, joke fail.
