Vishal Naidu - probably because he didn't provide enough explanation. I've watched other videos on this method and most of them use some sort of "rooting hormone" you can buy from your local garden center. You also have to cut the stem one quarter inch right below a nodule. that's where the roots are going to sprout out of.
Very good job.Βreeding plants with eyeball I think is that. But the wrong thing suppose the soil is full of weed seeds it isnt disinfected.I suggest to use peat.Sorry if my engish is bad.
If this works as shown in this video we’ll have some lovely new rose bushes growing in our garden this summer 🤞🏻. But we were horrified to see the first example of how to make the hole in the first potato - using a knife to make the hole by pushing it towards the palm of the hand holding it, what were they thinking!!! The second example of using a drill bit was exactly what we will be using - safer & will produce a much neater hole. We would have already removed the soil from the garden that would be used to cover the potatoes, definitely removing any weeds or other unwanted vegetation. The soil looked a little dry too. We’ll be using suitable potting compost to give the roses (hopefully) a good start and better chance of later becoming rose bushes to be proud of! Time alone will tell us if we’ve succeeded.

Middle Europe, Hungary. "Mezőföld" territory.
Here in Ohio USA the soil is thick clay based and would be in globs if dug right out of the Earth.
Eastern Washington State also.
Try Georgia USA red clay! The only thing that grows fast in that stuff is Kudzu, black berry bushes and pine trees!
Now wait, what about peaches, pecans, and almonds?
