I remember in Premier League 96 the sticker of the Aston Villa player Gareth Farrelly wore the Aston Villa away kit when all the other players wore the home kit.
I turned 39 in September 2024. I was in primary school when this classic sticker collection was out! 1996 was an amazing year: Euro 96' in England; the Atlanta Olympics (Nigeria won it beating Brazil in the semi finals and Argentina in the final ❤🔥
Denis Irwin is an absolute Legend and one of the best players United have ever had, certainly one of the most consistently good ones. I can’t remember him having a crap game, even on the occasions we lost he would still be one of the players who had done alright even if the rest had had a ‘mare. As a retired player, he’s been on MUTV as a pundit and has also given stadium tours.
Great video, I do wish there was never a separation between the old football league and the premier league. Mirandinha was playing for Newcastle only a few years prior to the Brazilian mentioned here as an example. Aside from a few changes, the old Div One and Premier League represent virtually the same thing - the top tier of English football. It’s as if history has been erased sometimes.
Poborsky and Cruyff didn’t arrive until 96/97 seasons so they were in the 97 album. Kanchelskis had signed for Everton in the summer of 95 so he was among the Everton stickers in this album Only foreign United players in this album were Schmeichel, Cantona, Irwin and Keane
Andrea Silenzi. Bought by Forest on the strength of a highlights video shown by his agent to our (then) manager Frank Clark. The first goal Silenzi scored for us was a ricochet off his nose during a goal-mouth scramble as he lay flat on the turf, he wasn't even aware at first that he'd scored! Massive flop for us, frustrating at the time, but these days I have to smile and shake my head when I hear his name.
Nick Barmby was promising young and only english attacking midfielder back then its supposedly Gerrard (nicky Butt)as DM Mcmanaman (Joe cole) LW Beckham (Lampard) RW Scholes(Barmby) AM Owen and Rooney (heskey/de foe)as ST but ,butt, barmby not up to expectation ...macca and cole had injuries Barmby can cover lw too
@@Retro-Football-Club Haha, fair enough! I do think it will help attract more people, as some folks just switch off straight away when they hear AI. Still, great work! I'm enjoying the nostalgia! 🥲
For the time being it’s all we can do with the equipment and bits we have. It’s still not prevented our videos from surging over the 20k mark so far, in fact as soon as we posted these videos the channel sky rocketed in views. Agree it’s a bit iffy though. We’ll get there 🙂
That’s correct but we are clearly covering the Premier League in this series, in particular the 96 sticker album, hence the title, the theme, the graphics 👍🏻
Thanks for the Correction 95 it was although Arsenal was 93, Villa was 94 As for NY they were sold off to Red Bull, so I suppose they are defunct in a way as are Wimbledon, after becoming MK. That’s the thought process anyway 👍🏻🙂
Miss them days when every club had different goals nets and some coloured ones like there team colours like norwich city, all same these days goals nets at every club.

Class video. This is the type of conversations me and mate have over a few beers. Excellent work mate
Milosevic was also top scorer of the European Championship in 2000 if remember correctly, together with Patrick Kluivert.
I had the Dmitri Kharine figure that Corinthian made in the 90’s. Nice memory!
He lived in the house opposite mine during his Chelsea time. We had Dave Beasant up the road too on my paper round. Good times. 😁

Andrea Silenzi ended up moving to New York and playing guitar for a goth metal band called Type O Negative. Crazy.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can’t make it up 😂
Type O were brilliant too
Very mid player. Had one game for Italy and did nothing
@@petegonad except that he literally did 🤣🤣
The legend (but you lot just don't want to admit it) Glenn Helder. Glad to see he is good. Stand up comedian? Now that's an interesting one lol lol.

Get what you mean. But the angle of this channel is predominantly to cover the Premier League and mainly in the 90’s
What a throwback! Remembered almost all of those players but hadn't heard their names in ages!
RIP Klas. Still lives on in my username.
Whenever a goalkeeper wore leggings I called them Kharine Pants.

Dennis Irwin? Love me some Dennis but was expecting maybe Karel Pobrosky, Andre Kanchelskis or Jordi Cruyff...
Poborsky came to UTD the next season after Euro 96

Back when the foreign players were from down south or up north lol
Isaías is a legend at Benfica, shame it didn't work out for him in the PL
I remember all of these players and all their pictures from that sticker album. A shame I never completed the collection

An embarrassment of a player. Can’t believe he played a game for Italy in the era of Baggio, Zola , Vialli 😅😅😅
Worst pro I've ever seen
I had a t-shirt with "I saw Silenzi score" on it. Useless. So bad even Pratt wouldn't have signed him!
I still have this sticker book fully completed from when I was a kid.
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks.
i have this album, all completed, for me Ruud Gullit was the hardest sticker to collect
Completed most of the albums from the 90s.
Graeme Le Saux always caught me out.

The only sticker album I ever completed this was. My cover was turquoise though not red. Same players but a different colour entirely

Why would Sheff Weds need Klas Ingesson when they had Carlton Palmer? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Leeds had just signed him for £2.6 million
