If correctly adjusted ORVM should not hurt your eyes at night.
There is a correct way to adjust the ORVM with just adequate overlap with Inside rear view mirror. If done correctly, there should be no issue at night.

Future is of Automatic cars only, they are equally reliable now. And when someone is making a deal, he/she have think through all these aspect and then bought the car..
